There's not a ton of profit to be made on these ps4s. Not sure why ppl would go through the trouble of buying multiple to make $50 or so. I am selling my extra for about $30 profit. Could probably get more but nothing significant. When I was making several hundred bucks on a wii that was something! $50? Meh!

For some people, 30 bucks is a shitload of money.

That Canadian bf vid is funny. Seeing those US videos is terrifying, the fuck is wrong with people

A few of bundles that the xbox has, unfortuitously for them, are with games that have not been well received. They hitched themselves to battlefield and fallout, there might be some tomb Raider ones out there as well. Maybe the creators one is selling well who knows.
I've seen the Minecraft bundle sell out more than the Battlefield V bundle.

Why do modern consoles force a mandatory install? It sucks. So far, I've sat through a system update screen and now have to wait an hour to install Spider-Man before I can play it. It's off to a wonderful start enjoying my shiny new console! Except that everything requires having the patience of a monk while stuff installs. I miss the good old days where you set up a console, pop in a game, and it plays instantly but c'est le vie. This is the reality we live in.

Blu-rays are incredibly slow for the amount of data that has to be streamed. Games transitioning to flash media would be cool.

I remember when I got my Wii, it felt like a really long time to get everything set up, get all the settings right, make a Mii, fiddling with the IR and so on. Setting up a new console always takes some time, and that's to be expected.

The disc installs are a different beast, but they're a good beast. Sure, sometimes it takes more time with huge games like Spider-Man, but most games install really quickly. Even so, you should get into the mindset of always putting the disc into the system the first thing you do. But when you've done that and installed the game, you get to enjoy the benefits of running the game from the hard drive, and for me this really is the ultimate way to play. Physical disc media with an install onto a fast hard drive, and then for tens or even hundreds of hours when you're playing the game, at every moment of the way you're benefiting from that initial install. It's a fantastic feature for me and I just absolutely love it.

I buy all digital. The best thing about digital pre orders is the game is installed and ready to go the second the release date hits. But yeah most retail games will let you play after a minute.

Meanwhile in Canada...

Just trying to act normal so as to not attract attention they are heading to the ps4 pallette.

It's gonna be interesting to see if Sony actually managed to break the 2 million barrier. I'm reading a lot of stuff on Twitter/Facebook every year during BF and it looks like a lot.... I mean really, A LOT of people bought PS4 consoles. Like, even when the Spidey bundle was sold out, they still bought the standard SKU with games and controllers. Even though the standard PS4 was more expensive. All that, while ignoring the $199 XBO completely. So the Spidey PS4 sold out, the standard SKU sold very good and even the Pro sold well. Like I said, it's gonna be interesting. 2 million good? Let's see :)
edit. Benji
Cyber Monday (26th November) and the whole next week still counts towards November NPD, right?
Honestly, if they shipped unlimited stock, I wouldn't be surprised if they could hit 3M in November. I mean people actually ignored other consoles for the regular priced sku on Black Friday!

They've had shit luck with bundles this generation. The one shot they actually had was PUBG, but immediately after creating that alliance Fortnite came and ate PUBG's lunch.

I haven't read through this thread, but I was at a Brooklyn Bestbuy last night & many people were asking CSRs to search this bundle in the Tri-State area... none were available. :o

$30 profit on a $200 PS4 is more than the retailer or wholesaler would make on the machine. 16% profit seems pretty good, otherwise cash in a bank would make only 1 or 2% in a savings account.

I think if you're waiting for say like a NES Classic and flipping that for double, that's not what people do, people are flipping everything they get their hands on and you'll get some winners and some that aren't.

Its insane how FOMO works in some of these cases. I went around Monday and bought 4 of these PS4's at gamestop (donating them all to toydrives, not reselling) and it was super easy at gamestop, each store had 40+ and no problems selling me 4. Come friday and every gamestop is completely sold out and apparently tons of people are mad they can't buy them. They were available for $199 sunday, monday, and tuesday and only a few people cared, but suddenly its black friday and its a madhouse of demand.

anyways I think people who bought them to resell are about to be in for a rude surprise, a new PS4 bundle that comes with BLOPS4 instead is supposed to release on cyber monday and I'd bet its also at a $199 price.

Nah
I used to flip a ton. You're not gonna typically spend thousands to turn that type of minimal profit. There are much better options out there.

Yeah, the bulk of these units intended for Black Friday were sold long before Black Friday.

3 million is fantasy land (Sony did not ship that much). But as I've said, 2 million would be fantastic! :)

Looking good. Some good sales lately, as I can see & read :)

So Cyber Monday week count towards November NPD, as Mat has confirmed. That wasn't the case last year.
Which means I really think Sony will break the 2 million barrier this time :)

All games on PS4 fully install every game, but typically you can play 99% of games without having to wait for more than a minute. GTV,RDR2, and Spider-man are rare cases where the game needs to be fully installed before you can play. Most games let you play while the rest of the game installs

So far, Gravity Rush Remastered has been the only exception I've observed in requiring no install to play, the same not applying to Gravity Rush 2.

I don't know what happened to PS4 installations. But in the past installs on PS4 were pretty much instant. You put in the disk, then it was like "poosh" - installed! It took literally SECONDS to do it. It was always a shitshow in the Xbox One. But now it's the same on PS4. Every game installs like it's 1995 PC gaming. It took fucking 1,5 hours to install RDR. It took 10 minutes to install AstroBot which is only 7 gigabyte in size. WTF.

Nintendo Switch

For the most part...

They force mandatory installation, because Blu-Ray is way to slow to stream data to play.

Blu-rays are incredibly slow for the amount of data that has to be streamed. Games transitioning to flash media would be cool.

You all have been incredibly helpful! I've never gotten so many "X person quoted your post" alerts so thank you guys so much. I really appreciate it! Coming from gaming on the 360 (I still have a TON of games to play on that), it's been jarring to say the least. I didn't know most games let you play it as it installs save for quite a few. Metal Gear Solid 4 predicted what was to come. I have God of War and AC: Odyssey on the way. I guess I'll see what all the buzz about Spider-Man is about and post some impressions later.

I had $15 in credit sitting around in my account so I bought my first digital game, Hollow Knight since it was on sale. Definitely will check out Gravity Rush when it's on sale. I have no idea how the share button works but it should be fun! Feel free to add my PSN ID: Jipan181.

Sony has rules about when retailers can start selling games. They should do the same with these Black Friday bundles to avoid many of them ending up in the hands of scalpers. Amazon/Ebay is full of these things marked up over 100 dollars.

As far as scalping goes, if I were looking for a PS4, I'd say screw that and grab a Pro on sale.

Scalpers should die in a fire.

It's kinda hard to find a Pro for sale anywhere, let alone at a discount. I was lucky that someone told me about the military site selling the Red Dead Pro Bundle for 300 last week, otherwise I wouldn't have one. I can tell the difference between the regular PS4 and Pro on my 1080p TV, but I don't think it's a 200 dollar difference. But for 100 I think I'm going to keep the Pro.

You're not doing it right. I opted out this year for various reasons, but usually I horde gift cards from all retailers and use my Best Buy points. I could've bought 5 of these from Best Buy and paid nothing with my 50,000 rewards points. At $300 a piece I've made $500, and converted $1000 Best Buy certificates into actually money. Some people just aren't cut out to scalp.

First time PS4 owner here. I've already picked up Spider-Man (with bundle), God of War, Horizon Complete Edition, TLOU, Uncharted 4, Nier Automata, and Uncharted Lost Legacy (along with a year of PS+). What am I missing? Thinking of picking up Bloodborne (though I didn't love Dark Souls) and Ratchet and Clank. Any others? What about console exclusive indie games (eg. Guacamelee 2)?

I'd recommend changing your share play settings. Press the button to bring up the menu. Then go to settings and change the button layout to the other option. This means that in future you just press the share button to take a screenshot and hold it bring up the menu. And if you want to save a clip press Square after the menu shows up.

You can change the quality of the screenshots, videos and even the shareplay stream you share with somebody when they are watching you play or playing on your behalf.

Lastly probably best to change the length of the clip that saves. It's set to 15 mins I think but I changed it to save the last 30 secs. That might be too short so you can choose a longer time but generally 15mins is way too long and will result if you having to edit a lot more saved clips to trim them down. It will also use up far less space on your HDD having shorter clips.

Lmao, money isn't a thing I'll ever need. I do this for the pleasure of ripping people off and denying them the deal. I don't buy the gift cards, they are usually gifts or work prizes . I just get some choice over target or Walmart and the like. I'm talking about my Best Buy reward points. 25000 is a $500 gift cert. also $75 or so in tax total isn't an issue. When I'm spending literally only that.

Gravity Rush Remastered is a unique game. It may not be for everyone but I personally think it has one of the best traversal systems around. Resogun is a short and sweet quality game form Housemarque and Nex Machina (another Housemarque game) is their best work yet. Guac 2 is a good pick too. If you like JRPGs, try Persona 5. It is a very long game though (too me ~110 hours to complete). Just keep that in mind if you go for that one.

It gives the best return on investment. I'm literally turning it into free money. And they will sell for $300, in N.C.? I can sell two of these on Craigslist a week.

Why are you a fucking sociopath?

I wouldn't say I'm a sociopath. I just like a lil chaos. Besides I'm saving people with low credit limits.

I edit my post with new games, all of these are PS4 exclusives (or PS4/PC exclusives)
You now have a list if you want to try a new game, I didn't post multiplatforms games because they are usually well-known (and maybe you already did it on Xbox or PC)
