Isn't Exodia Mage now possible without Quest thanks to Leyline Manipulator?

I was playing my crappy new paladin deck against a quest mage today, and he had the combo in hand ready to go. Then this happened:
  • Stonehill Defender -> discovers Dirty Rat
  • Dirty Rat -> pulls out Antonidas
  • Wild Pyromancer
  • Humility
Thank you, e-sports.

It's weird that the valeera copy of kingsbane doesn't retain the buffs. It ends up not mattering in going infinite, but it definitely tripped me up.

Failed at the final boss 3 or 4 times now in dungeon runs while cruising through each leading up to them. Getting 2 cthun's psychic screamed and 1 entombed and then drawing crap for the rest of the game.

Psychic Scream is going to make me want to quit this game if it becomes popular in the meta.

It's a flat out no fun allowed card.

I'm all for having some new good board clears, but that one is far too much. Cheaper than twisting nether, silences all death rattles and dilutes your deck. It's a really stupid card that might ruin the entire set.

nah.. with current build you can cut a lot card for more removal

its still struggling of course but you its still raise percentage against aggro

Problem is sometimes you don't have time for 2 simulacrum and leyline.

I ended up with 3 girls and Toni a lot instead of the full combo of 4 girls. And couldn't do shit against hunter, secret mage or any faster deck.

IMO quest is better/easier, that extra turn means extra 10 mana.

Well, today hasn't been my most successful launch day. Most of my success came with decks built around the hunter and shaman spellstones, but nothing I feel can survive to the refined meta.

Totem Shaman seems to have been the biggest disappointment for me. I had hopes that getting that free Al'Akir might be easier than people expected, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Still want to try out some more Paladin and Warrior stuff, but as far as I can tell at this early point in time, the best thing to do with this expansion is to go back to the old decks and swap in 2-4 new cards. Hunter is the one exciting class where there's clearly a lot of potential for new archetypes.

Spent 4000 dust on Questlock.

Discovered that I don't really like the deck.

RIP dust.

From my ~25 packs i got Priest weapon and bunch of epics.
Also Warlock as my free weapon ( which is horrible imo).
I have bunch of dust but i'll hold off before i buy anything. I created a Quest Priest deck last night and with the new spell that creates two 1/1 copies of the DR minions , deck works much better than before. With some tweaks , i think it might be a Tier 3/4 deck. Strategy against control decks:
Just put Archbishop Benedictus in the deck, when you draw N'zoth copy your opponents deck and next turn play your N'zoth ,so Loot Hoarders from N'zoth will let you draw your new deck.

Have to say, dungeon mode is a massive disappointment in my opinion. Too many of the bosses are the typical cheap bullshit that pretty much everyone hates and then you have to spend time grinding back to where you were just to get fucked over again. Not to mention the complete rng on the treasures.

Then you add on top of that no rewards outside of the card back and and no quest progression at all and it's just a massive miss. It could have been so much better.

Yeah it would've been nice to get 100 dust or 100 gold for beating it with a class. Only once per class of course. Quest progression should've been a no brainer, but oh well. Not sure what you were expecting with the rng treasures though. Overall, I'm finding it enjoyable. Hopefully they can improve it because I do think it's fun and has a lot more potential.

I fucking love the new dungeon mode. It's the best single player content Hearthstone has ever had. Sure, it's possible to get fucked over, but that just makes the stakes even more fun! The fact that you lose everything if you lose gives the progression a real sense of stakes. Overall it's a great addition and probably the only single player component in Hearthstone I'll keep coming back to.

I almost felt bad Psychic Screaming a full board of Rogue 4/4 Spiders. Like yeah it's a cool card, but nothing that Anduin would notice.

I can respect that. I don't even hate the mode. Building a deck and choosing treasures is pretty fun but it could have been made a little less grindy. Having it count toward quest progression would also have kept me coming back to it on a regular basis.

Man, I'm so conflicted now.

I've dusted cards to make new stuff in the past--things like Madam Goya and Call of the Wild only to see that they're playable now. I don't want to craft them now because they'll be gone in exactly one set, and now I'm paranoid about dusting anything.

A long while ago, I made the decision to dust a lot of my Wild cards and focus on Standard; that includes most of GvG and even some adventure cards like Brann and Kel'Thuzad (who I loved the crap out of). Now, looking at Wild, I find I'm missing tons of stuff. There's just no other way to get the cards I want / need. Dusting inevitably leads to regret. New cards cost a lot of money. I look at some of the lists running around right now, the "hottest" decks, and I don't think I have a single complete deck yet. Worse, most of those decks are missing legendaries--1600 dust cards that are impossible to craft without dusting my new (or old) cards.

I've pre-registered for packs the last two expansions because I want to support the game, but even after 60 packs today I don't feel like I've got my money's worth because I didn't get the cards I wanted to play what I want.

Anyone else feel this way? How do you deal with it? Do you just play a lot and amass gold? Did you sacrifice a class for dust? Do you just buy tons of packs? This should be a time of super excitement, but instead, I just feel like I'm missing out. : /

I got the Druid weapon as free legendary.

I also got from 88 packs:

Lynessa
The guy who swaps decks around (can't recall name)
Hunter weapon
The Druid legendary, Lixid or whatever he's called

Pretty disappointed really. I had a look at the top theorycrafted decks etc. and the only thing I actually have the cards for is Dragon Priest and that's literally the same as it was just with x2 Duskbreakers put in. I've got ~6000 dust after disenchanting all the duplicates from the packs but I really don't want to dip into that if I can avoid it.

I have started playing a lot with Twig, and it does seem a bit OP

A Whole New World Tree

  • # 2x (0) Moonfire
  • # 2x (2) Wild Growth
  • # 2x (2) Wrath
  • # 2x (3) Jade Blossom
  • # 2x (4) Branching Paths
  • # 2x (4) Mire Keeper
  • # 2x (4) Swipe
  • # 1x (4) Twig of the World Tree
  • # 2x (5) Arcane Tyrant
  • # 1x (5) Faceless Manipulator
  • # 1x (5) Ixlid, Fungal Lord
  • # 2x (5) Nourish
  • # 2x (6) Spreading Plague
  • # 1x (7) Malfurion the Pestilent
  • # 1x (9) Malygos
  • # 1x (10) Kun the Forgotten King
  • # 2x (10) Ultimate Infestation
  • # 2x (12) Arcane Giant

Deck Code: AAECAZICBrQDkwTguwKZ0wKj5gKb6AIMQF/TA8QG5Ai+rgKCtALLvAKgzQKHzgKe0gLb0wIA

The turn where there Twid Deathrattle prock, you play Kun, and then something else is ridiculous

This deck also has the late game play of Ixlid and Arcane Giants. Which is 4 giants on the board 8/8 8/8 8/8 8/8 2/4

Branching Paths is also amazing, and all three choices are very useful in different games. A random 12 Armour saved me lots of time

I've actually been trying the same thing, although I already had all the pieces (minus Bloodreaver Gul'dan.) Even when the synergies work and you get a quick Nether Portal -- and even if in doing so you also get Silverware Golems and/or Clutchmother for maximum tempo swing -- it still pales in comparison to the tools available to other classes.

I dunno. I always thought Disco/Questlock would be fun if you could get it to work, but even with a piece that I thought may be the keystone -- Cataclysm -- it's still too weak. =/

Just got booted from the servers and can't get back in, but before that I was enjoying Spell Hunter. Pretty sure it'll end up like Yogg Hunter which only got wins for the first week and was otherwise just a fun deck, but I had a Hunter quest and all the cards except To My Side so why not.

Emerald Spellstone is fucking bonkers if you pull it off quickly, and Rhok'delar gave me three Tracking at once which let me clear out my deck to find Flare to kill a Mage with Ice Block. Fun.

I think I'm the complete opposite, so my post probably isn't gonna help much

I personally don't dust anything because I just like collecting. I will dust golden copies of cards that I already have though if I'm in desperate need of dust. Oh and I'll dust cards that get nerfed if they are cards I crafted.
I'm quasi f2p and by that I mean I never buy packs but I was always willing to buy the adventures. I've always been able to save up a bunch of gold in between sets, though I had trouble saving for Frozen Throne because I didn't know it wasn't gonna be an adventure. I think I only had like 4k gold for that one and I normally save 7-8k.

As for crafting stuff...i don't worry about what's rotating or whatever. I mean yeah I play wild as well as standard, but I doubt I'm ever gonna use Yshaarj in anything but standard big priest. Rotation is months away and I play this shit daily. I'm not even gonna think twice about crafting something if I know I'm gonna use it. If you KNOW you're gonna use it, then craft it. Of course of you're iffy, then don't. I crafted Finja several months ago and had a blast with him. When I crafted Justicar Trueheart last year, I had absolutely no regrets. One of my favorite cards. I currently have 13k dust and am probably about to blow 4800 of it on Old Gods cards. As long as I know I'm gonna use them, I won't feel bad about it.

I dunno man, I guess just stop thinking about it so hard.
Idk, anything that hasn't been literally the same bland shit all year with the same Patches/OTK/Keleseth/Tempo bullshit that plagues this meta like a tumor. Give me control decks, give me deathrattle decks, fuck sake just give me variety.

Hurray to Blizzard for not solving any of the previous meta's problems.

There are always gonna be people running the same decks when a new expansion drops. It's an easy way to get wins while people are experimenting. Hopefully there are some changes in the next week.

told y'all that 4 mana 4/4 spider card was a huge mistake , i still don't understand any of the logic behind it. if it was 2/2's it MIGHT be balanced. there's no way in HELL it should draw anything regardless of what it summons. when i at first though it didn't draw i thought it would be a challenge to build a deck around, to an extent. but since it draws, LOL and you can't get fatigued since you can wicked weapon the legendary back into your deck....wtf

Remember when I said I wasn't gonna pre-order KaC? Well, the missus wanted to get it for me for Christmas and I lacked the willpower to stop her.

88 packs in total giving me 7 legendaries, including a golden Alu'neth (the Hunter weapon was my "freebie" so that gives me 8 new ones all together). Self mill Mage deck here we come!
