Original (the second "tweet"): 现场青沼原话「我知道你们在想什么,switch 的天剑没错吧」然后全场爆发如雷掌声我差点飞出去

Translation: Aonuma said "We know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword on Switch, right?" Then the audience were clapping like crazy. I nearly flew out.

Are you a native speaker ? Just to be sure it's an accurate translation.

The user has pictures from the concert and it seems like a fairly tame tease. I see no reason why it would be fake or anything.

In any case, Skyward Sword would need a lot of work.

Yes.

BTW, people on Chinese forums are now hyping for a switch release due to this piece of news. But I am against the idea not opening a thread though. It is no way near a official confirmation.
this nugget will land on mynintendonews in a few hours, then spread across all the usual nintendo sites and we'll have a thread anyway :)

They'll obviously remaster Skyward Sword at some point, Aonuma put out his rough "10 years is a good time" quote during WWHD interviews and Switch is the perfect platform to natively support the original control method along with alternate options. I just hope none of y'all crazies will put this on your weekly "let's predict 2019" lists...

How are they going to do the 1:1 motion controls for SS?
wasn't the whole skyward sword port discussion in here just a few months ago?

you just do the same thing again for joycon and then add a touch version for handheld mode (the clunky part will be the forward stab).

why make the game worse? seriously. everything is designed around the freedom of control in that game. removing that is a really really poor idea.
Because many people hated (and still hate) SS motion controls. I loved it and had no problems with the motion controls. Let them see what the game is like without motion aka not as good.

To be honest, I really like Skyward Sword (don't even mind Fi). It would be a real shame if they ditch motion control.

Skyward Sword already looks gorgeous in Dolphin with just a higher resolution and the removal of that mosaic filter. They just have to redo the textures like they did with Twilight Princess and it's perfect. Maybe they'll use Breath of the Wild's lighting engine like they did with Wind Waker HD.

Skyward Sword got shit back then and it's going to be worse now with Botw out. It's one of my favorite Zelda games.

At least people who complain that they want more focus on the story and traditional dungeons will have what they ask

God, give me Skyward Sword fully playable in handheld mode and I might be able to beat it again. One of my favorite games ever but it's tough for me to sit down and play today.

I'm doubtful about how the joy-cons could replicate the Wii Motion Plus though.

I thought the Joycons had the exact same gyro sensors as the Wii Motion Plus? Probably even more accurate ones actually. Skyward Sword only used IR for recentering the aiming reticule so it should be fairly easy to port to Switch, at least to be playable in docked/tabletop mode.

it's the same thing but better, what would be the problem?

From what I understand about the technology behind both (Motion Plus and Joycon), it would just take a button to recalibrate the center, right?

The joycons have a recenter button (press Y) when using them to point on the screen. It's in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

Yeah it should be a very simple change. Meaning a very easy port.

Except for making it playable in handheld mode, which is my sole concern.

Mmh I remember discussions about the lack of IR on the Joy-Con making it difficult to make some Wii ports but if you say so I'll believe you.

Yeah Skyward Sword used gyro aiming for everything. Even shooting.

The IR was used to calibrate and recenter the reticule but that can just as easily be done by a prompt saying "point the joycon at the center of the screen" and then pressing a button to confirm.

Again, handheld mode is the real barrier.

I am way on board for a Skyward Sword redesign. But I mean a serious redesign. Like adding entirely new villages to the Sky, adding more content and depth to the ground, etc.

Sure, Jon. There are also some Japanese tweets out there like this one from a11244. I can read Japanese too and the translation is accurate.

Edit: Shimamura Yu is Zelda's voice actress.

Nintendo would probably easily port most of recent Zelda games (WW/TP HD, OoT/MM 3D HD and SS HD),
but IMO biggest problem for them is how they would manage all those releases on Switch and not overwhelm one platform with so many Zelda games,
platform that will almost certainly have onother new 3D Zelda and onother 2D topdown Zelda and maybe even some kind of spinnof of already released BotW.

It will be interesting to see what Zelda games Nintendo will release on Switch, I definitely expecting at least one Zelda game next year.
