Watching the Affirmative Action episode right now it's pretty good.

Great guy, great shows. Loved both episodes and glad to see his success. He is actually a friend of a friend, so a second degree connection if you will.

I have a very real worry that this is going to fail because of how brown this is. Seriously. The first two episodes alone refer to lotas, Kumon, Fremont, Edison, and even an entire ending sketch dedicated to us. And while I'm excited to see this representation on the screen, I worry it'll turn off most of the other viewers and then no one watches the rest of the episodes and thus another Netflix weekly bites the dust.

I loved how specific his humor was. I'm East Asian descent and it was interesting how in-jokey it felt. Not the broad stereotypes about SATs, parents and grad school — which were funny but generic — but the smaller jokes that referenced a specific cultural experience outside of mainstream American culture.

I hope that enough people keep on watching it. I love the sort of John Oliver-type format.

His line about hipsters hating slaughter houses unless they're in Yemen was just jaw dropping. Damn. Also fuck him for hating on UC Santa Cruz . Love the show so far.

What's the topic? I will try to catch it tonight.

Amazon.

Tonight's episode was alright. Some of the jokes didn't land with me. It was more informative than funny if that makes sense.

He's teasing an episode on Modi and man I am so excited about the shit storm that will probably create lol.

Amazon episode is great. He's so much more refreshing by being relatively honest (i.e. using Uber).

This is the first Netflix talk show that has hooked me. Really, really fantastic stuff. I'm looking forward to watching the Amazon episode when I have a chance

He jumps around too much. It's something with the hands in the wide shots that keeps bothering me. Too much moving around is annoying

holy shit this is fantastic. Watched the amazon ep and now watching the saudi one (netflix starts with the latest damn it), didnt know 3 aired already.

This is the closest to actual Daily Show (the Jon Stewart one obviously) we've had imo.

This is a good show. I just want to say that, as a white person, the show isn't "too brown" (or whatever people have been saying). Most of the jokes landed well for me.

The Amazon episode was pretty good, too. We've all got that lazy side vs woke side battle inside.

Just saw the first episode and I really like it. Hasan is on point, I love the fast pace and the visual cues.

Just caught the episode, good as always. I need to do a deep dive into the oil reserves thing, didn't know there's so much actually stockpiled.

Hasan should have really taken over the daily show instead of Trevor. He's got boundless energy. The only thing I'd change about this series thus far is how some episodes have a second half that has nothing to do with the episode title.

I've only watched the first two episodes so far but I think this is great. I hope it continues for a long time.

Good material, but don't like his delivery. The same old as everyone else seemingly in this day and age: loud, a lot of hand movements, can't stand still. Meh.

I'll keep watching though, the material is great.

I must be uncool, because I'd never heard of Supreme. On the other hand, that shit stupid.

Loving the show so far! It's better than Michelle Wolf's show, and I still miss it :(

Got a Drs appointment every Monday for the foreseeable future and this is filling in the time perfectly. So far every ep has been really entertaining and interesting.

Another hilarious episode. According to the Patriot Act Twitter account, they were actually sold but had really limited amounts to make a point.

I've also been watching the Deep Cuts online and they're just as good, if not better than the actual episodes. Hasan does Q&A with the audience and the results are hilarious. The one where he tries to hook his staff up with other girls is amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIqlB1rkZHY

Oh shit I hadn't seen this before. Just watched two vids and I'm with you, I reckon I enjoyed it more than the episodes themselves and The Patriot Act is the only political/comedy style show that I watch. To be fair I'm Australian so a lot don't really concern me directly but Hasan Minhaj just has a great balance

Really hope It kicks off and does well for him because I wanna get used to this

The last episode (Supreme) wasn't as good. Rest were really solid.
Oh and less hand movements please. They are almost distracting to me.

This show has been stellar thus far. Finally someone who can fill the Niche Stewart left. (For me)

Side note. It's been great to show my friends the Amazon episode as it's something that's been concerning me for a few years. I was also looking into delivery network opportunities for my vet buddy because he asked. But after digging, it really doesn't seem like a good prospect at all. It seems to me that the reason trying to establish their own networks exclusive to Amazon (you can't deliver non Amazon packages from the fleet they help you set up) so effectively they'll try to kill other mail services as Amazon takes an ever bigger chunk of the pie and then renogotiate your per package/block delivery fee once you have no other options. Amazon really is prettt rutheless in many ways.

I really love the production and framing of this show. It's really impressive how shots are always lined up perfectly with Hassan framed in just the right way to show the intended visuals behind him. I can't imagine how much planning and rehearsal it takes to get all of that right!

Yeah, both the episodes and the digital exclusives are a blast. I also don't get a bunch of his jokes either but it's also cool that he's got such a variety of interests and can make such niche references. The baby staring joke from another one of the deep cuts made me laugh my ass off.

You might like Aamer Rahman if you haven't heard his stuff already. He's Aussie and a few of his jokes didn't land with me due to local references but you might appreciate them. Nonetheless, the dude is hilarious.

Another thing I love is that he always addresses all his criticisms in a funny way. So many people were dismissing PA because it was "yet another late night political comedy show". Loved how he addressed that during the Supreme episode.

I love this show, especially because a lot of the digital screen production stuff from his Netflix standup special are also in this to give you direct reference material on what he's talking about that works really well for presenting information about mostly important topics.

Enjoyed the last two episodes. Solid run so far, can't wait till 2019.

I randomly stumbled upon this old video "Good Son" again and I just realized this sketch had Hasan Minhaj in it! I completely forgot this was by Goatface. This same group have their own sketch show on Comedy Central now. Cray cray.

This week's wasn't as interesting to me because all the social media fuckery has been pretty front and center for awhile now.

Show is taking a break for a few weeks until 2019.
