If I go into system settings and change my region to buy some of these games can I still play them after I've changed my region back to Europe? Or is it better to create a second account in the switch?
You can, but depending on which region you are going to lose any credit you may have (right?). And if you need to buy eshop cards because you can't use your credit card or PayPal in that particular region, you won't be able to switch back until you expend all the credit. For example, I can't use my cards or payPal in the US eshop from EU, so I bought a card from an online shop and swapped the region in my main account. After buying something I still had like 0.11$ and so I couldn't change back to my EU account. I had to ask my sister in law for her credit card so I could top the credit and expend it in something else so I cut put my credit to 0... After that I created a second US account.

Tl:dr: you can but it may be better to make a second account if you are going to use region swapping often

Thunderforce IV, Wild Guns Reloaded and maybe Snipperclips (I would prefer the Plus version) and Mario + Rabbids.

Does Axiom Verge go for more than 50% off on other platforms? Was waiting for a good price on the Switch version and I feel like it has never gone for more than 50% off on even PS4. I am quite busy now so I can wait for a better sale if possible; I just don't know if that will ever happen.

Hmmm I never use money balance, only the credit card for the exact ammount but the system warns you that balances, at least points, remain in their original region.

I'm pretty sure 50% is the lowest on console. I got it on PSN for that price. I'm sure it might go lower on steam as is usually the trend with indie games.

Thanks. I checked Steam and it has never been more than 50% off, and it has also never been bundled. Looks like I am getting it for the Switch.

I also finally got SteamWorld Dig 2. These are probably going to be the only games I get, but not bad overall. The retail game discounts for the sale are awful in comparison to the in-store Black Friday sales. Good thing I prefer physical on those.

Not as fancy deals on the EU-shop as here... (yet at least)

If nothing shows up in the next few days, i'm gonna cheap out and change region for the first time :P

* Celeste
* Valiant Hearts
* The Messenger
* Gorogoa

Are all games I wanna get.

I'd definately recommend Steamworld games for everyone Dig 2>Heist>Dig also the Lego game is a pretty crazy good deal.

I really enjoyed it, I do have an emotional connection to the original though so I'm not sure if that's what speaking.

But for 5$I cant imagine being dissapointed in that game, classic game vastly improved. Not sure if all the extra content is availible in this purchase but there's a cool bunch of extra characters at least.

Thanks so much for your reply! I'll be eager to check it out. I think I have the original or Wiimake on Wii but didn't play them yet. Did you like the Wiimake? Would you still recommend that original if I play this one and like it? Are they pretty different in content?

Also, I hope you enjoy Celeste a ton. It is a really special game with astoundingly good platforming, and especially satisfying when going for 100% in the levels. Played 45+ hours so far and still going for that 100%. It's a really just wonderful game.

Thanks for the replies. I changed my region in settings but the estore is still showing me the UK version.

Sorry for derailing the thread.

I never played the Wiimake so I cant really compare them. I'd still recommend the original, it's harder though and lots of QoL are missing.
But still a Sunsoft game and for what it's worth.. the music alone makes me revisit the original from time to time.
Fun fact: I got it for my 8th birthday back in 1991 :P

Yeah Celeste is right up my alley.. Any other year I would have bought it already but I promised myself I would take of my backlog as much as I could and some games have fallen between:/

I've been holding onto some eShop points for awhile now and was looking into getting either The Messenger or Into The Breach, even though it isn't on sale. Any recommendations?

Is Persona Q a good fit for someone who has almost no experience with dungeon crawlers? (Just in case: I am specifically interested in the Persona franchise and have no interest whatsoever in getting Etrian Odyssey instead)

So it really depends on how much Persona you need to enjoy it. Persona Q plays exactly like an Etrian Odyssey. It doesn't have social links or any of the out-of-dungeon activities from Persona. Story-wise it takes place entirely in the weird dreamlike dimension.

Now, it does have some Persona flavoring. The dreamlike dimension does feel like a modern Japanese setting, just... clearly not real. And you get all the characters from P3 and P4, including some fun interactions between them. Plus persona fusion stuff.

If that's enough to get your motor running, give it a shot. But it's definitely missing some pretty big parts of the Persona formula that might be deal-breakers for you.

In other news, I'm thinking about picking up Etrian Odyssey 4 or 5. I've played IIRC 1, 3 and Persona Q. Is there any particular reason I should go with 5 at twice the price?

Is there a chance we are getting Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon physically at some point? I am very tempted but I bought Sonic Mania and less than a week later Mania Plus was announced I would hate to do that but it's also only $7.

I mean, never say never, but I'm a Kickstarter backer and no super-secret-exclusive-physical offer has been mentioned for Curse of the Moon. It's always possible Curse might get a physical release someday through LRG, but I don't expect that to happen anytime soon. The game is great and totally worth the $7.

Thanks for the info! I'm a little younger than you so I never had an NES, but I remember fondly getting certain games on birthdays and holidays and the excitement there of. On a separate note of the great things about VC on recent Nintendo systems was getting to experience some of the games I never played as a kid, especially stuff that never got ported to GBA as many S/NES games did. I'll have to check out some other Sunsoft games, I'm not sure I've ever played one.

I hope you dig Celeste a whole lot. If the story isn't your speed just enjoy the platforming. It took me a while to get into the story aspect but it grew on me a lot. The platforming is exquisite from pretty early into the game though.

Excellent sale! Grabbed:

Sega Ages Sonic 1
Sega Ages Lightening Force
Shining Resonance Refrain
Disgaea 5 Complete

And my 256GB SD card is all filled up with only 1.2GB to spare! :'( Time to clean the fridge! :P

Starlink Deluxe Edition is a big consideration, but I'm only hesitant because the game might go down in price sooner or later, plus it's only a 25% discount.

Really surprised Attack on Titans 2 is the only musou on sale. Was hoping for Hyrule Warriors or Pirate Warriors 3.

How is the game (AoT2) by the way? Worth $35?

Anyone here ever played Starlink? I've been told I should pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition if I wanted to get into it.

Wait... when did Stick of Truth drop on the Switch? I must have missed that slip onto the scene after Fractured but Whole. Speaking of which, is the Gold Edition of FbW worth it? Never played the game and think I may take the leap.

The fact that WWE 2K18 is still allowed to be purchased is just criminal. That game is essentially unplayable.

Rented Mario and Rabbids last year and loved it. Grabbed the Gold Edition here to replay it and try the Donkey Kong expansion.
