It's weird how accepting people are of cultural relativism when it results in the death of people from groups they don't like.

More like don't stick your hand into the beehive several times that has killed others before. It's not about cultural relativism. It's about another Christian crusader looking to rewrite another group of people without even realizing he could have killed them all with diseases he doesn't even think about.

I don't understand how someone could say this. Don't you realize that these people have a unique culture found no where else on Earth?

Aren't you curious about their traditions and their customs? What are their myths and legends? Their religion? What are their explanations for outsiders? Do they see it as a religious sign, a supernatural occurrence, or something else?

I just wish I could somehow hear their folk tales and the stories they pass down from generation to generation. Simply fascinating.
You can do that from a distance thanks to technology. Since you can't understand their language, you won't be able to find out about their customs and folklore unless if one of them leaves the tribe, knows how to speak in modern languages, and spreads the knowledge to non-tribespeople. Leave it to them for you to get to know them better.

lord forgive a man trying to do some good and cheer the tribes man who killed him .

Hahahaha fuck off with this disingenuous bullshit.

He was a missionary. He was there to shove his fairy tale down the throats of anyone who had the misfortune of giving him the time of day.

SMDH at trying to make him sound like he went there trying to do the tribe any favors whatsoever. Trash ass post

I mean killing people is not cool no matter what.

They are a tribe of people who exist out of our time, they have literally no concept of this kind of thinking.

So it cannot be judged this way.

The laws surrounding their isolation exist to protect them AND OTHERS from this. If you go near them, you risk death willingly.

I mean, if someone keeps breaking into my home despite various warnings from me and authorities, I'll eventually have to do something about it to protect my family.

It's weird how accepting people are of cultural relativism when it results in the death of people from groups they don't like.
If he was an atheist or a Muslim I doubt people here would've wept for him either. Don't shove your views down people's throats, especially tribespeople, it's not that hard to figure out, buddy.

No, they don't know that murdering invaders is wrong. This is bloody obvious mate. They are isolated entirely from our world, laws morals, standards, ideas, EVERYTHING.

There are literally laws that prevent people going anywhere near them, for the protection of the tribe AND their own.

Would you put the same standards on a tribe that existed many thousands of years ago? They ARE those tribes, preserved in a bubble in our time.

It's a tribe that knows about the outside world, not a bunch of stupid caveman. We as humans didn't just
recently discover that murder isn't a nice thing.

Then you need to read about them before you talk about them, because you're completely wrong.

Wait waiy wait, I don't give a fuck about their morals, laws cetera. They murder some dude and that's not cool. And invading? Do wasn't iinvadin shit. I mean all throughout time tribe like this have experienced outsiders and not kill them.

The only thing that is wrong here is the guy who flaunted the law and went near these people knowing very well they would attack.

Like the above person, you really need to do some research here.

Amazes me these are still places like this: known enclaves of tribal peoples relatively easily accessible to the modern world that is a no-go zone due to the complete and violent reaction to outsiders arrival. Feels like something out of mid to late 19th century fiction.

Good on the Indian government to take an official stance of leaving them the hell alone, sad outsiders can't just let them be.

This tribe has been like this for a long long time and their past interactions with the outside has lead to death, kidnappings, disease and so on. There is a reason they don't want outsiders on their island and reason people shouldn't just go there for a lark. Let alone try three times to do so.

This island/group is all these people have left.

Let's not pull another pilgrim/Native American situation please.

Yes you are and you clearly haven't read that link.

They have had contact with us but never communicated with in any way that you're implying.

This is what I said. Please point out where I was wrong or the passages you might not understand.
Your ignorance is wild. You didn't even read your own link.
the fuck is that arrogance coming from? I didn't hurt you. Can't we discuss this like decent people or what?

Your ignorance.

Read your own link.

An uncontacted people, the group, estimated to be composed of anywhere from 40 to 500 individuals, is believed to have lived on North Sentinel Island for as long as 55,000 years and speaks the Sentinelese language, a language isolate not related to the native languages found on the surrounding islands. Indian authorities have put in place laws that prohibit any individual being closer than 3 miles (4.8 km) to the island, for both the safety of outsiders, as the Sentinelese are known to be hostile, and the Sentinelese themselves. Being an isolated group, they likely do not possess the genetic immunity to survive exposure to common viruses, such as influenza and measles.[6][9].

Unlike other ethnic groups found in the Andamanese Islands, who were more welcoming to outsiders and now interact with them somewhat regularly, the Sentinelese appear to have consistently refused any interaction with the outside world.

Maybe they found something on that island 50,000 years ago and don't want anyone else to find it.

Murder is mostly a legal construction. It means an unlawful killing.
Yes it's been long document that that unlawful killings have been deemed as such a bad thing by thousands of tribes all over he world for thousands of years. Or do you think that even this tribe itself does not have it's own customs and rules?

A tribe isolated from modern society does not mean it does not lack rules and customs. The mere fact they're even a tribe implies they do.

Oh ok fuck off. All I said is that they know about the outside world and that they had contact with it. Both is true, it's all on the link I posted. You just want to be a prick I get it.

No you said:

"It's a tribe that knows about the outside world, not a bunch of stupid caveman. We as humans didn't just recently discover that murder isn't a nice thing."

The link literally proves this to be incorrect. ATTEMPTS at contact didn't teach them what you imply it did.
