I think I have to buy RE7 again for VR. I played the kitchen demo and it was....well...I have no words. I'm playing on the base PS4 but I don't mind the visuals....it's so damn immersive...WOW
The kitchen demo looks substantially worse than the actual game. The beginning hour demo is barely worse and will give you a more accurate representation of the game. The beginning hour demo doesn't have much to do with the actual game. Only one part is spoiled but it doesn't matter imo.
The first tape
The entirety of RE7 (Kitchen, Beginning hour, Re 7, Basic DLC, Not a hero DLC, EoZ DLC added up to the GOAT gaming experience of my life. Closest to an interactive movie I have played

I just finished the first world of Astro Bot and I cannot put into words how much it has sold me on PSVR as a product and the future of VR itself

If you've played it you know exactly what the fuck I'm saying (without really saying anything) here

Just fucking phenomenal and a real true game of the year contender
And it's getting better! Later worlds are even better!
When you think oh my god this is the best level, there are better ones awaiting you!

You're gonna need move controllers for Superhot and other shooters.

Did you turn the knob in the back that tightens and locks the head band in place?

Yes. It caused the headset to slide up faster.

After messing with it more it is probably a combination of my longer hair causing it to slide up plus the flat slope in the back of my head not allowing it to catch right. Oh well. As long as i don't spend more than an hour it doesn't get too uncomfortable.

are the DLC´s worth it? the game is used much more expensive in the gold edition than the normal one and i have read not all DLC content is playable in VR.

RE7 Beginning Hour and Batman were two of my first VR experiences. I was blown away by simple things like being able to duck down in real life and look UNDER A TABLE! Haha. Seems silly, but it's pretty mind blowing at first.

I also remember in RE7 bending over and putting my face in the pot of disgusting old stew and being physically repulsed by it. I also instinctively held my breath when my face was below the surface of the stew.

Are there any PSVR experience sort of things that work for just sitting and chilling in a nice landscape to destress? I don't even mean a game. Just kind of like Norman Jayden's office in Heavy Rain.

I bought all music and scenes packages of Anywhere VR.
Though resolution is low.

It feels really relaxed

Come on PSN, give me an Astro Bot sale!

It's on sale on EU PSN for about US$23.

You can create an EU account and set your same PS4 as primary to make it easy to download but payment can be a bit tricky - not sure how hard for US people to get EU payment to work but for me in Australia setting up payment on US PSN requires purchasing US PSN cards on Amazon, PlayAsia etc. to add credit to PSN acc which is ok, as CC and PayPal region checking prevents easy linkage. Still worth it to get the best of sales in both EU and US as they are very different.

Cool, I'm going to replay this game asap.

For RE7? You can only play that with the Dualshock.

Dualshock motion aim like in Rush of Blood? I don't mind if you can only aim with the sticks, the experience is fantastic.

If you don't want both at least get End of Zoe. However IMO they are all worth it. I think one of the banned footage tapes is not playable in VR but everything else is. One of the banned footage games is a cool card game, one is a cool puzzle game, and the other one is a fun survival mode. End of Zoe is a pure fun epilogue

RE7 is a very traditional game, its basically only a VR camera. But it will teach you HOW MUCH extra just a VR camera adds

So how's the word of mouth on Deracine been? Feels like it's been weirdly understated for a new Miyazaki x Sony Japan joint.

Man it's killing me there isn't a made for VR RPG, but the production would be far too expensive to justify on VR at this stage.

Skyrim's neat and I'm enjoying it but it's clearly compromised. A game built from the ground up with all assets tailored around PSVR's power limitations would be wonderful.

Seems quite mixed overall, with a lot of universal complaints centering around the controls and some confusing narrative choices. What I've seen of it reminds me of the pre-Souls games that From worked on, like Echo Night or Kuon, which were heavy on atmosphere and a bit lacking in most other areas.

So is there supposed to be a film on the lenses? I know on the version 1 headsets there was, but not sure about these version 2 in these bundles. I ask because I can't really feel a film to pull off but damn does it fog up quickly.

Having a 60fps version of Skyrim on console is very nice, that's never been done before. Actually, its never been close to that, even the Pro and X1X are not completely locked 30fps.

Make sure the headset isn't substantially colder than you are. If the room is cold and you're hot, it's likely to fog up until the temperatures even out.

If you do experience fogging, pull the visor out from your face a bit to let some air in. After a little while you should be good to pull the visor tighter to your face again.

Don't know about the film issue as I have never opened a brand new v2.

I loved RE7, So much better in VR, But the EOZ/NAH dlc don't belong near the main game, Clearly they went for action and felt way out of place.

Play RE7 by itself, the other bitesize dlc's are just ok. Nothing on the grand scale of the main.

The sound in that game I still unreal, Defo play it with headphones.

Fogging happens due to them because so close to your face, it produces heat, makes your face hot, gets the lenses foggy

apparently if you wipe a light layer of spit on them it prevents it (or you can just let the machine "heat up" and that apparently helps too)

Anyone have any tips for getting the sort of sweet spot where you can see as little of the dark edges of the lens and as little pixelation as possible?

First modern VR experience was X-wing Vr mission from battlefront, almost cried as a star wars fan in my mid 30's
Played up to the boss level in Astro Bot - loved it, thought the Nintendo comparisons had to be hyperbole but I was mistaken. This will be the first game I beat.
Did the demo level VR Worlds into the Ocean - this was great for a passive experience, I think my wife would love it

and then there is Thumper, a game I completed on Switch but wow is it a completely different experience in VR. Everything feels more menacing but at the same time more manageable.

going to splurge, should I get Batman, Statik or I expect you to die?

Don't own Expect you to die, but the other two I do. If you're after more of a drink in the experience, take a knee and look around kind of game its Batman all the way. If you enjoy puzzle games or want something a bit more intense I'd go Statik. I enjoyed them both quite a bit but I'd rate Statik higher personally. It also has a free demo, you should try it and see if its to your taste if you're on the fence.

I used to have this probably all the time. Now I just turn it on 5 minutes before I want to use it to let it heat up. Makes a huge difference.

Played a few levels of Moss and the first two of Astro Bot. Both are wonderful little games, but I am absolutely ecstatic to play more Astro Bot. Had just a bit of motion sickness, but it seemed to pass. My only complaint, especially after having played plenty of stuff on the Vive, is that it feels like I can't get the lenses close enough to my face? I've tried all of the adjustments, and it still hangs a bit.

I wish I was recording my brother playing Kitchen, because he damn near jumped through the ceiling of our house when Mia stabbed his character in the leg. And I couldn't stifle myself with the buildup to her putting her hands over his eyes.
Some of my favourite moments in VR so far have been watching other people play, the social screen is a fantastic feature.

My girlfriend tried to kick the shark in VR Worlds, then when her brother tried it he did the same.

I'm really hoping my Gen 1 will be compatible with PS5. I would be choked but I realize that as an launch window buyer those are the risks. I'm just hoping the headset will be compatible and we get a new set of trackers/controller. That's the only thing that's holding back PSVR IMO.

Picked up the Astrobot/Moss bundle. What games can I pick for my SO who is hyper sensitive to motion sickness. She tried Job Simulator and Title Brush on a Vive and was OK. She tried the Tuscan Villa demo on the Rift and almost threw up after about 5 seconds. So basically only stuff where you aren't moving around in the VR world.

I have PS3 move controllers, so I'm looking at Beat Saber. How is Tetris VR for motion sensitive folks?

Playing with two move controllers (had them since PS3) and sometimes only one of them will connect to the PS4 when I press the PS button, the other will just sit there with the red light at the bottom on but will not respond to any button presses. Ill have to reboot my PS4 and connect them one at a time slowly. It alternates on which one is unresponsive sometimes. Is there a way to reset the move controller without rebooting the PS4?

You can try holding down the PS button on the controller and remove the devices before reconnecting.

There's a tiny bit of motion in Tetris after you beat a level, but she could easily just close her eyes for that. If you haven't tried Moss yet, that should be okay as well. As far as I can remember, there's only one brief instance of motion in Superhot.

To those curious, 2MD's big update just went live in EU (previously it went live in the states on Thanksgiving, but was delayed overseas due to FQA scheduling). Adds social screen 2 player mode along with a bunch of other fun enhancements. Currently the update is free for the base game, so. Have at it.

I had this problem until I rested the headset higher along the back of my head instead of the recommended lower. Now it feels too close at times but I like that feeling better.

For anyone still on the fence that lives near a Meijer store, on Monday there are two deals that stack for an incredible ending price. A 20% off coupon begins 11/26 which can be used on any one item in the store. Add that to the $200 PSVR / Camera / Astro Bot / Moss bundle for a $160 (plus tax) out the door steal of a deal. I'm hoping to jump on this if my local store still has a bundle in stock in ~36 hours.
