Okay folks, what are the three legendaries you hope to pull tomorrow? I don't care about just viability. Just the ones you want for the fun, the experimentation, the memes, or actual competitiveness! I'll go:

Kingsbane
The Darkness
Lynessa Sunsorrow

all those - Lynessa + Aluneth + okheart + Dragon soul just for reasons.

Time to look over our card ratings and see what we have collectively decided for this set!

Highest Rated Cards
  1. Duskbreaker
  2. Psychic Scream
  3. Kobold Librarian
  4. Twilight Acolyte
  5. Leyline Manipulator
  6. Dire Mole
  7. Vulgar Homunculus
  8. Reckless Flurry
  9. Hooked Reaver
  10. Carnivorous Cube
Duskbreaker ties Dragonfire Potion as the highest rated card ever (which seems very fitting). Psychic Scream is not too far behind either. Priest getting a huge buff this expansion, as if they needed it. Dire Mole is a surprising inclusion to this list, I would say. A 1/3 Beast seems pretty unassuming, but it has apparently been very well received by all the Hunters and Beast Druid players amongst us.

Worst Rated Cards
  1. Rin, the First Disciple
  2. To My Side!
  3. The Runespear
  4. Feral Gibberer
  5. Grand Archivist
  6. Toothy Chest
  7. Gravelscout Knight
  8. Silver Vanguard
  9. Crushing Walls
  10. King Togwaggle
The Purify of this set, To My Side!, makes its appearance on the bottom 10 list. But it is (deservedly) edged out by Rin, the First Disciple for "Worst Card in the Expansion" status. There is a good chance one of these cards will surprise everyone and become playable, if not a meta-defining card. The past two sets have seen both Prince Keleseth and Sherazin, the Corpse Flower hit the bottom 10 list, yet go on to become powerful cards.

Most Controversial Cards
  1. Arcane Tyrant
  2. Temporus
  3. Lynessa Sunsorrow
  4. Master Oakheart
  5. Psionic Probe
  6. Crushing Hand
  7. Murmuring Elemental
  8. Call to Arms
  9. Windshear Stormcaller
  10. Dragon's Fury
These cards have the highest variance in their ratings, meaning the community is very split on how good or bad they may be. Lynessa is one we've discussed in here quite a bit already. Others are probably just plain hard to evaluate such as Temporus. Some that didn't quite make the cut for this list, but have generated discussion here, are Potion of Heroism (#12), Kingsbane (#14) and The Darkness (#15). Some of us are going to be right about these cards, while others will be eating some serious crow.

Average Class Card Ratings
  1. Priest (3.28)
  2. Rogue (3.23)
  3. Warlock (3.11)
  4. Mage (3.06)
  5. Druid (2.90)
  6. Paladin (2.86)
  7. Shaman (2.76)
  8. Hunter (2.71)
  9. Warrior (2.62)
Here we have the average scores for each class's class cards. Priest, unsurprisingly, is tops thanks to having the top 2 cards in the set. Rogue is not too far behind though. Warlock and Mage also seem to be getting above average class cards this expansion. Druid and Paladin are in that middle tier, with Shaman and Hunter a step below. Warrior is in the dumpster. This doesn't tell the whole story though, as certain neutrals work better in some classes than others, bolstering those class's decks outside of their class cards.

So what time are expansions normally unlocked? Should I expect to open packs at midnight tonight (EST here), 3 AM EST, or some random update time thursday afternoon?

Are people down on Potion of Heroism? I feel like it will be pretty easy to slot into a Handbuff style Pally deck. Add in that and Lynessa and you're basically done. I think the legendary weapon could be played a bit too, but only if everyone on ladder is running greedy-AF decks. So maybe for the first couple days of the expansion otherwise it will be too slow.

Potion of Heroism seems great in that it doesn't really cost you a card and gives something like ~2.5HP on average worth of health. Its like a slightly bigger Power Word Shield. Everyone plays PW:S. It seems like a no brainer to me. I don't think the dude paladin deck is any good, but you don't need that for Potion of Heroism.

potion of heroism is a solid card and likely has a home in control or midrange paladin decks. it's not a terribly flashy card so it's not very exciting. also power word shield is 1 mana and synergizes well with priest hero power. it's a huge difference. it should really cost 2 mana.

I just can't see handbuff or quest paladin being good. bonemare does way more for that deck than lynessa and it still wasn't enough.

It pains me to see Togwaggle on the worst cards list. It isn't intended to be good, just a hell of a lot of fun. Review spreadsheets need an option to put a smiley face for a fun meme card. No need to give Mr. Tog a bad rating!

oh that's cool it didn't require an app update from the store it just started downloading when I launched Hearthstone.
Actually I'm not sure now. The ingame update ran, but then it had a popup that said I needed to do one last update from the store.

However, the store isn't showing an update, and now the game is just stuck on the login screen. Did anyone else have this happen and does it just go away eventually?

Seems like the correct strategy for this brawl is to play beast hunter and stuff everything down the charge aisle. Hasty million power hyena ftw.

edit: and indeed it was the correctest of strategies as the prize pack yielded a golden Cenarius.

People who are doubting the Dire Mole. Consider that every 1/3 for 1 has eventually found it's way into a good deck, I think it's pretty safe to say this will too. Even the Vilefin Inquisitor which was considered a joke when it came out is now in a pretty strong murloc pally deck.

Dire Mole as the sixth best card what is happening xD
I know right? It's ok but 1/3 vanilla isn't exactly amazing, I don't know where the hype is coming from. Same thing happened when Enchanted Raven was revealed, oh look 1 mana 2/2 zomg. It's good but nothing crazy here. It's no 5/5 one drop, this is not STB, not even close.

this into razormaw is still way weaker than murloc curve and much less consistent for example.

All of those have a powerful text.

edit: I don't know how a card like Call to Arms ended up on high variance list, some of you guys are really bad XD

Getting mage wins was a pain, but then I needed hunter cards to clear out my quest and it was indeed good.

My favorite was including 3 copies of "now featuring charge" Swamp King Dred. That ended at least a few games by itself once people tried to play minions and realized what it did.

I don't think you'll see Dire Mole outside of Hunter/Druid but it's really good there.

In Token Druid I like it more than Raven. I'd rather curve into mark and make a 3/5 over a 4/4.

not necessarily a singe pain, you will see all kinds of priest.

duskbreaker more likely than not takes care of your flappy bird anyway.

4/4 is way better than a 3/5 with priests being meta.

Hm, that is true. And later duskbreaker TOTALLY fucks flappy bird or living mana. Token druid might not even work out, but eh. Hard to call what will happen with Priest getting all of this stuff.

Part of me hopes Dragon doesn't really take off since I think Duskbreaker alone is fucking over a lot of archetypes, but I can't say I want to see more Raza feat. Psychic Scream either.

I don't disagree. my first point is that priest is a super bad matchup and the difference between a 3/5 and a 4/4 is mostly irrelevant.

It usually translate to 8 damage minimum, it's very significant to your winning chances. Most of priest losses happens like that, early streamroll and you take too much damage, later in the game you beat pretty much everything.

I think dragon priest will take off for sure, it's probably one of the best decks to beat raza priests and big druid with and now beats pretty much all aggro. It's pretty crazy.
