Studio said they were thinking of making it a TV show.
Actors laughed
Last I heard of it.

I really want a Real Steel sequel, Jackman bombed enough to consider one yet?
He made a deal with Satan and The Greatest Showman made bank.
I could've sworn that movie's opening box office was shit...
The price of that deal was being friends with Ivanka Trump. He made a deal with Satan and The Greatest Showman made bank.

Which will bomb worse: Artemis Fowl or Dark Phoenix?
It was, in large part, I feel, due to dreadful critic reviews. Then audiences loved it, and positive word of mouth made it a hit.He made a deal with Satan and The Greatest Showman made bank.

Depends on Dark Phoenix's budget.
If it's a Justice League situation? DP. If not, Artemis Fowl, unless Disney Marketing can turn things around during the second trailer.
Joaquim Dos Santos, known for his work on cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender and more recently, Netflix's Voltron series, has been tapped to direct the sequel.
At the same time Lauren Montgomery, who also worked on Voltron and co-directed animated movies Batman: Year One and Superman/Batman: Apocalypse for DC, is in negotiations to helm an untitled Spider-centric project that will gather the female heroes in the Spider-Man universe of characters in one adventure. Bek Smith, who wrote episodes of CBS show Zoo, will pen the script.

Unfortunately, this is true. Everyone go watch it or don't complain about Venom 2-6.
Justin Tipping rumored to be at the helm of Harbinger.
Have no idea who he is, but please make Valiant movies good, Sony.

Something has to go catastrophically wrong for Spiderverse to do badly.
It probably ain't gonna be quality based on the 30 minute preview I've seen. And even if it somehow falls apart in the last act. Quality didn't stop Venom.
Spiderman as a franchise is still really big thanks to Homecoming, Infinity War, The Spiderman Game, heck even Venom, Venom even had a post-credits stinger for Spiderverse.
Heck, Spiderverse 2: Featuring Venom-num-num-na-na-num alone is an easy enough sequel Sony can make for it.
Nah preview was great, sorry if I phrased that badly. Greatly enjoyed what I saw in the first 30 minutes.
The only way the film reviews badly is if the quality somehow nosedives in the rest of the film. I don't think that's going to happen.
Sony has had an uncanny ability to lure talent onto projects.
Doesn't mean they'll get made, Sony loves plans, but I don't think we're seeing signs of Spider-verse crashing yet.
It's gonna be successful but some people in here seem concerned about it not doing well for some reason.

Disappointed that I couldn't make it to the preview in my neck of the woods. If you don't mind my asking, how was the Lego movie styled jerkiness to movement on the big screen? Did it distract at all, did you 'get used to it', or did it never seem to hamper the visuals and story?
What about the original Lego Movie? I don't see it making $257MM domestic, but $470MM worldwide seems reasonable to me?Yeah I might have to upgrade that prediction I made for it from 'Lego Batman+' to "Lego Batman on HGH'

Lego Batman only did $311m when I was hoping it would make at least double that (I definitely felt that it deserved it).LEGO Batman was pretty successful. Just not some huge massive smash hit, but it didn't need to be at its budget. I believe I saw Spider-verse has a budget of $90M. I'm sure it'll be enough of a success to make Sony happy.
Cantbeworsethandisneysversion/10Anyone know when reviews for Mowgli are dropping? Premiere was on the 25th and limited theater engagements start tomorrow.

They seem to be more willing to give features to talented people than the other major studios. Wonder if these same folks are leery of working with smaller studios where their stuff may not get any attention?
Decade too late.
Excellent.
You are dreaming too much. Let's wait for at least first week domestic and overseas numbers.Even if it breaks out Domestically through WOM, I think that a decent chunk of its potential in doing that will be drown out by the other movies over the season. But That's totally doable, it will probably rely on the global market even if stateside overperforms.
Sony would be over moon fucking thrilled with 500M and great critical reception. Suddenly they'd have Venom(verse?), Jumanji, and Spiser-verse as tentpoll franchises, and it would be easy for them to keep making new Spider based CG movies with proven animated talent.
Now let's wonder what happens if both MIB and Valiant price successful.
The press will be writing about 'the genius of Sony' like the days of old after Spider-Man came out.
They seem to be being pretty cagey about offering talented people 'upgrades' (such as TLA guy) and finding those who might already be on the 'movie' level but have gotten lost in the shuffle.
If Spider-verse and OUATIH, I'm pretty much ready to call this a Sony Pictures Renaissance.
