Yes it's true.Is it true that once you've chained 31 the shiny rate doesn't increase anymore so it's best to stop catching and wait it out?
Was going for a shiny Drowsee (for Hypno) and lost it at 60...
Forget the run animation, the real incompetence is the controller configuration issues when you switch from Co-op to single player. I don't know if it's just me but I literally can't find a way to switch back to handheld mode in game, I have to always reset the game. Honestly think this is embarrassing for a company as profitable as Game freak.
i ended up beating it after raising my venusaurs special attack and special defense by about 100 points each. How do you even beat that? Can't be Sleep Powder'd. Can't be Leech Seeded. Can't be Poisoned.
Yeah I started rotating my initial Pokemon and have been avoiding catching so I ended up underleveled in Celadon lol. Need to do some chain / grinding. Not the most difficult Pokémon game, but still a much greater challenge than I was expecting. Using chain catches and in general catching a lot of Pokémon you can make the game very easy, but by staying a bit more conservative with the catching, and rotating your team, you can make the game a good challenge.
I have a shiny Hypno to trade. Which shiny may you offer in exchange? :PIs it true that once you've chained 31 the shiny rate doesn't increase anymore so it's best to stop catching and wait it out?

Yes. As long as it doesn't run away from you.Can you run from a Pokemon that you have a streak on?
For example, if you have a 31 streak on a Growlithe and accidentally encounter another, can you run without killing the streak?
Eh. I wouldn't go that far. As someone who hunts in every gen I'd say this is the most satisfying its been in quite some time.So you have to grind 7h to get a shiny now? Feels like nothing special anymore :/
There's trainers that just hand out a bulbasaur and a charmander it seems. Didn't even have to to a Quest.
So for those who don't chain catch, how difficult is the game?

With my Evoli its was pretty easy. With water, electric and fire attack. I had only 3 badges. Evoli is just OP with the special attacks. That stretch from Lavender Town down to Fuchsia City was brutal for me. There is an Ace Trainer with a Sandslash that just fucked my whole team.
.
You are aware the amount of Pokemon caught is different for each person, right? That has nothing to do with self-imposed rules.why people keep repeating this "if you ignore these features and dont do these things and keep this arbitrary rules the game is harder than before!!!"
if you do self made restrictions in every game previous to LGPE its harder than it as well. This is not an argument. We're comparing base games using base features here and base LGPE is braindead easy. Which is the point - it was never designed to be a tough one. The focus here is not the battling, which is good for some, disappointing for others.
I played Black and White and HG/SS last year and this game is exactly as hard as those. As it turns out those aspects that we thought were handholding, were actually there because it's very easy to be underlevelled in this game if you don't spend a good amount of time catching Pokémon, so you need a progress check once in a while.why people keep repeating this "if you ignore these features and dont do these things and keep this arbitrary rules the game is harder than before!!!"

Maybe he should've went after it straight away instead of shrieking like an idiot and playing up for his audience first.
is there a more glorious looking beast than a shiny rapidash or are the several hours spent trying to catch the fucker clouding my judgement?
Hmmmm
So whats the consensus? Is a good entry for someone that never played the series?
Oh yes. How can anyone have such a fake reaction is beyond me.Maybe he should've went after it straight away instead of shrieking like an idiot and playing up for his audience first.
Yeah, i never really played pokemon and this looks fun.Yes I think so. The game is really easy to get into and oozes with charm. It is also a really fun game.

I think the animation of some attacks looks a bit off, but i will buy it
Looks like it's 1080p docked, 720p portable.Do we have Digital Foundry analysis? what's the res docked for this game? Because it looks surprisingly good on my 4K TV
So for those who don't chain catch, how difficult is the game?

Wait so i cant fight wild pokemon?
Dunno if I love or hate this. The tedium will go down for sure at least
Did you go to Pokemon Go, go to your Pokemon menu, click the switch icon and select a Pokemon to transfer?So... has anyone actually been able to transfer pokemon from Pokemon Go?
I've tried 2 phones and my tablet, and none of them will connect to the switch when I talk to the guy at the Go Park, but they'll connect just fine when I try through the settings menu... I've tried resetting, disconnecting, all that shit.
Kinda at my wit's end, here.
Is there supposed to be a confirmation in the game that it's connected? Because it just says "Searching for a Pokemon Go account..." forever.Did you go to Pokemon Go, go to your Pokemon menu, click the switch icon and select a Pokemon to transfer?
That process wasn't at all obvious to me when I tried it. I assumed it would connect first then you select the Pokemon, but it's the other way round. Bad UI design that.
