Here's the stuff I thought most appropriate

https://store.steampowered.com/SteamAwardNominations/?u=76561197960410235&k=16561181347525229861

Valve as best dev simply because I couldn't nominate any developer I actually thought did a great job. So Valve gets dev of the year for terrible best dev award.
Best Environment I took as 'mood'. I almost put Moss there for actual environment, but I get better vibes off Two Point anyways.
Can't do best VR game as GOTY, so VRChat gets a nod.
I've never played VRChat with actual friends, so the old classic I love playing with my SO gets a nod.

Retried STRAFE out of curiosity and I'm still baffled how they managed to fuck everything about the gameplay up so bad. Second refund pending.

Just wanted to point out how legit cool it is that I can now legally access my three fav games of all time on Steam:

1. Chrono Trigger
2. Witcher 3
3. Killer 7

I still plan on grabbing Killer 7 soon during the sale, just wanna make sure I have enough cash to throw around for bills/groceries first. PC Gaming truly has come a long way in terms of ports, even since I started taking it seriously back in 2015.

Wait, Darksiders 3 is coming out tomorrow? For some reason, I thought it was still a week away. Guess I won't be doing a last minute pre-order then, I'm still only halfway through my replay of the second one. I think I'll take my time with D2, clear all the achievements and maybe wait until the winter sale to get D3. Hitman 2's price dropped pretty quickly and I don't expect D3 to perform much better, so I imagine it'll be a bit cheaper by then.

xPaw, can you guys please add a "long history" page for subs? Changenumber 5438295 is a prime example of how large-scale changes by Valve can have an adverse impact on the usability of the site. The short sub history on the front page only goes back a couple of days and I can't go back further than one or two days on the main sub history page because 5438295 eventually crashes all browsers I've tried due to how many packages it affected.

Edit: Alternatively, maybe impose some sort of cutoff so that the page doesn't list thousands and thousands of subs when Valve makes such sweeping adjustments. A "View all" link to the changenumber page after x amount of subs, for example.

Edit edit: I can sometimes get to where I want to be with Firefox, but the tab crashes when I try to search the page for "removed store name". Bleh.

Very early in The Missing the game completely glitched out, except being a swery game I don't know if it was a glitch or intentional.

It appears so. You can buy maps in game that show you where collectables are you missed, the only bad achievements are the level up 20 weapons which i had to spend like an hour straight grinding this afternoon.

Some games have "nope" cheevos, like Pillars of Eternity:

Complete the White March and Pillars of Eternity, defeat all dragons, all bounties, and both archmages on Expert, Trial of Iron, and Path of the Damned modes without taking any companions after Cilant Lîs.

Trial of Iron is the "die once, save gets deleted" mode. This isn't a short game, either.

Here's a guy doing it in 10 hours:

Sunset Overdrive is already at 50K+ copies sold. Not bad. I think that they covered porting costs.

Hey Steam, give me a way to quickly organize my own personal library by genre tags so I can quickly find something I want to play

Love, me.

Not having a single cent to spare right now is so damn frustrating. At CDkeys the BLACKFRIDAY code stacks with the current discounts bringing TEW2 to 13.85 euro and Vanquish/Bayonetta to 4.75 euro, just to mention a few. Fuck my life.

CDKeys or Voidu? Or are you Instant gaming?

Voidu, yeah, sorry.

Man, I figured I'd be almost done with Tales of Berseria at this point but looks like I still have a good chunk left. Even with cheat engine to double run speed (thank god for that) the game is taking me longer than I expected.
Seriously though, turbo modes and the like for jrpgs are goddamn life savers.

There are too many PC Games stores! There is too much choice, they are there just to make good deals that are hard to resist and make us spend our hard earned money XD

Pfft. If you really cared about competition you'd shop at the good guy shops that resist the evil Valve monopoly, like Origin, the Windows Store and the Bethesda launcher.

hmph think ill risk not pre-ordering Darksiders 3 from cdkeys (risk in the sense that prices go up there when the games are out) because it smells like a mega bomba and I bet it will drop lower than the current pre-order price in no time.

that and its a mess on consoles so I'm weary how it performs on (my) PC.

RIP one down, one to go in Rhaknar's Holiday Expectations :(

Mutant Year Zero pls be gud

Darksiders PC port:

TECHNICAL ISSUES
During my time with Darksiders 3 on PC, I experienced a few crashes. Certain areas of the game — specifically while chasing after Lust — ran very poorly and caused some significant drops in frame rate. During the Lust boss fight, my game crashed two separate times. The first was in the middle of the boss fight, while the second was during a post-fight cutscene. This is a pretty big problem in Darksiders 3, since the game only saves progress when you reach Vulgrim, the shopkeeper. I had to redo the boss fight — which includes an unskippable walk-and-talk section — multiple times, praying that the game would hold out for just one moment longer. At a later point, my game errored out, but still let me run to a nearby Vulgrim, which gave me the chance to save my progress before it completely caved in. While the version of the game we played is likely not finalized, players should be prepared for some technical frustrations.

I'm thinking of upgrading my 770 to a cheapish 1070 (349 Euro).

Question: Will my i5-4670K bottleneck me hard?

PC Monitor is 1080p@120hz.

I might want to use my 4k TV for some games.

Bought and beat Unavowed yesterday. A pretty great Point&Click adventure.

What are the best games of 2018 I'm yet to test, if I'm not interested in Visual Novels or JRPG's, and have played these already:

Unavowed
Yakuza 0
Battleteach
Into the Breach
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Frozen Synapse 2.

Thonebreaker is one I'm looking at, and I know about Pathfinder and Pillars of Eternity 2. But other then those games?

If you aim for more than 60FPS, then yes, CPU will probably bottleneck you. But if you are fine with 60FPS, then it should be okay, I'm on i5-3570k with GTX1080ti and it's fine for 4K/60

Hitman 2. It is a master class in level design.

Possible to disable the friends list that keeps popping up when you Shift + Tab into the Steam overlay?

I don't care about online stuff much, but yeah, this one too, it's not a simple port. Maybe they took out online components because of Xbox Live integration and they didn't wanted to bother moving it on Steamworks?

MS developed an XBL <-> Steamworks network API last year. It's used in Rise of Nations (which got a UWP "port" for the purpose of beta testing the API) and Killer Instinct.

Mt. Whatever
Simple port with broken AA, no exclusive fullscreen, no DSR support and resolution that degrades if your OS DPI is more than 100%.

Another game that does this? Ugh.

As a 4K TV user, I kinda have to set my Windows to scale (150%) to see anything at a comfortable sitting distance. This and Killer7... Two games I really want to play but these issues are... Big oof.
