Hoping this good WOM gets Spiderverse to be successful.

Sony seems to be going all in on the advertising for it so I'm guessing combined with the early screenings and review release they're gonna inundate people with how good the film is.

Nike Air Jordans, Cruise Lines, & 12M Boxes Of Cereal Part Of 'Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse' $115M Promo Campaign

Leading up to its Dec. 14 release, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will receive an extra $115M promotional boost from an array of global brands, making it one of Sony's largest in the studio's history, up there with Spider-Man: Homecoming which counted $140M value. Spider-Verse also outstrips the recent $80M global brand promo of Universal/Illumination's The Grinch.

Typically brands at this time of year seek to capitalize on Christmastime to drive sales, but the fact that they're partnering with Spider-Man speaks to his commercial power, arguably up there with Star Wars.

Hands down.
One of the finest comic book movies of all-time.

Sounds like it's gonna be a case of Mask of the Phantasm where everyone says it's the best character movie, but people will continue to argue around the live action ones.

What I'm saying is, bring back Tobey to do Spider-verse in live action. $2B. Unanimous best Spider-Man movie.

Nah, there's a Star Wars/Jumanji-sized hole (specifically in regards to the family movie-going exerience over the holidays) in this Christmas lineup that I think Mary Poppins will fill.

Also, Nutcracker was bad, and Mary Poppins is being called one of the better films of the year in early buzz. Seems like a good fit in December.

Oh really? That's good to hear. I hadn't heard anything about the early buzz yet.

It does seem like a much, much better December movie to me than both Bumblebee and Aquaman, both of which scream "summer movie" to me.

Oh man, are the knives out for this movie? I've been wishing Joe Cornish luck with it.
I love Joe Cornish, but they haven't really done a good job of selling the film (or potentially it's a damn train wreck). But the boxoffce.com prediction feels more enthusiastic than I would be based on the publicly available metrics. I want it to be good, I want it to do well, I'm... just not seeing that being the case right now. At least I'll always have this:
