FIFA 19, BO4 and RDR2 were the best selling titles this week.
Exclusives like Forza, Spiderman and Pokemon did well.
Fallout 76 continues to struggle and Battlefield V had a worse opening than Spyro (Physically at least).

Just for clarification you're talking about week 47 yes?

First two lines are as expected, but Jesus Christ that is a horrible launch for BFV, I was thinking we'd see a much better week than that considering there were lots of XB1 BFV bundles.

Basically the games that had the best deals (minus Fallout 76 for obvious reasons, seen it for under £20 btw and close to the price of Fallout 4 lol) are going to be at the top of the charts.

Pikachu continues to outsell Eevee almost 2 to 1.

Fun Fact: Just Dance 2019 sold more on Wii than on PS4 or XB1.

Battlefield 1 did 277k (source: the old place) so BFV did ~90k... Big drop.

I feel bad for DICE but will pickup the game once they add BR.

I ask myself, why release the game without the biggest driver of sales and not delay the game until battle royal is ready and see more sales for full price.

Physical release weaker than Spyro just tells enough. It is some kind of fascinating how EA shot themselves in foot two years in a row with different reasons.

Few third party publishers can afford to push back their second biggest IP. They need that revenue to avoid a beating in Wall Street. They probably looked at SWBF sales and figured BFV will have better legs.

Was expecting BF5 to do worse honestly (though I thought BF1 did way more than 277K). Still a awful drop.
I'll probably get it when the BR mode drops, the early access shit really turned me of touching it Day 12

BFV's situation is really sad, the game is solid and even better than the last game, just goes to show how much bad decisions and marketing can screw up your game.

BFV was -10% with EA Access or by buying from BF1 menu though. I don't think we can analyze BFV sales without digital sales.

But it's certain that the disastrous reveal trailer made damages.

BFV sales are so low that even factoring in a very aggressive digital share (50%) it still is a huge drop for the franchise. No way around it

They need to get back to Battlefield. I'm talking about Battlefield that required some skill and knowledge of your weapon and load out. BF1 dropped the skill gap for fun. It became a point and shoot fest with 4 weapons. I returned it and didn't even bother with this one. The day they stop chasing COD and get back to BF I'll jump in. Until then...

Also, I don't think the marketing in the UK had the type of "reach" a premier title like BF should have had.

Thats expected yeah. It was never gonna do the numbers like BF1 did. Wich were pretty crazy.
Not with the problems BFV had before launch.

Uhh BFV is alot different then BF1. I found BF1 to "casual" also. BFV is a return to form to the more "hardcore" side of Battlefield. No more weird supression or visual recoil, atrrition makes it more tactical and rewards squad play.

I wonder if Battlefield 5 doing so bad will reduce the amount of staggered launches in the future or if people will shrug off Battlefield 5's bad performance as the game launching half finished and with massive features missing.

I mean if we are using the hints in this thread I think even with a strong digital share its below both BF3 and BF4 as well no? Not sure as I dont get UK numbers

It's probably the weakest opening for a numbered Battlefield game in a long time but someone else better at crunching UK numbers can figure that out
