So I guess an update is due about my problems with getting Brick Bank delivered (see a few posts up). So as expected I got my note to go pick up my package today in the mail. However on the note they wrote the wrong name, which meant that I couldn't get my package. So I contacted the mail-carrier and they told me to contact Lego. However I have ordered from Lego before without problem and in my confirmation email they have written it correctly as well so I didn't think that the problem was on their end either. So I went back into the store and asked them to just check the name on the box, so I would know who to contact to fix the mistake. Of course the box said my name so I could just pick it up then and there.

In the end everything worked out but damn, the mail-carrier really didn't want me to get my Lego.

I'm not sure why it matters what's hand-written on the note. At least with Posti in Finland, the mail notices have a bar-code, which the shop assistant scans along with your ID, and that's it. Anyway, good that you got your stuff!

No, I just thought you somehow got given that as a gift set this year, which would have been a bit odd.

Speaking of odd, it is indeed an odd set. Even if you did try to add water so the "snow" pieces floated, it would all leak out.

Oh I see. Yeah it's just a few sets my wife bought me last year to build as a tradition with the kids. Might get the station to add to it this year.

It's written on a computer and the name on the note gets entered in the system, which meant that my ID didn't match the bar-code when the clerk scanned it. I understood that there really wasn't anything he could do about it so I didn't make a fuss about it to him either. However when I came back and asked him to check the name on the box and he saw that I was telling the truth he was nice enough to give it to me.

So I built the Ford GT and Ford GT40 set. This was barely more expensive than the standard price for one car, so it was a really good value. This is my third Speed Champions set and although I don't intend to collect them, they are really good for adding detail to my display. The builds are really sweet with lots of weird parts in such a small area. I think the GT40 has some ideas that could be used to make a Corvette Stingray.

There are tons of stickers and I messed up a lot with the podium (probably out of practice), but luckily the cars turned out well. There's not really many rare parts in these either so even if I did want to tear them down, the stickers aren't ruining any parts. One thing that is worth mentioning is how damn nice these look. Brand new Lego is shiny in itself and the stickers add even more glossiness. Really makes them pop in person.

Europe sales on LEGO Online Shop are up (I guess UK/Ireland/Portugal in few minutes too)
-20% on probably all current CITY, Friends, Duplo and Juniors

Not much worth mentioning, probably just that all CITY PF trains are included. And the retiring City Square. And 60162 Jungle Air Drop Helicopter which is not so common in retail...

I don't know about the rest of you all, but I'm still planning on putting up my "best of the year" list here on ERA (although my participation here has fallen off since I'm spending more time in the Discord).

It will be a little later than usual though - probably this weekend.

For better or worse, the transition phase and Discord has changed things.

Personally, I'm able to share more on the Discord, and I can deflect unwanted attention away from ERA, and it's easier for me to share images there, especially since I am often on mobile.

I'm still trying to maintain a presence here as well, and hopefully things settle into a balance.

I plan to post a best of as well. And apologies to everyone for being less active on both here and discord. It has been a weird few months for me with the transition here and also finishing off school for the first time since the Dreamcast launched. I just haven't had the time or mental capacity for anything lately. But the semester is done, and I am needing to catch up on LEGO stuff, even if I have zero money now.

That is awesome. And I had a feeling it would be done with those triangle rounded pieces, but wasn't sure how they would get it to lock into place. That is very cool.

OMG! IN FOR THE TERENCE STAMP AND MARLON BRANDO FIGURES!

Anyone with the Millenium Falcon, do you think the box would be easy to carry by yourself? I got a call that my wait list order is in, but they recommended I bring a cart or someone to help carry it

It weighs about 20 lbs or so and is large and unwieldy. You can carry it, but it will be weird, particularly for long distances. If you park near the entrance of the LEGO store and just pack and go, it should be cool.

Interesting, they have bat logo print on the stands. It's cool, but makes it so they aren't very reusable.

I dreamed of having Super Hero minifigs when I was a kid in the 70's. I'm overjoyed with all the Super Friends minifigs and classic Black Canary and Green Arrow.

I prefer the non-kiddy version of Killer Moth in Scarecrow™ Harvest of Fear 76054 set, but the CMF is fun.

I'm surprised LEGO created a new mould for the Bat Fan hood. Curious to see how that could be reused.

Getting Black Canary, maybe a couple of the twins (is that hairpiece new?) and a bunch of the swimmer Batman. That's a clean torso, right? Those are getting really rare since they were only previously in one Indiana Jones set.

EraLego, how would you go about buying pieces to build a model from instructions found on the internet? The lego site seems to be missing a lot of pieces or am I missing something? I would like a site where you just submit a list of pieces and pay.

Bricklink would be your best bet imo. It's all individual sellers, but you can create wishlists (sometimes automatically depending on how your instructions are supplied), and then automatically find the cheapest and best stores to buy from.

I believe this is from the book, "Lego Batman Movie : The Making of the Movie". I'd like to see the Artic Batman suit made. Just about all of them were made into real minifigures.

Arctic Batman was the one batsuit I was really hoping would be in wave 2.

Which Lego site are you using, pick-a-brick or bricks and pieces?

I walked about 1 kilometer and half with it, went well but I had one of those 2-wheels cart. It's pretty much impossible without something to roll it (that's the reason why Lego provided a rolling crate themselves)

I was trying pick-a-brick, I didn't know there was another site. I'm looking at bricklink right now, it seems like it could work. It's a bitch to find the pieces by name though.
Not once you're trained.

Though:
- you can use part numbers
- you can look for the set and get the parts list as a wishlist, and you're done in seconds

For averagely built office worker aka me it would be quite challenging to carry it as a box for longer periods. But drop it in a bag big enough and with long handles, like the IKEA bags http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/17228340/ (will need to strech it a little) or those heavy duty bags for gardening and it is easier. But anything with wheels will help. Or being in good condition from manual labor or fitness :D

Yeah, I'm slowly improving. I don't have any parts references, I'm trying to do the Wipeout Feisar ship that was posted on the german PS blog a while ago.

I'm surprised they're doing a Lego Batman minifig series 2, that wave seems to be one of the only ones that was way, way overordered and still available. Of course, this probably means they will underorder this wave...

Was in Barnes & Noble today and saw they were doing 30% off on select LEGO Star Wars and Batman sets. I had a $25 gift card so I picked up the Rathtar Escape set for Han and Chewie minifigs, paid $30.97 plus tax for it.

I picked up the city pizza van today, I need something to fill out the sidewalks. It will probably be the finishing touch on my display for a while. I'm going abroad in February and I will put everything down in boxes during that time. I will post some pics of it all when it's done.

I opened my Bricktober pack, the 4th one with CMF recolours. I just realized that another boxer will be useful for the Downtown Diner.

I loved the Saturn V build, even with all those slopes-on-plates x4 builds. A lot of interesting and clever parts. And the result is great, though I wonder if the bottom is really sturdy enough to support the weight.

Mine is standing on the bottom since bough and built right after the premier before summer. No problems whatsoever
Just a note, if building as joint build and sharing multiples between persons, check if all the engines are pushed together the same. A short difference might not tip the Stage I when alone, but once other stages are added ...
