Koei Tecmo has opened the official website for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet, which details the newly announced title's new and returning characters, improvements, and version differences.

The PS4 version of Scarlet does not support the Gold Fan or Softening Gel even though a previous version of the game: Fortune did have them.

The Softening Gel increases the jiggleness of boobs in the game.

The Gold Fan lets you blow the hair or skirts of a character which could lead to the skirt being flipped up. (You can go look up YouTube videos of the gold fan and softening gel in action, NSFW though.)

I guess this puts to rest the idea that Sony's new policies would only affect small developers.

It's still limited to just Japanese developers at this moment however.

I have zero interest in DOA, but such continued strong-armed censorship is enough to guarantee I won't buy a PS5. Hopefully developers don't put up with it either.

I'm sorry, but I fully support this censorship. One character (you know who) looks and acts underage. The less sexualization of that character, the better.

I'm not going to buy a PS5 if they keep this shit up, the majority of Japanese games worth playing come to PC and/or Switch now anyway.

Sounds like the game is better without those "enhancements," but whatever. The series seems perpetually stuck in the late 1990s.

I find this hard to get upset about. If these games don't want to get hit with censorship, they shouldn't be going out of their way to sexualize teenagers, especially when they have characters like Marie Rose in them.

If it was just Maria Rose then why not just disable those features for her only?

It seems pretty clear there going full scorched earth on everyone and frankly I don't like it.

Putting personal taste aside this is still a company demanding that a game already approved by an official ratings board be changed.

This was a mindset I'd hoped we got last in the 90's. Why else do CERO/PEGI/ESRB exist?

Edit: to be less reactionary I do think some of the details in this policy sound unfair, especially if sending games for classification is something they do for all games not just ones with fan service.

Normally if these kinds of games came over and had that kind of change, I wouldn't really bat an eye. Regions, cultures, demographics, are different. But this isn't coming to the US and I personally feel like the policy change Sony is doing is overstepping. And seeing as they have to send this stuff to the Sony US branch for additional evaluation, it almost feels imperialistic.

I want to comment something here. Do you really think that sending any response to Sony would make them care lol.

They have done this since ps1,ps2 and now ps4 era lol. They wont change their way just because some fans is angry.

You do realize this isn't actually going to stop anything right?

At most it'll just cause more of these games to migrate to PC and Nintendo consoles.

And even ignoring content I still think making them send the game report or whatever in English even if the game isn't getting a western release is bizarre and kinda an unfair practice.

These types of games are already on PC. They're just more explicit and X-rated.

Koei Tecmo is definitely the biggest publisher hit so far. Catherine is probably getting hit by this too. If Koei Tecmo isn't above this, no way Atlus is. Bullying developers and forcing to work in a language they don't know how to speak is fucking insane.
