This is just from me reading people's impressions, but it seems to me like fans of DS1 tend to like this a bit more than fans of DS2, even if they still put it below DS1.
Jim says you get boots that let you walk on the floor in water sections, but if you take them off you swim.
Deracine wants to talk to you. I don't remember any game with such a high/low difference lol
Nah they didn't. They should have gone straight into the ending of 1 like every Darksiders fan wanted them to. They chose the format after DS1 was finished. The studio that created the series really shot themselves in the foot by guaranteeing that they had to make four sequels due to the format set by the first one.
Yeah that's what I meant to say. I mean a game for EACH of the four horsemen? And on top of that they have to do a fifth and final one! That's a tall order for a new studio, especially for a series with more than a modest budget. They essentially Kojima'd themselves.Nah they didn't. They should have gone straight into the ending of 1 like every Darksiders fan wanted them to. They chose the format after DS1 was finished.
Darksiders 2 while decent was certainly a disappointment to me and many others for this reason (not) alone.
Finished it for review tonight. It's dark souls meets Zelda. Bosses are fun. Games not Dark Souls difficult. Little bit of Metroid splashed in there with new moves giving you new ways to explore and secret bosses and areas. Really enjoyed it. This is one of those games that falls between indie status and AAA game. We need more games of this quality.
Some reviewers scoring it as bad as fallout 76, seems pretty crazy to me.

That's a pretty huge scale.
Wouldn't it be accurate to call it mid-tier? The tier that became all but extinct last gen.
Well, I'm really enjoying it. I'm playing on balanced difficulty and it seems pretty fair. The camera certainly doesn't do you any favors while locked on against multiple enemies in tight quarters, but overall I'm having a great time. Hopefully people will give this a chance. It shows its budget, sure, but it has a nice flow to it, and the environments ar fun to explore in.
This review made no sense, this person speaks about how he likes the game but it seems the only issue is the camera in which he then gives the game a 62 lol, seemed so random.
This game is awesome. what the hell are reviewers talking about. Its like they havent ever played a souls game and dont know how they are structured. Im having an absolute blast.
Just like Lords of the Fallen? Copying something doesn't make the copy good.
Too bad it's reviewing so badly. I didn't expect glowing reviews, but not this bad either.
I'll probably get it on the first discount.
Thats because its not bad at all. Please support the developers here. They really did well with the small budget they were given.

So does it feel like the AA or B tier games we got a lot of in the past gens? The Saboteurs, the REd FAction Guerrillas?Finished it for review tonight. It's dark souls meets Zelda. Bosses are fun. I read some of the reviews and it reads like it is just a little bit worse than the previous ones which I get sucks, but the studio went through some shit so even getting 3 was a good thing. I have no basis since I have yet to play it but this all feels like a complaint because the game is not trying to be the "next best thing". I think it is ok to be just mid tier and lower scores for it are ok too. Seems like a solid 7-8 game.

It seems like we forgot those kinds of titles were a thing and unless it is AAA or indie there is no middle ground anymore.
hows the ending or at least the middle of the game? What the fuck?? This game is fantastic... Fuck the reviewers lol
How do you support the devs most?
On Steam they have to give 30% to Valve i think?
So physical copy i guess?
Or isnt that how it works?
They will get more money if you buy digital from stores.
Physical copy cut is more than 30%, digital is 30%.
Wow its literally unplayable for me. Laptop nice spec (1060 graphics, 16 GB RAM) with 1080 screen. The game only displays 2/3 of the screen, as if its rendering say 1440p but instead of scaling down to 1080, I just see the portion unscaled (ie the rest of image is unseen, outside the edges of my screen)
Incredible, I mean its just 1920x1080 surely one of the most common resolutions that people play in
Beyond disgusted at this. Bought cheap from a key store so I cant get a steam refund.

This also happened to me. Changing the display mode to windowed then to fullscreen fixed the resolution problem for me.
Thq nordic are the publisherI was really thinking this game was going to disappoint after some of the reviews, but man--this game is surprising me. On PC it's a pretty game too. They don't make enough games like this anymore. Even though it's not some big open world (which is ironically a blessing after this year) the exploration is great and the things they hide and cram into an area excites me each time I stumble upon a hidden nook. It really is a rewarding title.
I don't like Fury and haven't since they revealed her design, but I'm glad I decided to give it a go. I didn't realize how much I missed these types of more focused games until I started plowing through it. I didn't think THQ could do it--and really didn't want them to even try since I loved the first 2 games--but they did a pretty damn good job with this one.
I'm almost done with the story, 1 boss left and I give it same score. It's really disappointing. DS2 will probably stay the best in the franchise for long timePlayed it, reviewed it. Bottom line is that with all the bugs and badly executed combat its a fairly decent game - but only from a binge sale.
Gave it 2/5
