Oh I wouldn't do it quite yet
If anything would do it during a potential season 3 finale.
I'd almost do it end of season 2. By then he'd have been Robin for 3 years (which I think is about what his tenure was in comic book time). Of course, it depends on how much time passes between seasons, so it could still be end of season 3.

All of Jason's storylines are bad including death in the family and everything involving red hood. I'd rather they just go with original stuff for him

Dick was worried about the bad influence Bruce would pass onto to Jason... but Jason was pretty much already there by the time he was found... he just now has an outlet to kick ass and let out his aggressions

Jason is not a regular... the main cast is those we've seen already, Dick, Rachel, Starfire, Beast Boy right?

Batman putting trackers in the skin of his partners seems kinda creepy.

Also why would he need to, he's called the Worlds Greatest Detective, he shouldnt be needing trackers.

I'm loving this series so much. It's blasted my expectations... Which were rock bottom. I'm loving it better than Arrow.

The team dynamic is still forming. I like that. And I appreciate them contrasting Dick with Jason. Since the beginning of the series, I've been thinking Dick has been behaving more like Jason would. But I realized I was wrong after seeing Jason take pure joy in fucking up those cops...

This makes me want a high budget Batman series in the uncut nature like Titans. Would be fantastic.

I couldn't help but to think of

Yeah, why does he need any equipment to track his villains or need Batcomputers or Brother Eye, if he's the world's greatest detective

TBH, Batman is one of those characters that could thrive on TV and you wouldn't need a high budget to do it well. If Arrow can do it, Batman can too, hopefully with better writing. Plus Batman has an infinitely better rogues gallery.

Gotham and Arrow show it extremely well.
Arrow gets the cape action stuff right(and some decent villain stuff like Prometheus,S1 Merlyn, S1-early S2 Slade)
Gotham gets the villains, setting and characterizations right.

Only thing that can't be done well is a big chase sequence the movies typically have, but who cares it is worth the trade off.

That's why I said high budget. The Batmobile's gotta be in there. I'm also thinking of higher talent crew, which would require more cash as well. But keep the seasons down to 12-13 episodes. A dash of villain of the week with an overarching plot combined with solid writing and... Wallah.

Good thing with Batman is that you can have a balance which has been demonstrated with Arrow and Gotham, much like you and PHOENIXZERO said.

I think I especially enjoyed this episode because it's the first time the Bat-family dynamic has really been explored in live action (unless you count Batman & Robin I guess but ...ugh). Would totally watch a Bat-Family show in this universe.

Also I think they should avoid Jason's death for a while. Explore that dynamic more and Dick's feelings on being replaced before even another Robin comes in. Then when you eventually do Jason's death (like season 3 or 4) have it happen off screen and the catalyst for introducing Batman where he comes to Dick with the news and that he needs his help to take down the Joker (you can show the actual death later but let Batman break the news).

Batman putting trackers in the skin of his partners seems kinda creepy.

That's totally something Batman would do.

The Batmobile looks like a cross between Keaton's batmobile and some aesthetic from the Adam West version

Yo guys,

For the people who did not like the first episode but kept watching...

Does it get better? Because I am getting bad DCEU vibes.

Never judge a show by their pilots... ever. Yes, the show does get better almost immediately afterwards.
However, if you want a light breezy show... this is not the show for you... it gets hardcore at times, but that's not a bad thing in of itself.

It does feel a bit DCEU but I think it works because it goes all the way to R rated territory instead of backing off right before that line is crossed. But yeah, it does get better after the pilot, though I thought the pilot was alright.

The show sort of lightens up a bit as it goes on, but it's still overall a dark and serious tone.

Or what's best option to watch on my TV

This show is in big trouble... the show only gets good when it doesn't focus on the actual Teen Titans

I guess it's the first time the team really saw that side of Dick in action.

Their faces during the scene.

That episode was fucking brutal end to that arc while leading seeds open for the next. And Starfire has regenerated healing with means her flight should come back once she regains her memory.

Just a great episode all around

Neat episode.

Guess Dick lost his suit now. Time to work on something different, ey? ey? ey? ey?

I was expecting Dick to use those electric sticks in the last fight you know, a bit of foreshadwoing.

I completely agree. It just moves way too slow and it feels like nothing happens. This show should have been an instant win for me, but I'm having a really hard time staying interested.

At least Doom Patrol looks like it's going to be much better.

I'm all caught up, couple o' things:

- The cast uniformly excellent
plus the kid who plays Jason Todd nails it
- This show just proves that it wasn't the grimdark approach that ruined the DCEU, it was mostly the shit writing. Titans - aesthetically and tonally - fits right alongside BVS and Suicide Squad, but it's actually well written (at least by comparison).
- They're totally setting up
Dick to become Nightwing by the end of the season, and I'm hyped to see it.

Really enjoying this, definitely way more than any previous DC show.

I think the show is very good but we need a big villain asap. I hope we get
Deathstroke
sooner than later.

Sooooooo did they just kill everyone in that building? It was made pretty clear that Dick didn't kill those guards, just fucked them up very badly... But then he has Starfire light it up, which pretty much had to have killed everyone still inside. Also, Gar taking out that doctor was pretty brutal. Was wondering if that was gonna affect him going forward.

Nah. Batman: Under the Hood parts 1 and 2 along with the movie adaption Under the Red Hood are great. I've heard a lot of good things about Red Hood and the Outlaws. For all the changes DC comics goes through Jason was one of the few characters that really came out great in the end. Same with Dad Superman. Though from what I heard Bendis is doing his best to destroy that. Haven't heard any negatives regarding Jason yet.

I don't understand why he did that or what we are supposed to take away from it. In his hallucinations he puts Robin and the associated brutality behind him, he decides to stop blaming other people for his faults. Then he drops the weapon to represent ending Robin. But then he murders a bunch of random guards (and possibly other patients that were still prisoners, they didn't search the hospital at all) just so he can also burn his costume? What a dick. When Robin let that criminal die it was supposed to represent him crossing a line. Now he's got double digit body counts, possibly tons of innocents for all he knows, and the show seemed to present this as a moment of positive catharsis. Really weird and I'm not sure what they are going for.

Like what was the point of him being horrified that the new Robin was brutalizing cops if Dick's epiphany this episode is to be more full of bloodlust than ever?
