It really puts things into perspective that people are willing to travel a thousand plus miles through tear gas to claim asylum. Even if they believe they have a 1% chance of being accepted, it's still worth it.

There is a section of America that doesn't view those darker than them as human. They gain actual delight from the suffering of these people. They cannot be reasoned with. Bargained with. Educated. You cannot "reach across the aisle" with them. Their goal is the extermination of anyone that isn't white.
