Review scores are going to depend on whether if reviewers take pricing into account or not. I reckon this looks like a solid 8 of 10 title, but AAA pricing is going to knock it down to 7-7.5/10.

It's also coming at the wrong time of year. This would of been a perfect June to August game. I reckon it's too hard a sell for later November.

Perfect near RE2, KH III, DMC5 and Sekiro? Are you mad?

The only crowded period this could still do well is if all the big games are shooters and/or multiplayer-focused.
Those are january and march. Darksiders would be fine in februari, Hardly crowded. Holiday season really only works for big releases.

/edit: okay I forgot Metro, but even so, there's just more opportunity in those early months than holiday season.

Pricing should never be taken into account when reviewing a game.

Metro is from the same publisher/label, so yes, i don't think THQ Nordic wants to release both games in the same month

This game will be $30 by Christmas if it follows THQ price trends, which sucks because I want to buy it full priced. But I can wait a month or two.

Can't be worse than 2, I'm in the middle of replaying it and it doesn't age well. Some dungeon puzzles aren't bad but controls feel off or something. Also don't like how the game is laid out. I hear 3 is more like 1 so I jumped in...and with BB point stuff & GCU, $35 is a good price.

I think this game would do better if it releases in the first week of January

Forgot this game exists despite seeing updates about it frequently.

Darksiders just never clicked with me after the 1st game.

I felt the first game is much weaker than the second. The shooting sections in the first one were atrocious.

This has bargain bin written all over it and it's a shame they are trying to market this to the Souls fanbase with the mostly 1 v 1 battles. Darksiders 2 had almost nailed the combat system.

I have 1 on Xbox Game Pass and 2 on the WiiU, which should I play to get a feel for if Darksiders 3 is going to be my thing?

The original idea was to give to every horseman a different combat system, that's why Fury is different from War and Death.

I realy loved the first game and enjoyed the second one (got the special edition with Death´s Mask) so I am realy hoping the game can deliver. I´m a fan of the lore and universe they build so far .... hoping for the best.

Do we have any idea if this game is more like the first regarding the Zelda-like design of the dungeons? All of the videos that I've watched don't really give much insight into anything other than the combat...

Nice to hear a few positive hints from reviewers.

72.

I miss nice, big 3rd person action games with over the top plots. So, yeah, I'll probably buy it.

So the first Darksiders was Zelda influenced.

Second one was more open world loot RPG influenced.

This one seems Dark Souls influenced?

I don't understand how 100k in a few months is good for an AA game, what the hell kind of money they spent on it?
Three years of development. Gunfire Games has ~60 employees, but they work on multiple projects at the same time, so let's say half of the company was working on the game on average. Let's use a generic estimate of total monthy office + salary costs of $10k per employee. That would mean the budget for the game was slightly above $10M. Add some contractors, outsourcing, localisation, marketing and other overhead to that, and it's probably a couple million higher.

They'll probably need to sell around 400k copies to break even.

Expecting high 70s-low 80s. Still have it preordered. We need more games like Darksiders.

Just look at this. This is straight out of a 90s cartoon. We need more of this in videogames.

Did see another reviewer enjoying the game as well.

Hey that's me! Yes I'm a huge fan of the Darksiders franchise but I was let down by 2. The sprawling, loot style was ok but I missed how tight and well designed the original was.

Too early to say how it fits overall, but it's already way above part two for me. Also after suffering through Red Dead's stiff movement, playing a game with controls that are lighting fast and responsive is a godsend, Double A game or not.

Well, this is awesome to hear... I'm the same. Loved 1, didn't really care for 2.

Looking at the trailers again I find Fury's voice acting way too cringe and over the top. Not a deal breaker, but if that's indicative of the general tone of the game I might have a hard time following along in the story. Can't wait to read the reviews, even if I'm certain I'll pick up the game either way.

That was a concern for me as I started playing but she grows as a character much more than War or Death. It's a nice shift in attitude throughout the play time.

Do you feel the combat is more diverse and has more depth than the first two games?
