I love this game. It has the vibes/ atmosphere of RE4 and Fallout while having
the same level of suspense/psychological aspect of PUBG w/o the downtime.

Game doesn't have microtransactions that could affect the atmosphere, balance, etc. (So far)

Like the guy in the video says, this may be considered a new sub genre.

I'm not paid to say this, I only think this game has been severely underlooked and deserves more attention.

The part about leveling up, purchasing guns and peasants... It is stupid and doesn't belong in any game which is even remotely competitive.

Until the game ditches the backwards progression system, it has no business winning anything. If it was like most BR/survival games, where you spawn with basic gear and scavenge for better, it would instantly reignite my interest.

It does indeed. The game is a masterpiece of atmosphere and tension. The fact some people have the gall to question modern Crytek's game design credentials would be laughable if it weren't sad.

Wonder when we'll get a release date for the Xbox version.

How does it put you on the backfoot?

Because your options are super limited if you don't have money? Have they removed all the in-game dollars purchasing loadouts and peasants before q-ing into the game?

I think you are just playing dummy because people don't know that unlike most games, you actually spend your in-game dollars (which you earn by playing/winning the game) to purchase much more expensive and elaborate weapons BEFORE the game even starts. Weapons are consumables.

Please explain how this game is fair for the new-players who have nothing in the bank.

When is coming to xbox?
No release date has been announced. It was revealed at Gamescom Inside Xbox so it's probably soonish.

Also, regarding the possibility of a PS4 version...

DEATH PROTECTION? That wasnt in when I played the game some time ago
Was added in version 2.5 on October 10. It's officially called Trainee Mode.
  • Trainee mode: With this release we are introducing the "Trainee mode" for Hunters up to bloodline rank 15. We believe this will help new players to familiarize themselves with the game, without having the risk of losing Hunters in this process. When your get killed your Hunter will not be gone permanently. After such a scenario, all you need to do is buy the equipment you wish to equip your Hunter with.
Please note this only applies until you reach bloodline rank 15, and does not apply if you prestige.

You mean same 2 bosses. There's more enemy types with different characteristics/ways of attacking.
A third boss is coming within the next three months as well as female monster variants and perhaps more importantly female hunters.

The second map has been a great addition. They definitely need to keep up momentum and steadily add new content, though. The Xbox launch needs as much content.as they can manage because first impressions really do count. That said, the work they've put into refining the game design has been critical. There's no point having heaps of content if the gameplay is half baked.

I played this before trainee mode and never was out of money. To this day I still haven't killed a boss or extracted one.

So how it worked back when I played you still got paid even if you died but if you took out enough enemies, dogs and other things, you got a decent pay. The hunters were randomized and sometimes came with skills and weapons higher than you could purchase yourself. But because of that this helped out in you playing a match and not being killed instantly. The only way you would have no money, is if you went in several times, killed nothing and continued to die. Which I couldn't fathom anyone not understanding the pacing and mechanics after first match. The game is pretty brutal.

While I had fun, and think that atmosphere/art is great. I don't think this is even close to GOTY material. It is MP only, the leveling systems and conditions for winning is slower paced and harsher than most people are used to and like other people have mentioned it is lacking content. I have it installed but haven't started it in a long time. Waiting to hear it get a decent content infusion.
