A bit late in the day for this, but Chrono.gg has Battletech and the Flashpoint expansion for 25% off. Or you can buy them separate in which case the expansion is still 10% off.

I really like Darksiders III so far. Also I just got an "Envy" foil card drop from it, which is ironic I suppose

If you have Humble subscription it's 19% there (10% off otherwise). That's Steam though.

Edit: 26% off on greenmangaming. How is Battletech now days? I was very much underwhelmed at launch and never came back really.

has anyone played far cry 4 co op with someone?
i've read you can't progress through the story and can only do side missions. How annoying is it to try to play though the story with someone else while doing that?

Thank you!

I think the main problem is that the industry can't possibly support all the GaaS titles coming out, with all of them demanding the player's constant engagement.

I think the drops around this time of year are built into the business model and retailers often take a hit to get people in stores.

Bigger games are moving to long term service like strategy. These deals help them in the long term as games will stay relevant for multiple years now. It's like an early access discount to boost population then those people make their friends buy.

The business knows how much it cost to acquire a user on average and expected long term return. Usually you see base game only with early cuts because just getting you in means they can make more later when you have to buy the dlc and you get your friends to buy.

The timing of the phases of course is based on many factors. But now everyone knows thanks to data that performance of a longer term experience can be managed up and you can still end up on top in the end.

If a company is still investing resources then they still feel it's worth it business wise or may be using it as learnings for the next thing. When you see resources drop, marketing stop, and the C team left to maintain you know they consider it a loss or are ready to transition users to the next thing.

New Assassin's Creed Odyssey added option that we don't see often in games.

https://assassinscreed.ubisoft.com/...ins-creed-odyssey-1-1-0-and-1-1-1-patch-notes
it also added (is adding? not sure) a "paragon" system for xp after you reach the cap with a bunch of stuff you can put points into. Crazy post-game support, at least for something that isnt a mmo or something.
By the time I get around to play this it will have transformed itself into a isometric real time strategy game.

That's somehow more insulting than telling the person they aren't intending to do anything about it. Sheesh.

Agreed. It almost reads like a joke account.

Bethesda is just waiting for their next financial quarter to free up funds then they will claim the entire company was hacked and make good on everything...right ?

Just to add to this because it really is a different perspective once out of core development but businesses also do predictive analysis these days. The rest of gaming just catching up with mobile but I also feel I have seen it before as a developer.

All of a sudden really big project with big team loses half the team to something else and gets rescoped.

There is definitely enough data out there to predict launch performance for established franchises. Now of course there are margins of error but I doubt business analysts are super shocked most of the time.

Companies end up with two main options. Analysts predict best time to launch , then predicts performance expectations. The closer to launch the more accurate.

About 3-6 months out critical decisions are made. Highly likely to be behind previous versions and the same investment went in then you either cut and delay unannounced features and shift resources off ASAP and launch anyway hoping you can turn around or you delay if you think potentially a better date is in the future and you feel you can add more features to help impact potential launch performance.

I've been on teams in both scenarios but of course the business side isn't as openly communicated as it is in mobile.

Other times the return expected is just not realistic, not every executive believes in data or believes they have an outlier project on their hands.

How do I send a Steam Support ticket now? I have ten gifts of Dead Island Epidemic and two gifts of Gun Monkeys in my Steam inventory I would like to delete but I can't find where to send a ticket.

What are atoms? Currency in the game? If so.......they might as well not have said anything.
It's $5 worth of microtransaction currency.
These people bought a $200 collector's edition.
They also gave 500 atoms to some people who complained to Bethesda support about the game being 50% off after a week.

You can see what 500 atoms can get you here: https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/fallout-76-atomic-shop-heres-everything-you-can-bu/2900-2356/27/
(1800 atoms for power armor paint. A paint job. Roughly $18.)

"We're sorry. Here, have some in-game currency for the game you regret purchasing."

Plot twist , you can now use that digital currency to buy a digital replica of the advertised version of the bag in game!

I'm actually waiting for that to be the next tweet at this point.

Haha, that certainly is a distinct possibility.

I didn't bother commenting on this cause I just don't care about Fallout 76 but this is so fucking hilarious now, it's like they want to make it worst.

So I just went to Bethesda's website and there's no mention of the bag at all in the text of the Power Armor edition anymore (if there was), but in the picture of the set it still clearly says canvas bag. Isn't that actually false advertising? Like I get that term gets thrown around in stupid ways all the time, but... it says canvas... and you get nylon... soooooo....

Also the Atoms system itself is insulting and offering 500 of them for actually misrepresenting their product to current or pre-purchasers is just EA levels of disregard.

Yes. Bethesda, you, and I all know that no one will actually take them to court over this, though.
Maybe. Gamers be uppity lately though. This whole thing was kicked off this morning by the poor person sharing that rather special email response, and it has just spiraled into a tornado of dumb PR over the course of a day. I can't imagine they sold tons of $200 editions but all it takes is 1 person being angry enough.

I don't really hate Bethesda but this whole thing is incredibly dumb on their part and I truly hate things like the Atoms system so I wouldn't shed any tears.

Edit: Honestly, the fact they haven't removed that image saying it's canvas alone is pretty spectacular

I'm happy to see all the negative reviews for Artifact, with F76 getting ripped apart in reviews, I hope Arfifact is next :D

Posting on the internet and obtaining legal council are two wildly different levels of effort, time, and money

Out of all the Tony Hawk games which ones got decent PC ports? That scale rather decent with more modern hardware? I saw some footage of THPS4 and it looked rough at times.

~3 hours in, and I'm not gonna lie, Echoes of Aetheria kinda has its hooks in me. I don't even know how I found out about it, it was in some thread around here, but it got me.

RPGMaker games get no respect, generally justifiably so, but this game's got a solid combat system, pretty decent character customization/build options, there's crafting, the writing is basically fine, and it plays super duper easy breezy. No random encounters, quick combat animations, well-paced cutscene dispersal, snappy everything. The field map visuals are RPGMaker plastic garbage, and the portrait art isn't great, but the battle sprites and animation are generally very good+. I'm not saying that it's as good a game as lesser renowned classics like Suikoden 2 or Lufia 2 or things around that tier, but having gone back to those games recently, it's hard to argue that it isn't more playable.

I dunno if it's worth $15 now, but I had to pick between this for $3.50 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for $4.99 with some refund money at the end of the Black Friday sale, and I have zero regrets about going with Echoes of Aetheria.
