Fable reboot should have the combat of Kingdoms of Amalur.

The Xbox might as well be the home for Sonic games at this point. This is a really cool batch of titles, too. I figured Amalur was somehow lost in ownership heck.

Who actually gets money from Amalur these days? THQ Nordic? The state of Rhode Island? Douchebag McPitcherGuy?

Alien Vs Predator is my biggest pre-release hype regret game I have ever had. I don't know why I bought in so hard but I traded in a bunch of stuff to pre-order it.

Unleashed!

Just do a Colors HD port and we're set.

Yeah, as a diehard Sonic fanboy it really is a great hub for that series.

Now it just needs Colors and maybe Heroes (which could be added by way of Xbox b/c) and Lost World and you pretty much have every mainline title worth playing.

Happy to see so much love for Amalur. I really enjoyed it on release and was surprised at how "meh" of a reception it got.

A couple tips for anyone planning to play Amalur for the first time..

1. Don't do blacksmithing. It's way too good. It lets you build perfectly-suited gear from scraps, and makes all the loot you find useless for anything other than adding to your pile of scraps. The game is FAR more interesting if you have to rely on the more unique weapons and armor that you find in the world. Basically, blacksmithing in Amalur has a similar effect that the Auction House had on Diablo 3.

2. Be aware of how enemy level scaling works, play on hard difficulty, and avoid over-leveling if you don't want the game to become trivially easy.
http://amalur.wikia.com/wiki/Area-Level_Cap_and_"Anti-Overlevelling"_Guide
While there are several quite complicated guides online, detailing when to go where for a constant challenge, you can minimize the risk of over-levelling by following a few simple guidelines:

  • When you first enter a new map area, take the time to fully explore it - but DO NOT enter any dungeons unless you have a quest asking you to go there;
  • If you like to complete all possible side-quests, finish all outdoors quests in one area, and only then move on to the dungeon quests or another map area (see below);
  • Dungeons usually have a slightly higher upper level range than the surrounding area and can, if necessary, be "saved for later";
  • Faction Quest Dungeons usually have a significantly higher upper level range than the surrounding area, and can, if necessary, be "saved for later";
  • Open World Map areas are separated by long, narrow pathways, so unless you want to level-lock the next area, stay away from those until you are ready;
  • Do not use Fate-Shift unless necessary, and if you do, do not try for the XP bonus during the execution;
  • Do not use XP enhancing gear, potions or altars.
  • Do Not Grind

I've been waiting for KoA for a while now, nice!

Now I just gotta find a cheap copy of AvP since I lost my physical copy a while ago.

I had a lot of fun playing through Amalur during my copious amounts of free time after the Sony Online Entertainment layoffs in 2015. XD

Hype for Amalur! Bought it digitally probably a year and a half ago in anticipation for it to arrive on BC, finally paid off. If only it had X enhancements.

Should I go with the 360 version or should I wait for a sale on Steam for the PC version?

This is what I thought as well and never expected it to ever happen. Still wish it also got the "X" enhancement, but still happy that the game is BC compatible and with the other 2 games!

Amalur? Oh shiiiiiit. Always wanted to give that one a shot. Kinda want to wait though because it wouldn't surprise me at all if it ends up in a sale soon.

Probably stupid question, but I am gonna assume the disc versions will also work, right? Only BC games I bought were digital.

I don't blame ya, the game had hype trailers and good marketing. The campaign and multiplayer had its moments but it was overall pretty mediocre.

Remember THQ Nordic bought the IP rights to it 3 months ago and with EA as the publisher and both companies supportive of BC, it was inevitable it was going to happen soon.

Cool, can't wait to see a frame rate test on the X and S.
Even a stable 30 would be an improvement. I don't think the 360 version was quite as bad, but on the PS3 version of Unleashed the frame rate could drop into single digits in Jungle Joyride.

Just ordered a pre-owned copy from eBay, excited to play it.
