Putting aside all the problems BFV has had, launching it into retail on top of Black Friday hasn't helped, even here in the UK. People will be chasing sale prices on earlier releases. Marketing generally seems to be low key compared to BF1. It was everywhere two years ago.

I mean if we are using the hints in this thread I think even with a strong digital share its below both BF3 and BF4 as well no? Not sure as I dont get UK numbers

It's probably the weakest opening for a numbered Battlefield game in a long time but someone else better at crunching UK numbers can figure that out

From BrunoMB at old place:

[Week 43, 2011] BATTLEFIELD 3 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 404,000 / NEW
[Week 44, 2013] BATTLEFIELD 4 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 125,000 / NEW
[Week 12, 2015] BATTLEFIELD HARDLINE (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 115,000 / NEW
[Week 47, 2015] STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 335,000 / NEW
[Week 42, 2016] BATTLEFIELD 1 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) < 277,000 / NEW

Oh, right I forgot Switch exists. Anyway, how is Hitman 2 doing? Still absymal?

Also is Horizon 4 LTD > Horizon 3 LTD yet?

Hitman 2 still hasn't sold 20k physical copies.

Horizon 4 won't ever reach Horizon 3 LTD on the physical charts and that's purely because of the continued shift to digital and lack of digital data from GfK.

Note that BF4 was impacted by being released prior to the launch of PS4/X1.

When EA speaks, people listen. When EA tells you not to buy their game, people don't buy their game.

I hope "but muh historical accuracy in game, no women existed in World War 2" wasn't the reason why Battlefield 5 has done so poorly.

I think the better explanation and the more optimistic one was that Battlefield 5 is nowhere close to finished and the game was launched just to get out for the holidays.

I like that "untold battles of WW2" idea in BFV, but I think sales would probably have been better if they had a good reveal trailer (COD WWII reveal trailer was perfection) and if the game launched with iconic battles (Wake Island, Stalingrad, Berlin, Normandy, the Bulge, Kursk, Okinawa, El Alamein, Iwo Jima, Dunkirk...) with the Frosbite engine.
Then untold battles of WW2 in Tides of War.

It's a shame because BFV is the best BF since BF3.

So considering ps4 was above xbox and xbox just above Switch we could assume something like
ps4 110,000
xbox 100,000
NSW 90,000
Or they could all be closer than that.
People were wondering why Sony deals weren't that great. This is why Sony don't need to be so competitive. They still win without bargain bin prices. Xbox was flying out at Tesco at ~£150 but it wasn't enough to beat £200+ PS4s.

FIFA 19, BO4 and RDR2 were the best selling titles this week.
Exclusives like Forza, Spiderman and Pokemon did well.
Fallout 76 continues to struggle and Battlefield V had a worse opening than Spyro (Physically at least).
Speaking of Spyro, do we have the total worldwide sales numbers for that, or is it too early? I know it's 108,000 units in the UK and I think it's 22,00 units in Spain (I think?).

The launch trailer should have been the reveal trailer.

I guessing they mean bundle or psychical sales here? Not quite sure either way it seems PS4 owners where not super interested.
One interesting stat about Battlefield V is that the game sold best (in a box) on Xbox One. Microsoft's console accounted for 50 per cent of the game's sale

Yikes, bummer for Hitman. Horizon 4 was more wishfull thinking than an actual likely thing ;) Also how do you know Crash passed 1 milion including digital if the UK charts don't include digital? Or is that just Activision PR? Must be over 7-8 million worldwide by now.

Anyway thanks for replying Daniel.

BF4 first week was only 125k ?

We have UK digital numbers from a GSD report last year. So I'm just using those as a baseline. Basically Crash's physical sales are at the point where adding 2017's digital sales takes you over 1m.

So what has happened to BFV? WW2 seemed to be a big factor for CoD success last year

Hitman 2 still hasn't sold 20k physical copies.

Good god!

Looks like Switch Fortnite did shockingly respectable. Like I would've expeted a massive chasm in the UK for that game in the format charts

Crash numbers are great and Spyro outdoing a BF launch (granted, this says much more about BFV but still).

What a time.

ZhugeEX With your expectations, how has Diablo 3 Switch been performing? About in line? Also I assume there weren't many legs for Octopath or Xenoblade

Just two years ago it felt like Battlefield was within striking distance of surpassing COD. It had everything going for it, and everything going against COD.

Times have changed.

Yikes at this post.

I highly doubt Sony or MS care about "winning", as long as they are selling lots of consoles.

Oh and Crash Bandicoot is now over 1m in the UK (Incl. digital).

Holy shit, that's incredible.

Wonder how the US compares.

Hi ZhugeEX, Nintendo on last quarter IR spoke about 3 millions sellers by third parties.

Sales of other popular titles that were released during previous fiscal years and titles released by other software publishers continued to grow, bringing the total number of million-seller titles during this period to 9, including the titles of other software publishers.

And many of us thought about octopath, minecraft for sure and we spoke about Crash Bandicoot that have a small chance.

As you have informations about UK and US market, do you think that crash bandiboot can be millionseller WW on switch ?
