It's good that GDQ came around to the right decision, but they really jumped the gun earlier. When you announce you're doing an investigation, you should actually, you know, investigate. At the very least, don't post your conclusions until you are 100% certain of them.

Also, runners can be replaced with other people who run the game, as has been done several times in the past for differing circumstances.

I've spent the vast majority of my life posting on godawful message boards inhabited exclusively by vile pieces of shit, and Cyberdemon easily ranks among one of the worst posters I've ever seen.
Its almost like they realized just how much of their fanbase shit like this alienates and that MAGA chuds are quickly becoming not the majority anymore at these events.

big oof. graviton is undoubtedly a piece of shit, but i also doubt anyone can change their views so radically within one year (afaik cyberdemon/pizzaparty got banned just last year for wearing a MAGA hat?). i don't know, man.

GDQ seriously screwed up the initial response. They should have kept quiet until they finished investigating. Good that they did the right thing in the end, though
I don't think they ever were the majority. I kinda doubt people who associate with terrible people like Goose would ever donate anything for these events.
Yeah I'd agree its a bit uncharitable to see any intentional malice from GDQ here.
The biggest problem is they really did fuck all investigating. I say fuck all investigating because it really wasn't difficult to find Grav's garbage. People including myself dug up Grav deleting shit from The-Elite within like an hour of this thing blowing up. Which prompted people to look through the web archives, which was probably the nail in the coffin.

As much as this forum can get riled about things, this is one of those times that threatening to dropping support from whoever (GDQ, in this instance) for letting scumbags be scumbags is an understandable reaction. Disgusted with a decision they made? Find another group to support.

This should've been easy for GDQ. Instead they completely botched it before pulling a 180, and come off looking opportunistic rather than genuinely moral. Even if the result is them "doing the right thing in the end" I don't know how comfortable I feel about this whole affair.
I had no idea about hateful stuff getting by on their streams until this thread either. My opinion of GDQ is definitely damaged.

it's ugly, but then the people that hate inwardly the most also tend to hate outwardly the most too. Hard to say much for sure there.

He's been a MAGA guy since at least before the 2016 Election.
It sucks because he makes good videos and I legitimately think he's kind of funny (he's in the best episode of NTBTS) and I was willing to write the MAGA stuff off as just being irony, but it's pretty clear that isn't the case.
