Do the Etrian Odyssey games have continuity? I feel like I should get EO4 for $10.

I get my Switch delivered on Monday, but if I'm interested in Snipperclips can I buy it now before I miss out?

Switch:

  • Also, I keep seeing a lot of recommendations for SteamWorld, anyone in particular I should start with? Any other (digital only?) gems I am absolutely missing? Thanks in advance.
Steamworld Dig 2 and Steamworld Heist for $10 each is robbery. Both of those games are amazing and I would recommend paying $39.99 for each. They're amazing gems and absolute gems.

Strongly considering picking Valkyrie Chronicles 4. Does anyone know if there are any performance issues that I should be aware about?

I bought it and playing mostly on handheld. I couldn't see any major performance issues. The game is 30Fps though and looks a little bit rough on TV mode but handheld is fine.

Steamworld Dig 2 is considered by many to be the best of the three -- it's a sequel to SD1 (natch), but I believe you can just go straight to SWD2 if you want.

Steamworld Heist is separate from the Dig games; it's technically a turn-based tactical game that comes before the Dig games in terms of timeline. It's the only one I've played myself and I enjoyed it a lot, so if you want a one-and-done dip into the Steamworld universe it's a good place to start.

Thanks, guys. This morning I realized that I already have Steamworld Dig 1 on 3DS (got it from a Humble Bundle deal, I think). Going to try and play it in the next couple of days to see what I think and maybe get the sequel and Heist.

I caved and bought Tropical Freeze. I told myself that I needed to finish some of the games I already have first but it's been a while since I played a 2d platformer and from everything I've read Tropical Freeze is one of the best.

Have fun playing Dig 1 and imagine to yourself while playing, "What if this game was x3908430983 better?" ... then you have Dig 2!

Steamworld Dig 1 is good, but 2 is on a completely different level.

Dig 1 is just a cool little digging game with procedurally generates levels and a few fun challenges with a couple of cool upgrades.

Dig 2 is a 100% hand designed full blown metroidvania with some incredibly fun dungeons and fantastic upgrade progression. It's easily one of my favorite games in years.

I snagged boxboxboy and Hyperlight Drifter... and I think I'm on the fence about Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion. Really enjoyed the prequels as a kid and the nostalgia is pulling me in!

edit: and by prequels i mean the Illusion series, not Epic Mickey. Ah what the hell, takin' the gamble.

is Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Gold Edition worth it at that price? not sure if the DLC is worth my time and extra money compared to the base game.

Is the gold edition of Mario + Rabbids worth it for the Donkey Kong campaign or is the regular edition still good?

The Messenger is SO GOOD! Highly highly recommended.

Also South Park Stick of Truth. Haven't yet played on Switch but was addicted to it on Xbox. A classic IMO.

I've managed to hold off buying anything from this sale. My backlog is too big! Can't guarantee I'll manage to hold off until the sale ends though, hah.

When does the sale end? I won't have extra money until tomorrow night but I'm so in for Skyrim and Disgaea 5.

Finished SteamWorld Dig 1 and 2, while they were great they also were really short, 3 hours for the first and 5 for the second, started Heist and it seems like the quality continues, can't believe how fun the combat is.

Steamworld Heist is amazing. I already have it on 3DS, but I kind of want to own it again on Switch!

You rushed them though, there's no way you would find most of the secret stuff in 5 hours.

If the games are part of the Nintendo cyber deals promotion then it ends on the morning of 11/28 (NA of course). Not sure when sales end for games that aren't specifically in that promotion though.

So, does Mario + Rabbids Gold include the Steampunk Pack? Season pass says it's included in the description, but on the checkout page, there's no indication that it's in there.

Steamworld Dig 1 is 2-3 hours, but Dig 2 is at least 6 hours if you ignore all the side stuff. Took me 10-12 hours to 100% the game and it's one of the few games I've ever played where it was enjoyable to 100% it.

Yep! Bought it myself months ago and got the Steampunk Pack with it. However they're not very good. You'd only use them early on. The 8-bit weapons are far better.

I've never played a Steamworld game but I have enough coins for one, Dig 1, 2, or Heist? I hear the order doesn't really matter

1 and 2 are similar, Heist is from a different genre. Try watching gameplay videos of them so you can see which one you like more.
