Someone must not actually follow my feed then, because I was worried I was overhyping the Spider-Man bundle.

Thing is, have no idea on quantity produced for this and the Kart Switch bundle, so yep both were super hot, but will that be reflected in the Nov results? Tough to say.

Based on store checks and anecdotal, the Spidey bundle, the One X and the Kart Switch bundle all seemed to do real well. But selling out doesnt necessarily mean much, all depends on how many units were made available.

Shrug.

Just keep doing you Mat and remember that 99.9% of us appreciate your insights.

I know this isn't the thread for it but I'm guessing Sony and Insomniac's relationship is solidified. They sang Sony's praises about the development process and how they acted as a publisher, I'm thinking access to Marvel IP would make a potential acquisition food for thought. I'm not saying they'll agree or that Sony has even made an inquiry. Just that given their history and the audience they've found on the PS platform a Sony acquisition probably makes more sense to them than an offer from any other publisher.

I don't see anyone buying Insomniac. Insomniac would be really expensive to acquire. Much more so than something like Obsedian or Ninja Theory that were almost bankrupt. Talent comes and goes, so IPs are very important. All their biggest IPs are owned by someone else. Spyro, Ratchet, Spider-Man. Nobody's buying the studio for Fuse and Sunset Overdrive. It's probably why nobody bought Telltale. So that's good for us. A healthy studio that can make heir own choices is the ideal scenario.

You say no one, but MS is over trying to buyout any studio they can get their hands on. Until they stop I will live in fear of having ratchet and clank devs snatched away.

Look at the studios being bought. For the most part, they were smaller studios that needed aid to make the projects they wanted to make. You don't see studios like, say, From, Rocksteady, Insomniac, etc... being bought. MS got the okay to improve their 1st party situation but it is more than clear they didn't get a blank check.

Personally, I like it better that way. Help the smaller studios and hopefully make them into something big instead of taking big studios away from others.

But yeah, how about that Spidey bundle!......

Do you have any insight on how the 3DS did?
I was surprised New 3DS XL and New 2DS XL systems had no price drop at all. I was planning to get one for my mother and passed when I saw it was MSRP.
They only had a special edition 2DS with Mario Maker.
I know 3DS systems did well last holiday cause it's a cheap gift. Would that still carry it this year?

This PR came out the following Monday last year.

So, assuming the results are PR worthy, we'll be getting something this Monday or Tuesday.

I know that there is a black and white (slim) PlayStation 4 on the shelves as we speak, but when did those silver and gold models come out? I think they look great!

I really wish they would release different colour variations, like they did with the PSP, such as mint green, lavender purple and felicia blue.

It was around Summer last year during the first Days of Play sale.

The thing is, they have stock. It's going to hit stores on Tuesday in the form of a COD bundle. They were obviously cool with selling just the number of BF bundles they produced. They have to be happy with that even if some gamers aren't due to not getting one.

You know what I'd probably agree with this ranking.

I'm saying that Lost Legacy is better than UC4 and he should play that first. Fuck spoilers, it's not like UC4 is this riveting tale or anything. Playing UC4 first might turn them off the series altogether since it's a game with a lot of "downtime", and it might not connect for people that aren't already invested in the series.

LL=UC2>UC4>UC1>UC3

It is more the gauge of demand I was getting at. It doesn't seem like it was remotely close to meeting demand. It means good things to come down the road.

That might be one of the greatest bundles ever released with a major game in the holiday season if true.

The game, the console, the extra controller, and its price. Good god.

In retrospect this may have been more about building "more" momentum...

Really curious how this is replicated elsewhere.

In the UK Xbox One 1TB has been selling from £139, though more typically £159, whilst PS4 has been selling from £219 and it is only the 500GB version. Huge, huge price gap.

In light of $199 US-bundles the UK price seems incredibly stingy. Might bite them, hard to call.

What's the point of bundling all that? I can't imagine there's enough stock. They probably just want people to go to Walmart.

Yup.
Create hype and emotional mood swing.

When the hyped people didn't get the bundle, they will be disappointed and be depressed, so therefore, they will buy random crap from WM to feel better or they will think WM has the best deal in town for Cyber Monday and will buy random crap for Christmas.

This is an online deal.
People who look for a great Ps4 deal online don't just buy some groceries because they're already in the store.
And even just for onlinestore traffic i don't see how this would make much sense.
