Ah, thank you for the team info. With that DF video you posted, JC4 is looking pretty rad. Hopeful that Avalanche NY learned a lot from developing JC3 and will truly deliver come December 4th.

Wow, did not know JC3 was initially pitched as a Free-To-Play title. Wonder if JC3's repetitive gameplay and lackluster content, as well as your point about un-optimized performance, stem from that radical development pivot. Thanks for the good point.
Yep, the first leaked images we got for JC3 depicted it with f2p menus, with the ability to buy supplies and vehicles with "gems".

As for the executive meddling, Jim Sterling covers it as part of this video.

Sounds promising. I was on an i5 3570k @ 4.3GHz when JC3 launched and wasn't able to hold 60fps at all times. Game was very playable, but I was a bit disappointed.

jc3_i53570k8kd01.png

Now an i5 at 3.7GHz (?) seems to be enough to hold 60fps (the GTX 1060 is causing the drops below 60 fps according to Rich). That's a huge improvement.

So it is more optimised than the previous one which was a nightmare especially on consoles. I hope this one is more optimised on consoles and that it supports newer consoles very well too.

Anybody know any sales figures or % sales by platform for Just Cause 3? I'd be interested to see which platform sold most copies to see what they should be primarily developing for.

This video got me interested in this game for the first time. That twister looks awesome, good to see they are expanding on the weather tech from Mad Max. There needs to be more games where weather actually plays a big part in the gameplay.

wow, so I decided to rewatch this, and apparently JC3 was going to be PC only, which sure as shit would explain the console performance.

hopefully the performance is good on console this time. The performance was so bad on console JC3 that it affected the basic act of controlling the game. Played JC2 for a couple of dozen hours, I couldnt get through 1 hour of JC3 without promptly deleting it from my console.

I'm not a BR person but shit, that really does sound awesome.

The Multiplayer mod for JC2 and JC3 was something I never played but I always heard praise for, a Just Cause game designed with BR in mind would be something incredible.

Though it'll have to be a next gen project IMO, no way the current gen consoles will be able to keep up with something like that without sacrificing a lot of components.

Wasn't sure if/when I was going to get this game, but I think I'll go for it at release so that I can take flex my 9900K/2080Ti build.

Dark1x Did the developers tell you about NVIDIA DLSS support at this event? Because I can't find any other info on that.

I'm curious to see this DLSS x2 (native resolution mode) with supposed comparable image quality to that of a 64x supersampled image, but I haven't heard or seen anything about it since it was announced. Hope it's available here.

Pretty good results for the i5 4590 + GTX 1060. Should run well enough on my i7 6700k (4.6GHz) + GTX 1070.

I enjoyed JC3 a lot, even if performance wasn't perfect, so this should be a blast to play with improved performance.

Even if DLSS is coming, I'm not holding my breath for it being in there on day one or even 2018 tbh.
Hitman 2 and Darksiders 3 were also supposed to support DLSS and it's not there. I mean: It could, I just don't think it is likely.

I'm still waiting for the FF15 DLSS patch btw. There is a benchmark branch that has DLSS support, but there are no news about DLSS coming to the main game anytime soon. Strange situation.

All of the delays on RTX tech is really annoying. Hopefully this time next year the cards live up to their prices.

Hoping for 1080p60fps max settings with some TAA for my 6600/1070. Seems plausible by the video.

im wondering why JC3 was not optimized for multiple cores when they knew what the consoles required in the first place.

Because it's not like you just pick door A for well threaded or door B for poorly threaded. Building games to take full advantage of high thread counts is not easy and if you're building on top of pre-existing engine technology, then that means major rewrites at minimum, possibly gutting and rethinking some parts entirely.

Early in the development of JC3 it was not necessarily clear that they couldn't get the game into an acceptable shape for launch. The game wasn't unplayable in the end despite major problems - but delaying the game for 6 more months to iron out all the kinks and get much closer to target was a decision that was up to the publisher.

Any chance I can run this on 4K with a gtx1080 and r5 2600 ? Maybe if I lower some settings ?

I'm still on a GTX 970 with an i7-4790k. I'm hoping I can squeeze in 60 fps at some resolution, though I'm not banking on it.

At 60fps? I wouldn't bet on it. A 1080Ti runs the game at ~45fps on highest settings at 2160p (in the video). 30fps could be doable though.

That'd great, right now I'm going through shadow of the tomb raider at 40 -45 fps and I don't mind that much not being at 60.
Thanks for your answer!

so the pub rushed the game out to launch....sounds makes sense

Wasn't interested but that video nearly sold me. It's on my radar now for sure. The destruction looks good. Waiting for the impressions once the game is out.
