They're sitting on a gold mine, Trebeck.

I'd watch the hell out of a dressed down princess ensemble. It was the best part of the film.

I think there is a disney rule for that and they are only allowed to appear together in this movie. They are not even allowed to look at eachother on merchandise so I dont think that will happen.

...They have merch of the princesses together already

That is not what my post is about. They are not allowed to look at eachother on merchandise

Edit: Like Disney has official princess rules too and in their old guidebooks things like "Princess are not allowed to notice/look at eachother" was one too. I will look for some sources, but I think it was just last week that I read that and that Wreck it Ralph 2 was the first thing to break these rules because the princess here are just digital.

Those t-shirts were the best thing in that movie (and I loved it!) If I had daughters/nieces I'd be buying "Nap Queen" and "#Shiny" tees so fast.

Tiana wearing a "NOLA" shirt was quite on point too...
New Orleanians tend to have an unhealthy love for our city ...

I'd absolutely watch a Disney princesses movie if it was as fun as the scenes from Wreck It Ralph 2...

Nope.

There *was* a rule but this movie specifically threw all that out the window. This plus Sofia the First, My Enchanted Journey, My Fairytale Adventure, Disney Infinity, and Kingdom Hearts show that they are becoming far more lax about the Princess rules.

I honestly thought this was already an actual movie.
Didn't realize this was from Ralph Breaks the Internet.

There still is the rule, but as you said they get more lax which doesn't mean that people should take scenes like in this movie for granted.

1. I already knew about that and none of that says that the no princess interaction rule is still in place.
2. Princess Academy was planned years ago so they clearly don't have that much of a problem with it.
3. The Disney Princess franchise has gone very dormant outside of merchandise. Elsa, Anna, and Moana were never officially inducted into the lineup; the last coronation was Merida.

Even if the rule was still in place, it's not relevant anymore.

You would hope so - either way it's inspired and I imagine will properly Ralph Breaks the Internet to a box office much higher than it would have had without.

There's been a real buzz around it, the movie isn't out here till Friday and I've already dropped £80 on the princess doll set for my daughter for Christmas and Disney along with other retailers here (Asda who are part of Walmart now) have clothes and Pajamas for sale already. Disney being Disney know what they are doing and didn't put Anna and Elsa in the set of dolls though - no doubt for a special release later.

The demand for it would be crazy and really they'd be silly not to capitalise on it, my guess is we get a 5 minute short before Frozen 2 next year before a full series or movie.

Really seems like a move that could be absolutely huge for Disney and the next stage for them in terms of merchandise and general appeal.

Edit - off topic but when looking at those Pajamas I came across this costume, it's mildly terrifying

This is not a spoiler, as it was literelly in every marketing spot for the movie.

I already see merchandise from it.

Now, I am not sure how many feel about this scene, but this was the moment that stole the movie for my daughters. They simply couldn't stop laughing.

Now, this was a special scene on its own... then

The princesses come back and get involved in the action in the climax

As I mentioned, my kids loved it so much, I saw money on the table. Is Disney thinking the same?

Make a movie with all the Princesses with them literelly just hanging out.

Thoughts?

GIVE IT TO ME.

GIVE ME DISNEY PRINCESS BREAKFAST CLUB

I am all for this idea.

In fact, make it a high production show on your new streaming channel. That's year one.

Then make a movie. Then for season 2 of your show have them traverse their entire universe encountering heroes like Rey, Shuri, Leia and Ms. Marvel.

Make toys.
This sounds so dope

It wasn't originally intended to set anything else up, just an idea from the writer that if Vanelope is out in the "internet" what would happen if she met another Disney princess.

"In an early version [of the movie] we thought Vanellope was going to go viral and I thought, 'Yeah, if she met all the princesses that might break the internet,'" Ribon said. She then remembered a conversation she had with her Disney Animation colleague, Elise Aliberti, about Disney princess stereotypes, so she texted her for some advice. The two discussed points like princesses having daddy issues, needing a man to save them, making horrific sacrifices, etc. Once Ribon had those inspirations, she started writing, diving hard into all of those stereotypes—making fun of them, but also trying to respectful. "I wrote the scene. I read it. Then I had a panic attack and I laid down on the floor," Ribon said. "I was like 'I'm either going to be fired or this might be a big deal.'"

The article has more detail, but Disney brass loved it, so who knows where it goes from here.

Disney has been fully aware for a long time that a princess crossover would make a shit-ton of money; the reason they never made one is because they felt it would cause long-term damage to the unique individual brands of each princess (which is why they have weird marketing rules, like not allowing princesses to make eye contact on shared promotional materials or toys). Obviously, Ralph breaks these rules which suggests Disney is at least putting out feelers for how something like this would be received. I'm not sure how a full-fledged Disney princess crossover movie would work (there's too many characters and many of the early ones aren't particularly unique or have any special skills) but I would certainly be interested in seeing it.

Can we get a series with Kida as the villain plotting revenge for her franchise being completely abandoned by Disney? Disney been pretty good at poking fun of itself lately but I want them to acknowledge there box office bombs! (Also I just want to see Kida againT_T)

Anastasia, which is a Fox movie that came out in 1997. And my girlfriend at the time made me go see that instead of Mortal Kombat Annihilation which came out the same day. You can imagine how that relationship worked out, though, when I finally saw MK:A ... I secretly knew she was right.

nice story lol

I never cared about Disney Princess, but for some reason, I loved how in Princess Sophia they sorta had a shared universe, so I want to see more of this
