I've been a longtime fan of David Bowie and as far as I could tell, he was a relatively decent human being. He seemed to advocate rights for those who couldn't speak for them selves like the gay/trans community, and I wasn't aware of him actively speaking up for anything harmful.
Unfortunately, a random thread just made me aware of stuff that I had never heard about, despite being aware of his death and the community reaction. I knew he was hugely admired and influential, and some people criticized him, but I didn't know he was apparently a pedophile. :( This is a really sad thing to discover. There are also posts saying he could have supported fascism but changed his mind later after getting off drugs.
It was pointed out that the thread was being derailed and it was not the thread for it:

Mods, if you're reading this, PLEASE don't sweep the thread under the rug unless there is strong evidence to the contrary. I really don't want Era to fall under the shadow of even appearing to cover up pedophilia, especially given the events that led to the creation of Era. That said I know that a lot of people may be emotionally impacted so I ask people to please post respectfully so there's not a temptation to lock the thread.
