It really feels like they're fitting everything into this last season. A lot of characters are getting introduced and a lot of possible character arcs. I think it could either turn out disastrous or downright incredible.
Man, Gotham's Joker is real fucking FANTASTIC.
Can't wait to see how this ends. Best live action show based on a comic book, easily.

It's a hard question to answer for a lot of people.
There isn't another superhero show out there like it. It's nowhere near as grounded and serious as the Netflix Marvel shows but it's far darker than any of the CW shows.
It can be graphically violent with kids, grandmas, and happy couples getting killed like nothing. Cops are offed in pretty much every episode.
It's extremely cheesy and hammy at times too and the actors really lean into this to pull some scenes you couldn't possibly do in any other comic book show.
The visuals are fantastic. Seriously, the background artists combined with the costume and set design realize arguably the greatest version of Gotham City outside of the comics themselves. It's surpassed both Burton's, Batman Begins, and TAS in my opinion.
The music is good too. Because of the nature of the show not really falling into any particular time period, there are some incredibly interesting songs used in various sequences from both original and licensed material.
The characters arcs are insane. People remark on Agents of Shield on how crazy far the main cast has come but Gotham gives it a damn run for its money. Because it's an origin story in a sense, you literally see how the show builds characters up into their true comic book counterparts. Gotham's Penguin is arguably the best realized version of his character ever and the show makes it damn engaging to follow him.
People were put off by its first season but the show has gone through so many changes it's hardly recognizable.
It's the noir aspects of Burton Batman mixed with the realism and brutality of the Nolan Batmans, all with plots and motivations from the 1960s Batman TV show. It's campy and insane all at the same time. There's nothing quite like it.

I get why people are hyped, but it is not looking good. Glad they are tossing everything they can in the final season, but having baby batman who is not batman and not trained or have any skills kicking ass and taking names is not something I find enjoyable.

It's all great no trash. One of the best "superhero" shows on TV.
I watched the first half of season one when it aired. I guess I am going to have to marathon this when the series is finished.
Season one wasn't really good early on because it really didn't understand what it wanted to be, once they figured out they could do and be whatever it wanted it quickly became one of my favorite things on tv.
