https://wccftech.com/nine-parchments-nintendo-great-job/

Nine Parchments is launching on the Nintendo Switch. What was your experience with the console as a developer? Did you have to make significant trade-offs in order to run the game?

We've been enjoying development on Switch a lot. The architecture, documentation and everything has been very well put together, Nintendo has done a great job. Nine Parchments is quite demanding visually, so we're running at 30fps, 1080p in docked and 720p in portable mode. The Switch is definitely a powerhouse considering its size, and the portability really works well for many games. You can even play Nine Parchments in co-op on a single Switch system where each player only uses one Joy-Con!

What are the odds of seeing ports of your previous games such as Trine or Shadwen to the Switch?

I'd say the odds are in favor of the Trine games over Shadwen definitely, but it remains to be seen. They could be a good fit so we'll see what next year brings.

Has-Been Heroes did pretty well for Frozenbyte on Switch, right? After Trine 3 nearly bankrupted the studio it's nice to see Frozenbyte getting back on their feet again.

Weren't the Trine games on Wii U? Pretty sure if the Wii U can handle them so can the Switch....not sure that is the very definition of "powerhouse", but if you include the context of "considering it's size", that does make some amount of sense I guess.

Should've worded the title better, the Trine part has no correlation to it being a powerhouse.

Trine 1 was so good, but I didn't really enjoy the sequel and I haven't played any of their games since. What sort of game is Nine Parchments? That name sounds Slender-esque.

Possibility means that they can consider it not that they're not sure it's possible to run it on Switch

I think they said t did better on Switch than other platforms but as a launch title that's pretty expected, I think.

Yeah, what happened with Trine 3? I only vaguely knew that it was released, and I own the first two games. What went wrong with Trine 3 that nearly bankrupted the company??

I can understand that your hyped about the Switch, but you are omitting quite an important part of what they are saying ("considering its size").

No lies detected. For the size of that thing... is pretty capable. But can't wait for some people that have zero knowledge about development and the Switch trying to play down this statement.

People say the Switch is underpower but is there any handheld console capable of better graphics (within a normal price range for a handheld)?

Trine 2 was great. I remember being sucked into it and playing like 5 hours straight.

Did people go into Vita threads circa 2012 and remind people it's only powerful as a portable?

Nah, too busy mocking its poor sales

Well I kinda copied it off of GoNintendo's post, didn't think it'd be taken as such and that most people would read the article itself, but a mod should change it.
Do you want a new title for the thread? I'm not sure why there is such confusion. One statement is about the power and the other is about the possibility of Trine coming to the platform.

We know exactly what the specs are and what it can do. There's no secret sauce.

It's using a very good two year old soc, which it's still a decent current soc.

Frozenbyte always did well on the technical side. I'm up for Nine Parchments when I have the time to play it.

The Trine series felt great, it really nailed the fantasy look. It was the kind of imagery I imagine when reading the Discworld books, though not as spot on as the actual first Discworld point and click game.

'That doesn't work!'
