lmao this thing is turning out to be a worse purchase decision by the day
Unless you are like me who really wants Ridge racer type 4 and metal gear solid and doesn't want to pay over $300 for them.

Who's running the show for this thing? It would have been a monster hit. What a fucking joke.
Also a good one, from the playstation website:
Neither Kazuya nor Jun are in Tekken 3 lmao
Ok that is fucking amazing lmao! Also a good one, from the playstation website:

I'd pull back a bit if you think this thing isn't selling tons.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and sying that it's likely not going to sell as many as people think it will. Word of mouth is important for those consoles and it's not having a good one so far. It's launching next week and it doesn't look like it will.
what source code? these are basic ISOs being run in an emulator. the ISOs for NTSC versions of the games are all available.
i don't know, you tell me
I need to know expectations from the people thinking it will fail otherwise this is just going to be a moving goalpost situation. Will totally eat crow if it craters though.
Welp. It's worse this time because the system will be outputting 60hz over HDMI. Which means it'll run slow and exhibit lots of judder.
fuck this product
i doubt sony will ever officially give numbers for the system, if that's a measure of success. people will have to figure out how much it sold by doing detective work.I need to know expectations from the people thinking it will fail otherwise this is just going to be a moving goalpost situation. This thing is doa.
If you're interested in PS1 games and aren't owning PSTV yet, you better act fast and buy it now. The price is rising day by day.
no way. the system is already running half the games at 60hz, there's nothing special about tekken 3.Could the reason be that the HW simply isn't up to the level required for 60hz Tekken 3?
you can run ps1 games on SNES classic?!!!On SNES Retroarch you need to fiddle with worsening the graphics in order to get 60hz Tekken 3.
That's because objectively pepsiman is better than a fourth of these games ;)The replies anytime Sony mentions this on Twitter are pretty amusing. So many Pepsiman fans out there.
I'd pull back a bit if you think this thing isn't selling tons.
Unless this is sarcasm in which case:
Can anyone explain to me why this is a problem? Do people really care about the difference between 50 fps and 60? or is it something else?

Just a small qualifier here - that's only for games with fixed time-step. While it was a lot less common then - a share of software did still run at variable time-step, so 50hz would simply operate at the right internal tick - no slow-down or skipping involved.when games came out months later in the EU, they were "adapted" to 50Hz, either by slowing the game down (many games had logic tied to framerate) or skipping frames (to match the pace of 60Hz but only outputting 50Hz). Now, frame skipping was the preferable option but it was still a gamble on what method the game would be using.
It's not just a difference in framerate. It is a difference in speed. I strongly suggest watching the video posted by Lord Kano as a quick starter to understanding the problems with using PAL versions of these games. Can anyone explain to me why this is a problem? it's not the same as your average pc game running at 50 or 60 fps. in that case the game is running at the same speed but just fewer frames of the action are being shown in a second. for pal games, being 50 fps means the game is showing the same frames, just at a slower pace, so the game runs and feels slower. Can anyone explain to me why this is a problem? I bet it has a great launch month before everyone forgets it ever existed.
