Oozaru should have some influence as it's part of their natural biology. Super Saiyan 4 just needs a better design and non magical clothing. Though it should have always been Super Saiyan 1-2 in terms of usage. They were good. 3 being unnatural and problematic was fine too.
I still find the whole God ki thing stupid. Only Goku and Vegeta will be relevant now.

Oozaru gets retconned with the Broly film, but I still prefer God Ki regardless, even though the implementation has been horrid.

SSJ4 is kinda stupid with magic pants/gloves and no nipples but whenever I see the two side-by-side SSJBlue just looks really lame. Too much of a palette swap. They look good in the Whis outfits though, I just wish Vegeta and Goku kept wearing those outfits instead of reverting.

Make the fur brown instead red, dont give them magic clothes and dont make it look so overdesigned like this.
Keep it simple. I liked that they changed their eyes for it. They dont need to get giant hair.
Nah giant hair is a staple of the Saiyan Race at this point.

SSJ4 any day. Always liked the concept of it and hope it comes back someday, even if it's been outclassed by God ki.
I'm not a huge fan of SSB since I found it very overused in Super which quickly made it lose its appeal. I prefer SSG over any of them; it has the most godly look to it. I also like the added touch of Goku & Vegeta losing their muscle mass --- technically another god-like detail, given that Beerus and many of the other gods are shown to be quite lean.

Broly is using what is essentially the power of the giant monkey in base form, and more than keeps pace with at least SSG Vegeta and Goku, so there's that.

God forms are basically a decade plus of damage control and subversion, because Dragon Ball helped pioneer shitty convoluted designs
The "recolor" and "lazy" arguments are always interesting to me, Blue isn't supposed to be some big new original form, it's just regular Super Saiyan with God Ki mixed in, so it's supposed to look the same.
I can't imagine anything meant to follow SSJ4 not being a super gaudy, over-designed mess.
I think the extremely positive reception of UI, and especially UI Omen, says a lot for this approach too.
SSJ4 is more like a step back, Saiyans were moving away from the ape stuff because they didn't need it. Toriyama also doubled down on this in Super.
