Can I pay more money so somebody actually says "You know X we really are Indivisible"

Ginseng and Honey? :P

I haven't been following the thread too closely but have been interested in this game from the jump and am pondering a physical CE preorder.

Apologies if this has already been addressed, but is there a narrower release window beyond 2018 generally? Are we thinking earlier in the year, later, anything?

Currently aiming for Fall 2018.

Wait, Fall 2018? That's a shame. I could have sworn the original Indiegogo said January 2018.

It did, but it took us a lot longer to get setup in our new office than anticipated and really get to work, and we found that concepting/implementing at the same time was slowing us way down and we had to split them in order to do both right.

This is a big game.

Ah, okay. That's fair. Hopefully that extra time really helps. Really hyped about this project.

If L0 can release a video of all of the Incarnations doing the La Macarena, we could hit the last $150k!

It's getting so close to release I'm surprised we haven't seen any examples of cutscenes in the game. Will we see that soon? Loved the backer demo btw.

The thing about crowd funded games is you go in with the expectation it'll be delayed another year from their original estimate and you are normally never disappointed.

I have one game that was supposed to come out like 2 years ago and it still isn't out.

Always add a year to any kickstarted-esq game's release date, both because dates tend to be optimistic and shit happens since its game development.

- I'm planning on getting an higher tier package (likely the shirt one), but see that you can't choose the digital code to be different from the physical choice, which would be an issue for me since I'd like the physical switch release and likely a pc or ps4 digital code. Is it easy/painless to contact Backerkit to change it?

2. BackerKit Customer Service should be able to help with that pretty easily.

So, I can't seem to find the point of contact for that on the BackerKit website... Maybe I've looked in the wrong place, but I can just see a contact adress to the Lab Zero account there, and nothing else.
Does anyone knows about where I can find the proper contact? Thanks!

Nah, it's not that. I thought it would be released in 2019 ahah. I don't have backed this game but it'll be Day 1 for me!

Heh, I know the feeling, only game I ever backed was Hover Revolt

It's a sad state of affairs in Kickstarter games when we're dick sizing bad campaigns lmao

"well my game was a scam!"

"oh yeah? I wish my backed game was a scam instead of what came out!"

I will say that I kind of wish the opposite was happening, at least a little.

As near as I can tell, Skullgirls backers are among the happiest crowdfunding customers, if not the happiest. We had almost zero complaints from the campaign, and considering how small we are, we delivered on the fulfillment better than some much larger campaigns.

While of course a lot of Skullgirls backers showed up to crowdfund Indivisible, the press really never mentioned any of that stuff.

Skull girls probably did as well as it did in terms of customer satisfaction since it was a niche audience inside of a niche gaming genre (all girls cast fighting game) so you knew what you were getting into from the get go.

It helps as well yall did such an amazing job with the hand drawn look, animation and style. And that the gameplay was satisfying. More often than not dissatisfaction comes from major changes from what was pitched that lean towards the negative. And of course if the release date pushes back too long.

For example the game I dislike the direction it wentc (even if I'll ultimately play it) is a western made JRPG-like title. The art style has changed drastically from the original pitch and it's taking forever. I didn't follow the campaign for Skullgirls so I don't know how much changed from the original promise, but I can't imagine it was that much.

Released a new music track today!

Yeah, but aside from that our fulfillment went off without a hitch.

Nothing like Double Fine shipping their physical copies two years after the game came out, Mighty No. 9 shipping the boxes out a year late, etc.

Nice track!

On a crowd funding note: Nothing that I have backed, that has released was a major disappointment other than Torment: Tides of Numenera. Of the stuff that I backed that did not release, they didn't even make their funding goals and I lost no money.

A fellow gaffer, who at least posts updates in the Indie game thread.

The backer preview was great.
Really love how the backgrounds have come along since the beginning demo.

I feel like it goes without saying, but that music is AMAZING.

Also I generally have a favorable impression of every game I've personally backed, but I also have backed many things so I'm very selective. The Skullgirls campaign was the first I ever even considered backing and I remember regretting I hadn't which goes to show how well they handle things. It's kind of a shame that people are becoming disenfranchised with the platform there's quite a few games I've loved and then was surprised to find out during the credits were crowdfunded. Shenmue 3 is the first time I've ever really been worried, but I took Sony's investment as a sign they won't let it be *too* bad so finger's crossed.

Ideally, I don't think Kickstarter should even have dates. The year at most would work, but trying to state a specific month of release when your game is but a prototype or an alpha is ridiculous. It's like presenting someone the first chapter of the book you're writing and them asking you what the day the published book will be on the shelves

All it does is give backers unrealistic expectations and force devs into a corner of having to rush, having to seem like they're doing something wrong if they don't meet that specific time frame. And that's not even considering how any prior planning that went into them trying to come up with a date goes out the window if the project gets massively funded or hits a bunch of stretch goals

This is only the tip of the iceberg.

Kikuta's really been killing it.
Whew boy Ravi, you don't know what you're doing to me...

Kikuta is amazing, I don't know why his involvement kind of flies under the radar when it should probably one of the bigger selling points (read as everyone upgrade to a tier with the OST).

Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but I saw way more, "Oh hey, Valkyrie Profile" or, "Ah man diversity" than I did "Ah shit, Kikuta"

Not to say the other points aren't exciting, just that I'd have thought Kikuta would be a bigger deal.

I think it's a huge deal that this is Kikuta's first full RPG soundtrack since... some Shining game that never came out here?

And we're talking ~2 hour of Kikuta goodness, thanks to that first stretch goal. And I frequently listen to our game's music while I work, like... for fun. So does Mike.

And I have to tell you - when I met him and got dinner with him last TGS, I was just barely able to contain my fanboy. Super nice guy, was fun to talk to.

I walked him through the entire game's story so he understood the emotional arcs, etc. and said at the end it was fantastic.

I can't wait to purchase the soundtrack.

It would be awesome if the soundtrack included Kikuta's interpretation of the guest character music too, though since they're post-release content, that may not be possible.

Very nice to see Kikuta back :)

My apologies if it was already asked (and answered :P ), but is a GOG release planned for Indivisible ?

Ultimately that's up to 505.

It looks like they do have some games up on there, so not sure how exactly they manage that.

If you care about DRM-Free, though, there is a DRM-Free PC option for the physical collector's edition.

This is something I would like to do, but it's really going to come down to how much music we need for our game.

There's also the fact that anything like that will be subject to approvals. And if we have good places to actually, like, use it in the game.

It is what it is. Though a Kikuta rendition of music from Transistor would be--for lack of a better word--bitchin.

Man, he must be cranking out like a piece (or two) a week to meet the deadline. It's going to be super exciting to hear a Kikuta soundtrack of this scope and scale.

Did a new demo release? I enjoyed the first a lot.

Lemme echo the sentiments about Kikuta's work: amazing stuff. Indivisible sounded a dream come true from the concept alone, but Kikuta making the whole OST elevates it to a whole another level.

Tell Mike the platform is on fucking point in this build, it feels smooth and flowing but not slippery. I'm on keyboard that I rarely use to play anything but FPS on and it was really easy to adjust.

I love how intuitive it was when the axe is in the wall that down let's fall and letting go of the axe button sends you up.

In case no else has mentioned and it's not on the to do list, my only feedback after completing it is that it would be cool to see which button is which party member in the party select menu or something along those lines.

Also, Wizard Z at the end was great lol

The party select UI is very temp right now.

The plan for the final is to show the buttons in the cross pattern, and pressing the button on the character will assign them to that slot.
