I have an interview in Seattle on the 7th. Flying in from toronto. I'll have most of the 7th and the afternoon/evening on the 6th to explore a bit. Any places worth while? I don't have too much time so I figured I'd just walk around downtown and maybe take a boat ride - I'd like to get a nice view of the skyline.

Take a Water Taxi over to Alki. Might as well eat at Marination Makai while you're over there!

What things do you like to do? Food? Beer? Shopping?

Hike, but I suppose it's the wrong time of year for that lol, and the mountains are a bit far away. So mainly just explore the city - I'll check out the Pike Street area as recommended above , maybe eat at a restaurant or two (or three... Lol). And if I have time I'll take a water taxi out.

Along the Pike-Pine corridor I'd recommend Quinn's, Stateside, Sitka and Spruce, Stumbling Monk, Mamnoon, Trove, Pine Box and Taylor Shellfish. But definitely take the water taxi to Alki and eat at Marination Makai.

Pagliacci inbound. It's not the best and it's too expensive but it's consistent as hell and has the best website. Anyone have any better ideas for pizza delivery in Wallingford /udistrict /Fremont?

I like Pagliacci, but when I lived on Latona I used to go to Pudge Bros. on 45th a bunch. Been a few years though.

Pudge is closest to us but they are inconsistent. There's also a domino's that I will order from in ten years when I forget how wretched it is again.

It's a bit far north but my typical place is Good Guys. The pizza is pretty good and $12 for a large 3 topping is hard to resist. Don't mind that it is a tiny hole in the wall between a stripper joint and a hair salon.

Anybody interested in Stumbling Monk this Saturday? Let's settle on something and see what happens. I'll bring nachos.

It must be good because I've seen drunk people happily give themselves 3rd degree sauce burns while drunk in line at HM releases.

Frelard (Ballard) Pizza Company. They'll deliver via Amazon.

The only problem with them is their pizza is too good, and ruins all other pizza. The Carbonara*... egg, pancetta, garlic... easily the best pizza I ever had, at least until I had them throw some Mama Lil's peppers on there too and then it was even better. They got a Big Moses pizza on the menu too. It's their pizza of the day, and you are kinda supposed to order it blind ("Have some faith, it'll be good" the menu says. Yes you can ask what's on it before ordering, and they'll tell you, but that's cheating). I order that pretty often too, because I love not making a decision. One time it was like "ehh, pretty good" and the rest it was great.

*I have had trouble getting them to deliver the Carbonara, due to the egg, but I live close enough to walk over and pick it up and it's worth it even in shitty rain and what not

As a former illini and chicsgoann; I urge you all to try window city pies to understand what good pizza means. And what it can be.
