Eva they gave her a t-shirt and took a picture of her from the Metal Gear Pachinko game cause it would be too obvious if they did it to any of the official art for her lol

Judging by all 3 of these seeming to go after cleavage, it's weird that Carnage Form Tsubasa didn't get changed.

On the one hand, I'm fine with the bob window removal, it doesn't "bother" me that they changed it. The black tights make no sense, though. The skirt was already kind of short, so it would probably have looked a bit less hackjob to just make the skirt a little longer than giving her underoos. As it is they made it looks worse overall despite a decent change.

There's also both versions of
Nia
in that shot. I think it's apparent that the artist just included their favourite designs. Or maybe just the ones that are main cast. And since Poppibuster is like an extension of Poppi...
It's just the ones Saito designed, so not the Nomura/guest ones. I guess the different forms were because they're different designs.

...what?
is this a complaint about christian terminology that's esoteric in japan ("holy grail", "eden", "god of genesis") being changed to stuff that conveys exactly the same meaning by virtue of being less, uh... obviously on the nose ("aegis", "elysium", "architect")

No. This is about some of the other things related to the blades and some of the jokes / perverted stuff such as the dog barking gag in the American version. Stuff like the names are obviously fine lol. I think they did a good job overall even in trying to alter the jokes, but sometimes they weren't as good and sometimes they were just fine.

That's obviously not going to change on the games as the same didn't happen with the previous cases.

I wasn't worried it would change. I was just mostly stating that I'm fine with censorship if it makes sense in context of what it is. Smash is a E game and needs to do what it has to keep the rating so it's fine. In general however I like all my content uncensored or more correctly, presented in the way the developer imagined it to be. Same with movies. I do like what was done here though as Mythra still looks great.

I'm curious what they're targeting exactly with these changes seeing how Pyra, Shantae, and Tsubasa weren't changed at all.

I like the design a little bit more but still not into it.

Pretty disappointed that they went this route. I'd prefer characters to be represented as they were originally depicted as these are the stand ins for trophies.

Mythra straight up doesn't look like that. And it's not even that lewd of a design.

What a shame.

I like how they got rid of the boob window. But the leggings don't really match her. Showing leg is not a bad thing.

Think it looks better, but I'd rather drop the tights/garter and make the dress longer.

Censorship is stupid but this is whatever. I get why the boob window was changed for censorship reasons but why the tights? Are people offended by legs now

I'd generally like character designs to be plausibly functional in real life as something that could be worn. The in-game lore in XC2 does explain it but there's some dissonance when you're running around a snow level with Pyra/Mythra half-naked.

The tights in the Smash art are probably because that was easier than making the dress longer.

It's a subtle change but it looks more eye-catching because of it.

Other than that it was definitely changed to stay safe of its rating. I'm cool with it because it looks better than the original. But it sucks if your a fan of the character design and to see this changed.

Reminds me of those dumb changes they made to that fire emblem persona game on wii u.

The censored version is a huge improvement.

I want Rex + Mythra with this design for DLC.

I am curious if this would be how she looks if she got in as DLC, or if there'd take the time to go over some more other changes.

I imagine this was just done rather quickly and if they might change it in a different way when making a full model.

I will be honest with this one. The old design is bad, the new one is even worse. Covering her legs with stockings or pants is one thing, painting them black like they are blackhole that absorbs light is another. Her lower body has no texture, nothing, it's simply an unfinished job.

Yeah Im just wondering what everyone sees in this, this looks like shit. They both look bad, but someone just filled in the legs with the Photoshop Paint Bucket Tool and called a day, and people here are calling it an improvement.

People like whatever that is less revealing even if it's ugly it seems.

It should been redesigned, this just look like cheap work.

Looks worse. Not a fan of leggings/stockings. It also affects the color scheme Saito had going for Mythra when he designed her. Black shouldn't be a standout color on Mythra, Pyra, or Rex.

Eh, they spend a good amount on the fact that blades aren't affected by the physical world like that and the snow level isn't until Chapter 6. On top of that, Pyra and Mythra are fire/light elementals that emit constant heat and there's a whole cutscene at the start of the snow level with Nia cuddling up to Pyra for warmth.

It's more strange that Rex doesn't feel cold. He's wearing a wetsuit, but it doesn't cover his thighs, arms, or head. Maybe it's cuz of his link to Pyra.

Her top looks great, great integration into her core design.

While I think she could have been improved with a better bottom/longer skirt/tights, what this was isn't that great.

Comparing the two directly I do really prefer the Smash one. Would love to see them put a bit more effort into this change and implement it as an option in XC2 before my Torna playthrough

Would never happen

I mean, the design is fundamentally horrible regardless of how much skin she's showing, but I'd call it an improvement indeed.

I love Mythra's normal design, but honestly, this does look better.

EDIT: Me + above me = this is era.
