Are we expecting to see anything new on that stream? Maybe a final launch trailer ahead of the games release next week?

Kiwami 2 got 37/40 (8,8,7,8) on Famitsu Cross Review.

Honestly I don't know, I think they showed almost everything lol
Maybe they will do some more gameplay...
I'd honestly rather not see any more gameplay though,at least not of some of the bigger set pieces, looking forward to re experiencing those again for myself. At this stage I think I'm more interested in seeing more FOTNS since that has been quiet while Kiwami 2 was showcased.

*edit* just seen the Famitsu score. Is that total correct? Surely a 37 would be 10, 9, 9, 9 (or similar), not that I put any stock into Famitsu scores these days. Especially after them rating Sonic Forces above DJMax Respect...

There's nothing they can spoil now, the story is old, I don't remember it perfectly but...
They already showed most of the minigames, battles etc...

Speaking of FOTNS, there is yet some time to show more about it, I don't think they will show anything special today.
But I need to see more about FOTNS as well, I'm not much hyped about it...mostly because I never watched the anime.

My mistake I copied and pasted the wrong score lol it was 9/10/9/9.

Btw I can't trust famitsu after they gave 36 to Y0 and 39 to both Ishin and 6 (which are in my opinion way under Y0).

39 to Ishin makes sense, game deserves top scores. 39 to 6 was indeed questionable as while technically it pushed the series forward it had many of its own issues. And 0 should have been way higher scoring for sure!

As for FOTNS. I can already imagine how epic it'll be, it suits the team down to the ground to make a Yakuza styled game based on the series. I just want to see more combat, more story, and more retro games! (and also more of the hostess stuff to see just what it entails)

I don't agree on Ishin.
I would give 6 a score between 30 and 35 and to Ishin no more than 36-37.
And a 39-40 to 0.

I'm playing Yakuza 2 via PCSX2 but I'm getting a horizontal and vertical line on my screen after doing the settings and running the game. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

EDIT: Seems it is caused when I change 'Internal Resolution' and set it anything above 2x Native.

At what resolution are you playing?
I had a problem like that when trying to run it at 8K but at original PS2 resolution it was ok.
I set it to Custom and had it at 1600x900 as I am playing windowed with 16:9 aspect ratio.
Those lines are gone but I would like to have it look smoother and cleaner if possible :P

EDIT: Seems even using MSAA causes those lines to pop up.

Well I maxed out all the properties and beat the Real Estate side quest. Now I'm on to the Cabaret Club stuff and I might possibly be even more addicted to this. I didn't think that was possible since I spent 15-20 hours on the real estate stuff but here we are.

Yup. I hope they continue it in future Yakuza games. If they had turned it into a mobile game they'd be cleaning up.

Caberet Club management isn't new to 0. Its been in the series since Yakuza 2 (2, 3 and 4 all had it). Just so happens they managed to completely overhaul the gameplay for 0 to make it way more fun and arcadey instead of a fairly slow and sedate affair. And that's good news all round, as Kiwami 2 using 0's take on the mini game instead of what it was originally is going to make this side of things way more fun. Plus the story looks far more interesting since you get to team up with
Yuki again

I've played 3, 4 and 5, and now I'm playing Kiwami but I don't know if it's just me, but some of the enemies just same way more bullshitty than in the other games. Lots of dudes who just ignore all your attacks, or block every hit and and recover immediately, or counter out of a block before you can react.

Even the first colliseum fight had this big dude who just tanked through every hit, was ungrabbable and did half my life with one combo (including a stomp). I've been leveling up all my stats and haven't been ignoring health ups and damage ups but it just feels like I do no damage to dudes.

Is it just me?

Its not just you. Kiwami is harder and quite a few people have commented about the difficulty level on it. But 4 and 5 are really easy (even on hard mode) so those aren't really a good gauge for difficulty comparison. I personally didn't have problems in Kiwami bar two boss fights (and honestly, one has always sucked so I expected it to suck again!). Especially for the fighting arena, I just used a mix of brawler and rush depending on the enemy and only attack after dodging the enemy attack. Works like a charm every time. Well, Komaki is harder but you really should be trying to tiger drop him!

One more week (and a few hours) until Kiwami 2 release, I'm getting very hyped this time...

I know. Can hardly wait!

So I'm a little ways back into Yakuza 3 again --

-- and holy shit, even though I beat this game when it first came out I pretty much remember none of this lol. It's much better than I remember it being. I really must've just blasted through it the first time because I hardly remember any of the side quests that I've done so far, in particular the murder mystery quest with Date's shinbun friend. I forgot how great Mine is, and maybe I was a little hard on him coming out of Yakuza 2 with Goda Ryuji but yeah, he's been awesome.

Also, I'm sure plenty of people have posted/watched videos/played it, but I shared my Kiwami 2 demo playthrough on my store's Youtube channel. It's just video footage:

All I wanted was to play some hanafuda but I didn't have enough money for the gambling currency. It was the saddest day.

3 rocked for the most part. Sure its got some pretty silly stuff, but so does 4 so I can't really complain. I absolutely love the end game in 3 anyway. Makes me want to replay it yet again...

As for getting lots of money in the demo of Kiwami 2? Get two Black Jack cheat items (one can be found hidden when exploring, one is in a coin locker). Now play a few hands of Black Jack to get the max winnings up a bit higher. Now use a charm and start betting the maximum amount. When first cheat item runs out use the second. Reap the many points you win! Exchange points for plat plates. Sell plat plates at the pawn shop. Now you have more than enough money to do anything in the demo!

My Yakuza adventure started back in 2006, when i played the first game (PAL version). The adventure continued in 2008 with Yakuza 2, which still is my favorite game of the series (and one of my favorite games ever, along with Shenmue 2 and Outrun 2).I remember a 12-13 hour session, when i finished Y2.Then i imported Yakuza Kenzan, and i played for a few hours (i should play it again with a guide).I also imported Yakuza 3 ( i stopped playing the JP version, when the localised one was announced. In late 2011-early 2012 played Yakuza 4.I haven't played Dead Souls.I imported Yakuza 5, but some time later the localised version was announced, so i played that version.I imported the JP Yakuza Kiwami, also because i wanted to play the demo of Yakuza 6.This year i played Yakuza 0, and in the near future i will start Yakuza Kiwami.Anyway that's my brief Yakuza timeline.

Although my favorite game is Yakuza 2, my most played is probably Yakuza 0.

Here are some photos of my collection i took some time ago

Great collection!
I'm a long time fan as well, but I started when Kenzan was already out.
When I first saw Kenzan I was in Japan and I didn't have any gaming console, then I found out it was a spin-off of a series and that there were already 2 games on PS2....
so I choosed to purchase PS2 because it was cheaper and to try 1 and 2 first...and I LOVED them (2 is my favorite one).
I completed Yakuza 2 and the next day I went to a shop and purchased a PS3 and Kenzan.
Since then I played all the Yakuza games (even the 2 spin offs on psp).

Sadly recently I'm kinda disappointed, I didn't like Ishin and I didn't like 6.
0 was a very nice surprise and I hope we can still get some great Yakuza games in the future :)

Here is a picture of my collection too :D
I have a few music CD and the anniversary book too but are not in this photo ^^;

Yo, nice collections guys!

I started 3 years ago with Yakuza 1, loved it so much I had to go through the whole franchise.
Since then I've grabbed the spinoffs, but I haven't gotten around to playing them yet.

Envious of those soundtracks and books.

I need to take a better picture of my collection. It takes up a whole shelf now between Euro releases and an almost complete run of Japanese imports (just missing PS2 RGG2 and the PS3 version of 0).

Okay, this has been the elephant in the room for a long time and I know no-one wants to ask the question, and besides, live and let live and all that, but still, what is up with Nagoshi trying to pass for a bad boy character from the Yakuza universe for all these years now? It has always baffled me and it's been kinda hard for me to take him seriously everytime I see him, no matter how good his games are.

I met him in person and had the occasion to spend a few minutes talking with him and he was actually one of the most kind person I ever met lol
The bad boy character is absolutely only a fashion matter :P

Ooooh, awesome collections there guys! I need to take an updated collection pic as well! I'll wait until after Kiwami 2 hits though. Should I include my Soft on Demand merchandise featuring the various JAV stars from the games? >.>;

Ah, nice! I ended up getting it sorted out on my second play through, but for the stream I'd already spent my money and was a sad panda.

I've been trying to find one of the background songs heard in various games but so far no luck. It's a song played on the radio (when you play bowling in 0 and Kiwami for example) and it's just kinda basic guitar riffs. I would like to get the chance to hear a clearer version without the background noise.

Also, I think we should so to the official Xbox website to ask for Binary Domain to be added to the list of backwards compatible game. I have it on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 but I'd like to play it again on my Xbox One.

I'd be up for that until I can get my PC working again to play the PC port. Need some BD in my life again!

If I remember well he was somehow missable? :/
Yeah, you can't get back into the main city after a certain point in the game which makes any side stories in there null and void (including all hostesses which were required) plus there were some missable/fail-able side stories along the way that could also invalidate the Amon run. Not sure if you can do any of this in premium adventure mode though? But I never touched any of the mini games in Kenzan that weren't tied to side stories (no idea why, I love the mini games in the series) so I may as well start it all over again and properly experience it this time.

I was pretty sure you can visit the whole map always :/
but I'm sure there were something else that is missable coz I wasn't able to fight Amon too at my first run.
It's sad Kenzan is the only yakuza game (of course kurohyou 1&2 too :P) that has not trophies, I wish they had patched it to add the trophy support :(

On chapter 5 of Yakuza 2. I find the fixed camera angles and lack of karaoke to be the game's biggest faults.
