If anyone is picking up the Collector's Edition and wants to sell their code for the PS4 version of Persona 4 Dancing, hit me up.

Complete as in DLC included?

Because no such version exists for the years old P4DAN and I don't recall ever seeing the DLC go on sale either
Even the P4DAN included in the PS4 bundle doesn't come with any of the DLC

Deep physical price drops might not take too long
Digital, maybe
There will probably never be a complete version. Atlus is being scumbags with this DLC.

Edit: I'm watching some gameplay videos and was Vic Mignogna sick during recording? Junpei sounds so bad.
Welp.

I guess no dancing games for me then.

Japanese limited editions only, not on any streaming service. Kind of surprised they didn't include it with the PS4 combo version over here.
Man I really don't understand why they do this stuff. Why not at least release it digitally in the west if you literally have the albums already made? It seems like easy money to me.

I believe if I were to purchase one, it would probably be persona 3. I'd much rather replay Persona 5 than play the dancing edition. I really, really wish P3 could be remade using the tech for P5. I do not need any new additions, gameplay revised, or anything like that - just those beautiful visuals.

Interesting, may I ask why? I played the demos of the games on PS4, but the full versions on Vita. To my knowledge, the only notable difference is VR compatibility, and the PS4 versions being 60 fps.

Wait, what's wrong with the Vita versions?

What's wrong with the vita versions? I love P3 so I was looking forward to grabbing it eventually, but I have a hard time playing it on a large screen :(

Performance issues that impact the gameplay at times but are especially present in the menus, longer load times, more muffled audio, and everything is just slower. Not just because the target framerate is halved (shooting for 60 vs shooting for 30,) but just animation to animation transitions, character models moving around, it all just feels like it's in molasses when compared directly to the PlayStation 4 version where everything is snappy and instant. I guess if you didn't have the PS4 version to compare to it'd just feel like it's running a tiny bit slower than P4D, but compared to the PS4 version it's night and day. If you're REALLY gunning for the Vita version and are okay with the significant-enough performance hit then there's nothing especially different with the on-card content - just also be aware that the DLC songs, even the free songs, make the file size grow fast. The games on Vita are ~4GB each (download only,) and the DLC songs range in file size from 30-200 MB on Vita (50-600 MB on PS4,) with costumes also adding a somewhat significant file size. Also keep in mind that buying the DLC songs for one game gets you it for both, so you'll be installing each song twice on the same system if you have both. Between the enormous file sizes relative to memory cards, the performance issues, a slight blurriness and muffled audio, load times, etc., it all just feels like a markedly inferior version as someone who's played both and was already used to the PS4 version from the Japanese release.

Also super minor, which is why I'm separating it, I find hitting the scratch notes with the analog sticks on Vita (or touch screen) harder than using the sticks on the DualShock 4. You can remap to L/R, which is why this is pretty much a non-issue, but I didn't want to do that because I play a lot of Project Diva Future Tone.

Do you have any questions? You can use PSVR as basically a character model viewer, or to walk around the bedrooms of the characters in their rank 6, 7, and 8 social links. The VR is well done in that it doesn't make me motion sick like some does, but the scenes are so isolated that it feels like you're constantly taking the headset on and off. I used it once per room at the end, personally. Walking around uses left analog stick and it's a smooth gliding movement, which sounds worse than it is in practice FWIW.

I also got the chance to play the Vita versions. Don't.

Thats cool, thanks for the update! Is VR only for wondering around or can you also play it while playing songs?

VR is only for bedroom exploration and character model viewer. You can play the rest with the headset on like you can any game, but that's just Theater Mode.

Thank you! very informative.

I think I'll be okay with the vita version bc I greatly preferred playing p4d to the p3/p5 ps4 + e3 demo. I just had a hard time tracking it and I actually way prefer the vita scratch notes personally (unless they've been changed in p3d/p5d!) It is disappointing to hear that it plays worse than p4d and just seems way more barebones :(

Good to know about file size. I'll have to check out what space I have left. Are the songs cross buy?

The songs are four-way cross-buy!

If you buy a song, you get P3D PS4, P3D Vita, P5D PS4, and P5D Vita all in the same purchase. The same with characters.

Costumes are game-specific, so if you buy the P5D Yakuza crossover costume set, for example, you'll only get it for P5D PS4/P5D Vita. This is actually frustrating for costume sets that exist for both games, because in the JP version it was 1,000 yen per game, while the songs were 250-100 yen for both together.

Have the Endless Night collection fully paid off but won't be able to pick it up tomorrow as I'm bedridden atm so I'm eyeing the PSV versions. Just gotta figure out which games to clear off the memory card for now. Damn those expensive vita memory cards :(

What's up with the song DLCs? I thought some song DLCs were free for the JP version, but it doesn't look like it for the English version.

Also can I buy the costume DLC individually instead of the bundle? I'm only interested in the Yakuza costume.

Very weird setup for the DLC. Seems some content will be bundle-only, which will reeaally suck if it's particular costumes or songs. Stuff like contact lenses or hair colors, I wouldn't lose sleep over.

Remains to be seen for America, some of it might be free still, but it's awful for Europe since it's all bundle only here, and we get less in the song bundle than America.

And it's not cross buy either for some reason.

Man I better be able to at least buy the songs with dancers separately. I only want maybe Sho and Theodore.

So you have to buy the DLC for both the PS4 and Vita versions unlike what happened with the Japanese games where you got both versions?

The fact that Akechi and Shinjiro are pre-order bonuses hopefully means you can buy at least the new dancers seperate.

I also hope you can buy costumes separate but eh.

I'm really gonna flip my shit if they charge free DLC songs in the English version and force us to buy costume bundles instead of individual DLC.

Dancers aren't included in the song pack, so they should be available separately.

Going by the initial list on Atlus' site, the P4D DLC won't even be available until January in Europe at least.

So only those 12 songs are bundle only in the US?
And no cross buy DLC

I'm actually impressed at the level of scumbag Atlus has reached with these titles

They took an ultimate fan service idea (Games celebrating the music of a franchise) and turned it into the ultimate money grabbing fuck you to fans
Suddenly MvC:I doesn't seem like such a bad deal in comparison

At least they let us know before the games released

Edit: Whoever's making the English OT, if there even is one, please slap this DLC nonsense right at the top so no one can possibly miss it

That's really annoying. On top of that I believe they're charging full price for the P4D DLC again if you want that on PS4.

This is what I'm desperately waiting for. I need confirmation on this. I've heard you don't need to buy them again, I've heard you get them at a discount, I've heard you have to buy them full price. I guess we won't know for sure until tomorrow.

That list doesn't include the four other character DLC

so it'll be more than that
which 4 characters are DLC?
and the persona 4 dancing DLC will work with the games as well right. Also the characters are all cross platform, so if someone buys the 3 (at least I only see 3) persona 4 dancing chracters they will show up in 5 as well right?

The other 4 for the new games are Sho, Labrys, Theadore, and Lavenza. Those are $5 each.

None of the Vita P4DAN DLC is compatible with anything I believe.
I've seen people mention they own the vita dlc and have to pay in full again for the PS4 dlc

The P3/P4/P5 DLC is not cross platform. You would need to buy all your DLC twice over if you want to play them on both platforms
And none of the P4DAN DLC is compatible with the new games. The new games were not designed to support the old stuff

Yeah, it's pretty fucked. They had an excellent opportunity for a Rock Band or PD Future Tone like platform here but they went with the option to
squeeze more money out of their fans

Yeah the scoring system is probably the only thing I wish was different. IMO if you finish a song and don't die. It should be cleared. So odd to finish a song and hear that snarky "Not Clear". A minor complaint though .
