Pre-orders are still sales, but thanks for letting me know what's really going on.
The game looks good, but not sure if it's worth €40 if indies like Hollow Knight are only €15. The indie competition on the Switch is insane and this game is much more expensive than most of these games (Steamworld Dig 2, Hollow Knight, Into the Breach, Undertale, Rocket League, Steamworld Heist: Ultimate Edition, Velocity 2X, Guacamelee 1 & 2, Enter the Gungeon, Into the Breach, Stardew Valley, Hyper Light Drifter, Shovel Knight, Celeste, Minit, Abzu, Snipperclips, The Messenger, Outlast 1 & 2, Inside, etc.).

Yes, but one annoying thing is that the spine text is on the top, where on EU boxes the text is in the middle. The actual shape and size of the box are the same though and it's not quite as bad as it was with GameCube, DS or 3DS.

That's not so bad then.
So, so looking forward this, but can't get a console right now (primarily a Steam gamer here) so Q1 2019 which is anywhere between January and March 2019 for the Steam release is going to be one hell of an arduous wait. It'd be lovely if this is releasing in January. That said, very much looking forward to the reviews for this. I think the praise is going to be glowing.
Oh, nice. I pre-ordered it earlier when I posted, but this is even better. Crazy that it's $15 cheaper than the Switch version when both are the same game in terms of content/visuals.
Reassuring! I'm apprehensive about sales, as I adamantly want this game to do well and sell extremely well also to ensure a Monster Boy series, so a bit nervous about incoming reviews and then sales data as I've been wanting this game to succeed even since its announcement. Hope you sell millions dude. The team, with all the love they've given this game, deserves success.
The Switch version is completely dominating pre-order numbers, unless something has changed recently. The PS4 discount probably exists to entice more buyers on that platform...maybe?
Yeah, that's what I figured. I have a Switch too, but I usually buy multiplats on PS4 since I almost always play the Switched docked anyway. Hopefully a lot of people see the deal and jump on it, if they were waiting for a sale like I was going to.
I've had the Switch version preordered since preorders went up. With the PS4 version being so cheap, I'm actually tempted to buy that version as well. I'm so excited about this game, and Wonder Boy was always one of my favorite series, so it'd feel nice to buy both to show my support.
Probably. The publisher mentioned that Switch pre-orders are roughly 3 times PS4, so I suppose they might be facing trouble selling through the PS4 stock.
It was actually 10x earlier this year, but that may have changed.
