Developed side characters that aren't just walking punchlines, good action, a lead that hasn't regressed in motivation from his previous movie appearance (why I gotta watch a two hour movie for this kid to learn lesson he already knew before he even showed up in Civil War) > more "comicbook accurate" lead.
I'm very curious at what you expect to get out of this exchange, do we really have to go through the same song and dance where now the onus is on someone else to disprove an assertion that's largely subjective?

Who quoted who first? Say that to the other guy.

I thought it would be 8 as well but I now see it says "after 8am"...
Now I feel like I'm playing Ace Attorney.

So despite three other people directing this, are y'all gonna do that thing where all the credit goes to Lord and Miller because those are the names you know and like.

The other directors should get some play in the OT though, since we're on the subject.

West Coast, USA
Tickets are on sale now.

But uuhhh... I don't see any Dolby Cinema showings. Only normal 2D and 3D. Don't see IMAX either, though I'd rather do Dolby Cinema.

Can not wait to see this! It looked straight up amazing from the first trailer so the reviews don't surprise me that much.

I was going to see it anyway as it's spiderman and the animation is amazing but glad to hear the movie itself is great.

I'm terrified that there are going to be ten billion people at that PS+ showing on Saturday and I won't get in despite having tickets. I can't get there that early and have been turned aside at these types of showings many times...

Sony one-two punching Marvel with first Venom and now Spider-Man.

Can you imaging being Marvel and your most beloved character belongs forever to Sony?

I saw a reputed industry reporter state recently they were told from a representative from Marvel that Sony not only owns the film rights to Spider-Man but they own a part of the character and that Disney/Marvel are never going to fully have Spider-Man back.

How true is this?

So is all the discussion around this movie going to be these weird NTR-esque company wars posts?

Its false. They own 0% of the character. Sony doesn't even have merchandising rights anymore. Those were negotiated away back to Marvel a few years ago.

They have film rights, that's where it ends.

It's very likely. With the success of Venom you know they're going to want Spiderman back in the universe.

This crap movie has given Sony added confidence.

The trailers were pretty good, and I'm glad the impressions are positive. Sadly have to wait until the official release.

The level of discourse nowadays about these flicks our /co/ tier here, I shudder to think about how bad the Aquaman threads are.
I dont click on Aquaman threads, but the Comics OT said they had dudes diggin through previous tweets to undermine the reactions of critics, so you know how that story is gonna go

Welp, here's hoping this movie's guaranteed success paves the way for some non-Superhero action/adventure animated theatrical movies.

Who am I kidding, shit's gonna be Spider-Man and MAYBE TinTin for the rest of my life.

Will Marvel follow suit & produce their own animation films like Cap, Iron man, Black Panther, etc?

I think they have potentials if live action MCU movies starts to slow down.
