Capcom took the legal route and issued DMCA takedowns, so please don't blame the era mods on this one, they really had no say in the matter. Mods: the link above does not have screens in it, just an update on Capcom's takedown orders.
Back on topic, I think it is cool that Robert Kendo seems to have an expanded role. He provided the S.T.A.R.S team with a bunch of basass guns, so if we are lucky, this may lead to Leon/Claire getting ahold of a sweet Samurai Edge in game.
I think they already confirmed that 4th Survivor is in the game. And possibly tofu as well. I am curious as to if they will put in a Raid mode-ish Extreme Battle Mode like they had in the Dual Shock Edition,
No, no, they mean the scene where the UMB operatives steal the G Sample and escape and only HUNK survives. That scene.
...Whoa, wait, maybe that is where Leon finds the 3-Burst Attachment to his VP-70. Or...is a kind of a hub spot to craft attachments for other weapons?
Oh the bit that takes place immediately before 4th Survivor. Yeah it would be cool if they expanded the whole mode to be more the size of Separate Ways in RE4.

Actually, that flashback sequence took place about a week or two before the start of RE2, iirc. Some of the T-Virus vials the USS team took with them broke when Birkin attacked them in the sewers. The contents of the vials were then ingested by rats and spread throughout the city.

Don't like the sound of expanded Ada and Sherry segments. Nothing like a good ol pace-breaking gimmick section.
Wait what. So Birkin infected himself, killed a bunch of USS members, and injured Hunk, who was then rendered unconscious. Then the mutated William not only sat on his thumbs for a week, but also held off from mutating as well ,so that he could do all his mutating over a few hours for Leon and Claire a week later? What a show-off!
Seriously though, that makes no sense at all. That Birkin magically held off on mutating for a week.
I know you aren't wrong, the official timeline places him infecting himself on the 24th of September in the wee hours of the morning, and his confrontation with Leon/Claire and full mutation was on the 29-30th of September, 6 days later.
I guess that isn't the only unbelievable pat of RE lore. The fact that official canon has Hunk as being unconscious for 7 full days ( which no human could survive without someone feeding you/giving you water) before waking up and making his escape with the G-sample.

In the exact same spot he attacks Claire? I'm thinking Leon escapes by creating the blockage that Sherry ends up hiding behind on Claire's route.
Sherry, sure. But Ada is not gimmicky, if anything, she elevates the gameplay element and makes you depressed the moment you switch back to Leon and eager for the next point where you switch control to Ada again.

IIRC Birkin only mutates in response to the damage he receives, it's not spontaneous.
Holy shit! I never thought of that. Makes perfect sense. Now we just need to explain how Hunk could stay unconscious for 7 days ad not die.
It's not pace breaking if it's done right and in service to the plot arc at that point, instead of just being shoehorned in.
Also, regarding the Ada section (possible spoiler from the Metro article).
The article says that Ada goes unconscious at the end of her section, so that might be a slight alteration of the Annette/Ada/Leon bit, where she sorta just stands there after taking the ladder down, or is shooting the alligator before Leon arrives.
That too no less with his face down in the water (granted he seems to be wearing a gas mask .. I don't think those things have enough oxygen to last 7 days in a single go).

The firsr post is correct, the Golgotha G-Virus repairs the point of severe impact.
Notice where they shoot William Birkin before he injects himself with the G sample. Then think about what part of his body got mutated big time afterwards.

The one you unlock in REmake was a model he was working on with Barry that wasn't adopted by the time of RE1.

Yes I know he is canon, but he only talks to Leon for a few seconds before dying. And Leon isn't S.T.A.R.S. My hope is that he may provide Leon, or Claire with a Samurai Edge, or some other fun custom gun parts. RE2 had gun upgrading, as did RE3, but it would be cool to make it a bit more canon by having Kendo provide the "custom parts" as opposed to just finding them laying around.

Only Leon had the upgrades yeah. While Claire had the luxury of different grenade types.
My bad I thought you were suggesting the STARS element was part of new expanded backstory for him.
Claire can upgrade her Grenade Launcher in this one, there is an upgrade to its stock found in some of the footage.
I think Kendo's a thing just because they want to expand the character parts a bit, same with Marvin.
Oh goodness no. Just that Kendo might have some spare Samurai Edge bits laying about. We know he sent a memo to the S.T.A.R.S. office saying he had completed the Samurai Edge custom. (Which makes its presence in RE Deadly Silence and REmake a bit confusing,). That fax came in when Jill visited the office, so it's likely that the parts were still at Kemdo's shop when Leon made his way there.
What is the deal with the Samurai Edge anyway? Is that a retcon? I don't remember it existing prior to RE3.
Totally retconned. All STARS members have them but none of them were known to be picked up after they'd passed. They were approved by Irons in 1998 and further improved by Joe Kendo after the Mansion Incident which is the time of the fax in 3.
In RE5 Wesker had a variant of the gun which is modified and in RE7 Chris throws Ethan a version of the gun. Quite cool that they keep bringing it back. In the odd numbered games 1, 3, 5, Revelations 1 and 7
Rebecca has hers in 0, Barry has his Samurai Edge in Revelations 2, and when Revelations 1 released on 3DS Jill didn't have hers.
That made me a bit sad as I always took Jill for the sentimental type. Maybe that's why they gave it back to her in the HD releases.
