According to retailers talking to Gamesindustry.biz, more than 300,000 consoles were sold over Black Friday. It was pretty close between all three formats, but we understand that PS4 was the best-selling machine, narrowly ahead of Xbox One, which was narrowly ahead of Nintendo Switch.

As a result, Xbox One exclusives such as Forza Horizon 4 (No.5), Minecraft Master Edition (No.33) and Forza Motorsport 7 (No.34) all shot up the charts, with sales rising 535 per cent, 1768 per cent and 573 per cent respectively.

PS4 exclusives Spider-Man (No.6), God of War (No.21) and Detroit: Become Human (No.35), saw sales rise 634 per cent, 1283 per cent and 826 per cent respectively.

And finally, Nintendo Switch regulars Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (No.10), Super Mario Party (No.24), Super Mario Odyssey (No.25) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (No.38) rose 98 per cent, 110 per cent, 110 per cent and 111 per cent.

This is inline with numbers from last year where 300,000+ consoles were also sold during BF 2017. PS4 was also top then too.

Sounds like all three consoles ended up doing great, given the closeness of all of them on the charts.
Good stuff all around.

Good to see healthy sales for all three platforms.
Minecraft continuing to appear in the sales charts after all these years is nothing short of impressive.

If what I read is correct, it's pretty amazing that in a super price sensitive UK, during a super price sensitive period, the PS4 still outsold its direct rival when (apparently) it was about £50 more expensive for the lower priced versions.

I am surprised PS4 is #1 despite the offer was much worse than last year (only 1 game and £20 more expensive)
I post the deals again for comparison.

2017
Xbox One S + Rocket league: £169 (-£70)
Xbox One X: £429 (-£20)
Switch: £279
PS4 slim + Fifa 18 + GT Sport: £199 (-£50)
PS4 pro + Fifa 18 + COD WWII: £299 (-£50)

2018
Xbox One S + Forza Horizon 4: £169 (-£70)
Xbox One X + Fallout 76: £379 (-£70)
Switch: £249 (-£30)
PS4 slim + Fifa 19 or Red dead 2: £219 (-£30)
PS4 pro + Fifa 19 or red dead 2: £329 (-£20)

Great week for all three consoles. I guess this means each is around 100k, which is way down YOY for PS4 (was >143k last year) but probably up for the other two, which was exactly what I expected after seeing the deals on offer. I expected PS4 to be narrowly behind though, so it being #1 is pretty crazy.

Sony must be pretty chuffed, they probably made much more profit than BF week last year. MS and Nintendo will be happy too. Good week!

Both XB1 and PS4 over the Switch? Well, I guess it's hard to pass on the much cheaper options.

Give the implication that each system sold amounts that are very near to each other, it would be kinda dope if all 3 of them were above the 100k mark.

How many millions of consoles does nintendo have to sell to hit their 20 million mark?

Considering the state of the country right now with brexit and retail struggling as an industry, it's been a relatively healthy week.

Everybody win cause they are all happy: Sony because of increased profits, Microsoft because of increased revenue and Nintendo because of increased number of hardware sold ! It's the generation of happiness.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the sales numbers for the PS4 worldwide when the dust settles in a few months. Between the Spidy bundle and the crazy Walmart bundle last night that dropped, I have to imagine that number has gotten a nice little bump. Nintendo and Microsoft did really well from the looks of it too, overseas.

Crazy. The PS4 keeps beasting, even tho the deals last week were horrible. You could buy an XBO for ~169€. While the PS4 was way above 200€.

Damn had no idea Sony went into BF in the UK with such weak deals. The fact that they still outsold the other platforms shows how successful the PS4 is. I see it sticking around for a long time

Last year the PS4 had its second biggest week during Black Friday week 2017. Looks like the lackluster deals this year brought it closer to Xbox.
