First movie was great. Here's hoping this one will be close to as good. Reviews are pretty positive.

Not out until next week in Australia, which sucks... but Rocky IV is my favourite Rocky. So Must see this sequel :D
This movie dragged for me. For reason I didnt feel any sense of urgency. Only really the moments before the fights. It just fell pretty flat.
I don't agree with this at all.
If anything it cribs more heavily from Rocky III given that
Adonis gets destroyed in the first fight and has to modify his style to win in the second.
I actually liked it more than the first Creed (which was excellent) and I was genuinely surprised with how much nuance they gave Drago and his son given how relatively one dimensional the character was in Rocky IV.
Also, the fight choreography was excellent; some of the best in the franchise.

Going to go watch this tonight. Wasn't too sold on it with the trailers but the positive impressions have changed my mind.

It's a good movie. You either like this a tad more or less than Creed, which is impressive by Rocky sequel standards.
People also keep saying this is the sequel to Rocky IV.

Yeah if the first film lacked anything it was a great villain.
The Dragos deliver that, or close enough.
That was a perfect sequel. Amazing sound direction and composition. The fight choreography was much better than the first.

This is one of the rare sequels to a great film that exists on the same level of quality. Too soon for me to decide which is better both are just amazing movies.
Whatever qualities it lost in the transition to a new direction it made up for in other areas. Notably the antagonists who had a heck of a lot more depth than I expected. Also, movie had some really touching/emotional scenes.

Loved it. Have to think on it more as to whether or not I like it more than the first one, but Creed 1/2 > Rocky 1/2 for me.
I actually like Creed more just because I identify with Adonis more than Rocky. The fights in the Creed movies are way better than Rocky movies. Rocky was a terrible boxer, lol.

Story was thin and predicable but pretty well executed. Ending made me tear up. I liked it
Maybe it's becaue I saw the Rocky movies as a kid and I'm biased but I feel like those movies did such a better job of building up to and getting you invested in the main event. It's like this movie had pacing issues and didn't provide a proper lead-in to the climax. It didn't have the dramatic impact I expected it to. I think that's a director issue.

I agree and that's exactly what I texted a friend. I was more touched by what happens between them at the end than anyone else.
The first Creed was better but this was definitely a crowd pleasing movie, a lot of people in my sold-out showing were cheering. Michael B. Jordan continues to show off his acting chops and Sylvester Stallone did great as well.
What made the first movie better in my mind was the combination of it's script and director. Creed 2 director was good but the script could have been better (The actor did a good job elevating the script and the Drago's ended up being better than I expected)

also lord in heaven so many cameos, including them bringing back the hostess from Rocky Balboa which was surprising/awesome
