Anybody share some streams links? I'm hesitant to browse twitch and get a bait and switch of the online mode when it's actually story mode because I'm nearing the end but won't be able to finish until this weekend likely

Sounds very sparse, as beta would imply. The emphasis on horse races sounds really stupid to me. I can't think of anything worse than tapping A for horse races against real people.

- Battle ROyale mode that places you around different areas of the map and focuses on using bows & throwing knives, supports 32 players, no other weapons in this mode yet
- NPC given missions to steal horses, avenge people's deaths, do tasks for local law enforcement taking down gang leades
- Gang hideouts
- Lots and Lots of Races.... with.. horses..
- Staged modes like territory battles and death match

So far it seems that it has more customization options than the single player mode.
Lasso , or shoot them off their horses ?, but granted tapping A is going to be misery

As someone who is still barely into Chapter 3, does anyone know exactly when Red Dead Online takes place in relation to the single player story? Worried about spoiling myself when I get started
At the very least, it's before some of the more final events of the game. It could even take place well before the SP campaign in general. There's nothing referencing any major SP story beats in my couple hours of playing so far.
He won't be streaming it, he never got ultimate edition for launch day.
That's what I want to know.. held off playing due to disappearing camp characters.

We haven't gotten anything official yet besides the Newswire update yesterday. And yeah R* said that they were going to release more info today. This whole release has been weird.

Is random deathmatching in freeroam discouraged? I hated that in GTAO and they made comments about about trying to make a world where you would work together in RDO.

Yea it has lol. But maybe it's for the best considering how badly GTA Online's launch was.
From watching streams I havent seen any penalty from killing other players. Saw no police or bounty system yet.
I'm sure it will.
This "Beta" Rockstar is doing is just a way to cover their asses in case the servers keep going down
Unless, someone figures out a game breaking economy glitch. Then they can claim it's a Beta and reset progress.
We'll see.
Horse races were aces in RDR, especially with weapons unlocked.

I think this is the best approach, even though it's frustrating. GTA Online scaled very, very poorly. The economy was utterly broken in months and only got worse and worse. But, that was also a flaw of the initial design which was terrible and didn't plan long term at all.
I think you just select what you want for hair and facial hair. For body, you choose a body type and then you can gain and lose weight.

Still can't get in. Bizarrely, this has lead to me playing Saints Row 2 for the first time in 10 years, which is nice.
Then I can't play the online mode which wilp be 90% of the game in the long run if GTA is anything to go by.
I'm on Xbox, going to look into this trick for GTA. Me and some friends just enjoy running our businnesses and stuff without some kid blowing us up with attack choppers and jets.
