got a note today that iPhone X will be available for Apple Employee discount on December 5th, I'm guessing SIM-free models will be available then too
How much off do employees get on iPhones?got a note today that iPhone X will be available for Apple Employee discount on December 5th, I'm guessing SIM-free models will be available then too
Yeah, sorry. My question was more general, your comment just prompted it.
The standby battery life on this phone is incredible. Often during the day while I work it just sits on the desk unloved. I went six hours yesterday and it didn't move off 100%.
25% personal, 15% for friends and family
Oh, this is quite the discount. Cheers
If you want an unlocked phone in the US, there isn't any reason NOT to get the Verizon model, is there?
got 3 friends been bugging me about it for weeks haha
Ironically, the Google apps I use are all updated for X: Youtube and Google Translate.
Prefer Apple Maps and Mail app.
I'm still running series 0. It's fine for almost everything I use it for. The big thing I want now is AirPods. I currently have the beats solo 3 but after researching it and buying them for the wifey, I think I need my own set.I still have a Series 0 Watch and while yeah, it's definitely sluggish, but when I check my notifications/time/weather (which is 90% of my use case for the Watch) it's perfectly fine. Yeah, pulling up app cards is slow, but is my life a wreck because I have to wait an extra couple seconds for the heart rate monitor to show up? No, it's fine for now. So if price is a concern, don't feel you have to have the S3 unless you plan to use a lot of app features.
Am I the only one that thinks the X is slower than the 7 a bit? I noticed booting up apps on my 7 is faster than my X somehow
It's very noticeable and annoyingThere's some RAM fuckery that's going on with the new phones and iOS 11 for some reason
Apologies if this has been discussed multiple times already but I currently have an iPhone 7 Plus. I use it a lot to watch videos and to even read with the Marvin app.
Obviously the X screen is narrower (plus the notch), but for anyone who has an X and came from a Plus phone, how has your video or reading / generally smaller screen affected you?
I know I would be trading screen real estate for a better screen with HDR and better colors and contrast.
a hardware defect won't use up one of your AppleCare accidental damage thingsMy phone has a minor hardware issue where it seems like a (very tiny) portion of the screen lost its coating or something. So there's this one tiny area that looks like a smudge or something but cannot be wiped off :( Luckily I only notice it when the screen is completely off or at certain angles.
I'm considering taking it to Apple but I don't want such a minor thing to use up one of my Applecare incidents.
Question concerning wireless charging- I left my X on this Samsung wireless charger overnight; however, when I woke up the X was sitting a stable 75%. Had it on the charger today while I was playing Siege, and the light on the pad turned off and my phone was at... 75%. Is that supposed to happen?
What does that mean? That SIM-free phones will start to show up in local Apple Store's? Or maybe even that you'll be able to order them online?got a note today that iPhone X will be available for Apple Employee discount on December 5th, I'm guessing SIM-free models will be available then too
yeah them being available for employee discount usually correlates to the SIM-free models being available for purchaseWhat does that mean? That SIM-free phones will start to show up in local Apple Store's? Or maybe even that you'll be able to order them online?

Didn't really feel it to the touch, but I didn't notice it for a cool minute. I took it off and placed it on again and the charge continued past- but I mean, if it sat on the pad overnight that shouldn't exactly be a problem, right? Hmm.
I miss the screen real estate of the 7 Plus. I like watching videos/playing games while laying in bed, but everything is too small on the X's screen, so I ended up buying an iPad Pro for my media and games.Apologies if this has been discussed multiple times already but I currently have an iPhone 7 Plus. Hm- I just pre-ordered the Belkin wireless charger. Unfortunately its white and contrasts the rest of my desk, but I guess we'll see.I've had multiple times where I woke up and my phone didn't charge wirelessly. I had a cheaper wireless charger. Recently replaced it and haven't had the issue again. Maybe try another one if you can?
How long until my phone starts recognising me with sunglasses on? It's getting pretty annoying.
Taking a chance and going into the apple store in Sydney CBD tomorrow to see if i can pickup a 64gb iPhone X. Screw it, the thing is beautiful....chances of them having one in stock to buy outright?
It always recognizes me with sunglasses onHow long until my phone starts recognising me with sunglasses on? It's getting pretty annoying.

Do you have auto-brightness on?Does anyone have issues with brightness changing whenever you reset the phone or turn it back on? My 7+ never did this, but I have to manually set my X to full brightness whenever I do the above.
I had assumed that you could already buy them in Apple stores, provided you found a store that had stock, that is.yeah them being available for employee discount usually correlates to the SIM-free models being available for purchase
I'm an actual idiot.
That's a UI issue, though, not necessarily a screen size issue.Funny, I miss the 7's size. The X is just too tall for one-handed use.
It may never, if the lenses are blocking too much of the IR. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have two pairs of Ray-Bans with G15 colored lenses and with the Attention features on it cannot see that I am looking at the phone when I am wearing them. It only does this with these two pairs of sunglasses and no matter how many times I enter the code it doesn't matter, because the phone thinks I'm not looking at it.How long until my phone starts recognising me with sunglasses on? SIM free models are usually available a month or 2 after launch usually when stock calms down. Yes you can buy them onlineI had assumed that you could already buy them in Apple stores, provided you found a store that had stock, that is.
What about ordering a SIM-free (no carrier contract) phone online? Would that also be possible starting on December 5th?
Have relatives in the US and would use it here in Germany.
