Saw it yesterday.

Really good. Such an enjoyable watch. The action was all great and all, but the comedy sets it apart amongst the MCU. Easily Top 5 Mahvel film for me.

Two after credits scene :
First one is thor and loki talking about coming back to earth and they come upon a spaceship (probably the shit that wrecks thor and leaves him in space for GOTG to pick up)
Second one is goldblum stepping out of wreckage and getting surrounded by the junkyard people on his planet, apparently caught, nothing to see here

Didn't expect movie to be so amazing honestly, music is top notch although I would have liked more synthwave, action was packed but also some good time to breath, top humor which hits better than GOTG which is hit or miss for me, amazing visuals (the last thor scene geez, wrecking those fools)

Top3 MCU for me

Hela was good but honestly I think she was the least interesting part of the movie.
That may just be because of how much giddy fun the rest of it was though.

I think Hela had good buildup but got a bit old maybe ? And her defeat could have been better but getting pierced by lava giant is fine

Brilliant movie. I have to say Korg was one of my favourites, Taika has comedic timing for days. I'd like to discuss the new look Thor gets in this movie but its super spoilery and I'm not sure we have spoiler tags yet.

alright spoil the post credits scenes for me please

So I'm not sure we have spoiler tags yet but... this is a spoiler thread right? One is setting up Infinity War and the other is following up from a major character from this film. (There are only 2 post credits scenes).

The cameos were absolutely amazing. Was there more than one scene during/after the credits?

There was 2.

I saw the movie today (technically yesterday considering it's the 26th now) and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
I wished Dr Strange stuck around longer, but I can see why he wouldn't be bothered to help them more than he needed.
Hela disappeared too quickly; the fight against her was too anti-climatic. Not an interesting enough villain for me personally

Korg is definitely a pleasant surprise, his first scene didn't do much but he's great later, his voice did all the work

edit : uh isn't spoiler threads no tag anyway ? sorry if I had to haha

Also I get that a lot of people died but damn the last of the Asgardians all fit on that ship? What was she even hoping to rule after murdering everything and everyone

Korg was amazing, action was amazing, visuals were amazing

Also this infinity war teaser that was leaked,...not sure what to make those thor scenes

Edit: thinking about this more, that head squashing scene could have been from the beginning of the film, before thor gets thrown into space.

Saw Ragnarok last night. The trailers were misleading.
It was fun, Really like the feel and techno 80's vibe going on.
They really made Thor cool as fuck, especially at the final fights.
Also Matt Damon cameo lmao

The ship at the 1st credit looks like the dark aster ship to me.

I must have missed cameos, what did matt damon do ? I'm bad at voices if he voiced an alien (korg ?)
Also no idea what ship is in post credit but doubt it's ronan's, would be awesome for it to be beta ray bill's who kicks thor's ass in the beginning of avengers IW

I missed it too. Apparently he was Loki and Thor was Luke Hemsworth

At first I was thinking that the humour wasn't quite landing, but it picked up and by the end I was cackling at Korg's final line (and what a refreshing twist in character direction after that one animated planet hulk movie I watched once).
All in all, another fun marvel outing, and perhaps more importantly it was a step up for the Thor subset of movies.
Also Blanchett was grand.

Matt Damon was playing the actor loki, the scene after thor returned from helheim. fun fact, the actor that plays thor is Chris Hemswoth's brother.

Edit: Beaten.

Seriously? People couldn't tell that was Matt Damon? I was smiling from ear to ear as soon as I saw his face. Wasn't expecting that at all, and then Sam Neill as Not Odin too!

They did an amazing job with the casting for this.

Hela didn't feel like she has anything to do with the overarching mcu plot. So probably not Death substitute for Thanos?

A bit shallow in her motivation and backstory, but damn Cate Blanchett sell the hell out of this character. I'd love to see her back in mcu.

I didn't realise it was Matt Damon lol, but he definitely looks familiar now that I think about it.

I really like Ragnarok, it's goofy and fun. One of Marvel top tiers imo.

It's a shame they cut out Odin's being homeless bum part out. By I can understand why, the movie is already 2 hours long and even that felt went by too quickly as in I wish we have more of everything. More Dr Strange, more Odin, more Hela, more of Valkyrie backstory.

Btw. What is Valkyrie's name? Valkyrie is more of a rank, right? Not name.

Such a good time and so many colors!

Matt Damon and the part when Thor is singing to Hulk broke me. Lol

I watched it yesterday, oh my God I loved it, it was superb I was laughing so hard.

It's easily my favourite Marvel film to date, exactly what I want from a comic book film.

Korg and his Rock Paper Scissors joke killed me, I couldn't stop laughing.

I enjoyed it, my wife hated it.
I wasn't expecting the dirty jokes though, I'd hate to have taken a kid to the cinema and get asked about anus and orgy.

Took my 9/12 year old, was all good.

"Oh my God. The hammer pulled you off?," "Sounds like you had a pretty special and intimate relationship with this hammer and that losing it was almost comparable to losing a loved one."

That line killed me.

Am I crazy or they actually changed the setting when Hela destroyed Mjølnir?

I watched the trailer again, cuz I was so certain it was different than the actual movie

HiLife Beta ray bill isn't in the movie, only his face statue (there's also a hulk face statue being built, and 2 other guys I didn't recognize)

So does Thor get a new hammer? I mean he cannot be Thor without the hammer.
Nah, he sees Odin in a vision twice (vs hulk first and later vs hela) and that gives him his super lightning powers (odin force ? they don't give it a name), in the second vision Odin tells him Mjollnir was only a catalyst for his power and he doesn't need it
His fighting when he gets the superpower is really cool

Well that sucks. :(. No more picking up the hammer jokes.
