Me too, especially ballistic fiber. Shit is rare! Some balance tweaks would be appreciated. I'm highly anticipating tomorrow's patch.

In a way I respect it because all the other Fallouts were too easy handing out ammo and material like trick or treat candy. It was partly my fault I went exploring in a tough area hoping to find some treasure and ended up expending a lot of resources.

One note for Ballistic Fiber is that it's only used to repair higher level armor, not craft it. So there were a few times where it was better off for me to update my armor set with new gear taking mostly leather and steel, rather than scrounge around for the fiber.

Thanks but I am not seeing the silos, I'll try logging out and seeing if that fixes it. Aren't these suppose to be rare? I found 2 back to back not that far a part from one another.

Not so much rare as you need to find the correct ones for the correct silos, and then use them as a cipher to decode words, and then fight through a million robots, shoot down a cargobot.... its an involved process.

I don't remember how I got them marked on my map, but all silos are down the Savage Divide.

I may try to organize a 6-8 person group in here soon. Probably not tonight, but sometime this week. No way am I trying to run I Am Become Death solo again, but I want to wrap up the main questline.

So all of a sudden, all of my Side Quests disappeared..... I mean when I logged in today.

Yesterday was just fine but now like 5-6 of them are gone and i can not reactivate them or trigger them again.

Anyone had similar issue? Playing on x1x

My side quests are rewinding, which is kind of weird. I have to repeat steps that I completed days ago.

Ballistic fiber is hard to come by. Definitely tag that one so that you can see which items in the world scrap into it. Also bear in mind that repair costs do not scale with CND, so try to wait until your items really need it before doing any repairs.

Just got punted from the server rather abruptly. Upon logging in today I was already being attacked out of the load screen by a pair of Scorchbeasts, so I ran off and just logged out to switch servers. Went about my business for a while and then travelling back to my camp yet again I found a Scorchbeast assaulting my house. This time I had just come back from crafting my set of Excavator power armor so I decided to drop the shotgun shells to kill him. Those things are not rewarding at all to kill so I'm not sure what to do about it if it happens again; you get a bit of meager loot but you lose a shit load of ammo and maybe a few healing items. Thankfully power armor does not seem to get shredded CND-wise like standard gear does by their breath attacks, I'd have been pretty pissed off after just sinking the absurd amount of materials needed to craft this thing only to need to immediately repair it again.

I actually already also have a full set of T-51b but I think I'll stick to the Excavator power armor. The full set gives you +100 carry weight which seems worth a lot more than the DR increase of T-51b at the moment. That said I'm not crazy about running around in any power armor, I just can't seem to find decent enough armor pieces to justify running around without it against tougher enemies; crafting doesn't seem like it offers a solid way to keep your armor on-level like it works for weapons.

Part of me wishes I had gone melee instead. Explosives are powerful but until I can afford to stack up the explosives carry weight perk It's not that reasonable to lean on my automatic grenade launcher, never mind the cost of trying to craft up a lot of 40mm grenade rounds (they require I think 3 springs per 5 rounds). Shotguns have proven fairly powerful, but there is no armor penetration perk for shotguns and I can already feel that becoming a problem dealing with higher level enemies with high armor, like legendary Gulpers or Scorchbeasts. I can cripple these things easily (well not Scorchbeasts but everything else) but it's not proving to be that economical ammunition-wise. I'm always short on plastic, forcing me to keep a secondary weapon like my .308 sniper rifle. Unfortunately starting a new character in this game already feels like it will be a massive chore, and the opportunity cost of switching builds in this game doesn't look good (even if I could re-spec my SPECIAL stats, my perk card selections would take quite a few levels to get where I'd want to be). I think of Four Leaf Clover wasn't saving me so much ammo overall I'd be in a pretty bad situation.

The loot side of the game overall feels like it needs a little help. It currently leans way too hard into the crafting & modding side of things; the chances that you will find a legendary weapon drop that is something you'll actually want to use seems incredibly low given how rare those weapon drops are. It's felt less and less rewarding to level up and explore new enemies as their HP and damage gets more dangerous, while their drops don't seem to really come up enough to make that trade-off feel worthwhile. I'm mostly excited just to find Scorched that use shotguns so that I can steal their ammo.

Any tips for just starting out? I've only been to the first overseer camp and explored a bit.

I ended up terrified in a small log cabin camp area I found because there was this high pitched screeching and my screen was shaking. Lol

There's quite a few factions, and their quests take you to the most interesting parts of the map. I'd recommend following the quests designated Main, and only do side quests when you get bored of the Main quests.

To level up quickly, claim a Workshop, defend it against the first attack, reset your game, and repeat.

Despite my initial impressions of the game over the past few months I was able to temper my expectations of the game by simply looking at this game as multiplayer mode for Fallout 4 and I ended up buying the game.

After playing over the weekend and I got a character to Lv.16 I decided to start over again with an actual build in mind and I'm currently at Lv.10 but despite all the negativity surrounding the game I'm having fun. Outside random disconnections from the server I haven't really ran into any game breaking issues.

Anyone else getting a stable framerate, but a sort of stuttery/choppy 'feel' to the game? I'm pretty much locked at 63fps but it doesn't really feel how a game running at 60fps+ usually does (including Fallout 4).

Is there any way to appear offline in-game? Not only does the game tell you which friends are online (even though I'm offline on Xbox), it also puts you in the same world as your friend's. I don't want to play with friends all the time but the game keeps putting me into that situation.

So... I can't complete one of the main quests that sends you to the top of the world because the quest marker is stuck in the ground. That's the second quest that I now can't complete.

Seriously, fuck this game. I'm done buying BGS titles until I know the game isn't a buggy pile of crap. How long now until they fix this stuff? Why did they release the game in this condition.

If it's the quest is "The Missing Link", then you have to complete Rose's quests first (Signal Strength, Flavors of Mayhem, Keys to the Past.) I was also confused by that. They should have put the marker on or near Rose instead of floating in the elevator.

If it's a different step or different place, disregard.

Oh, I've only completed signal strength. Thanks for letting me know. Is there any fix for the Grafton mayor quest bug with the token dispenser? I can't complete that quest

No, that Token quest has been broken since the first beta, sadly (nearly a month!). Hopefully fixed in monday's patch.

Sometimes though it's the little radiant (?) quests that I don't get. I'll enter an area and it gives me a miscellaneous quest "Clear out [Location]", so I do and it disappears with no real reason or reward. Not saying everything must throw a carrot at you, but it's weird to explicitly list it as a quest, put markers over enemy heads (that I was probably going to kill anyways), and then just kinda go away with no fanfare..

Or I'll get a quest that states to kill a Wendigo in a clown suit, I do that and get like...30 caps for it. Throw away the suit, and it appears again in my quest log a day later lol.

After spending like half an hour straight just logging in and out in an attempt to find a server to kill Evan on, I finally did, and then had a pretty good night afterward. I had to reestablish my camp because I ended up on a server where my camp was overridden by another player, but I was able to get it back up and running in another location that I'll have to move on from anyway (I ended up building relatively close to Vault 76). In the meantime, I explored around the Mothman Museum and ended up getting into a weird contest of wills with a Level 2 player that insisted on attacking me with a machete while I was in my camp.

You and your friends are the only ones left playing the game.

Okay, so maybe you just shouldn't set up camp in the Mire. Nearly every time I fast travel back to my camp there I am under attack from two Scorchbeasts and a small horde of Scorched.

I got this while doing the cold case quest which was when I stopped playing.

I have been enjoying my time with the game, but the one thing which really REALLY annoys me are the sound problems.
1) Holotapes sound too low
2) After a load screen all sounds (music, radio etc) are loud, then they just suddenly drop to much lower levels

Has anyone experienced the same issues?
I'm playing on Xbox One X.

I'm watching my girlfriend play at the moment on PS4 and absolutely no other players are showing up on her map. Does this mean she's alone on this server? That seems like a, uh, not good sign?

I snuck to a base of someone I was grouped with and built a Power Armor rack for them since i had it unlocked already, anyone know if they'll get to keep that? I kind of assumed it would be 'theirs' since it was built in their workshop.

Definitely not wanted. She hasn't done any PVP stuff at all in the game.
Not sure how dynamics like that work but I've ended up alone on a server with my alt a couple of times, even during beta. Had it the other day too but then at some point it suddenly started filling up like crazy till it was full. I imagine if your server ends up being low it gives a grace period where it expects the remaining players to leave and focuses on keeping fuller servers stocked with players first.

I had the same issue with the cold case, until I rebooted, and it worked fine, couldn't tell if it was a bug or a world think. Though I'm still stuck on that mayor grafton quest where I can't repair the token thing :/

This is my favorite Fallout game after putting 25 hours into it. It's fun learning about the story of each new location that I come across.

There are so many bugs though and constantly managing my inventory/stash is annoying. I barely pick anything up anymore and can only keep 2 or 3 weapons at a time because they weigh too much.

The gas mask adding -2 to Perception totally makes sense but it means I won't wear it.

Hopefully there is a better version out there or a unique variant or a way to mod it.

Finally got my first Power Armor, the one at
Mama Dolce's

Not sure how to manage it though, I feel like unless it's on me someone will steal it

the only way someone can steal it is if you "drop" it from your inventory. When you drop it you are relinquishing ownership of the frame and anything attached to it. If you "deploy" it, it will be recalled to your inventory 60 seconds later. You can also just go up to and hit "collect" and it'll get stashed back in your inventory right then and there.

Getting the update now on Xbox. 48.4GB. Feels like they are replacing the existing files. Hope everyone has instant update on, or they'll have to wait a while before playing today.

good to know. was thinking about grabbing that

It used to do more in the older Fallout's, but here even using lvl 2 of the perk card, they give you nearly nothing in return for selling items, even those with listed high values, it almost feels like the perk doesn't work. I wont waste time with lvl 3
