Now that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is getting an HD Port for PS4 and Switch (and i would imagine Xbox and PC later on) the Chronicles series is back on notice.

Which means Crystal Bearers is not an absurd port to happen next. Maybe a Switch/PS4 release with revised controls and HD remastered visuals? This is one of those gems that just remains stuck on the Wii. You can play it on the Wii U Via backwards compatibility, but the control scheme is a bit dated and not super great. Still it's a fun game.

The question remains though, would it be well received? Would it actually sell?

Yes, absolutely

Layle was a great main character, and I adored pretty much everything about this game

Unfortunately It was like the worst selling final fantasy game ever, at least in japan, so the chances to see it being remastered are extremely low :(

I loved the game, its story, its main character, and even the "battle" system and mini-games. Also, had one of the best Wii soundtracks around.

I'd rather the team do a full remake of the DS sequels. Echoes of Time came the closest to matching the original game in my eyes.

I thought The Crystal Bearers was an okay game. Not a good "Crystal Chronicles" game, though. Regardless, I'll buy whatever to bring the franchise back.

All of that said, I'm still just waiting to see how FFCC Remastered turns out. After seeing how WOFF turned out on Switch and that initial footage of FFCCR, I'm pretty nervous that FFCCR is going to be a basic port to PS4 and a rough release on Switch.

Oh hell yes.

Honestly not sure how they would make it control though. Having the camera and Layle's power not tied together was kind of important. I think a dual analog control scheme would just feel clunky.

I enjoyed this game, although I always felt like it was missing a substantial something. Can't quite put my finger on it.

God no. I remember seeing the trailer and thinking it looked so cool but when the game came out I HATED everything about it.

The actual game was not nearly as good as what could've been, but Layle was an great protagonist

I'd buy a Ring of Fates one, because that's the only other one besides the original played, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

A port/remake/remaster would be awesome, but the controls need a little tweaking.

I remember this game not being GOTY material but being really fun nonetheless.
Incredible graphics for the Wii too!

Definitely, I thought this game deserved a little better than it got. Not amazing by any means, but had enough charm and fun to be very worthwhile. It seems to be so forgotten now.

I played it for a bit, and what I played seemed pretty good, so I would probably consider it.

From what I played of it (And I think I got pretty far), it was pretty messy. A lot of attempts to push the motion controls, and enough of them were clunky enough to leave a bad impression. It's hard coded into how the game works which makes a port a hard sell. No easy fix there.

The Spider-Man psychic power style movement was cool at the time and the battles, even if weird, weren't lacking in variety. And also echoing that Layle was fun.

It's a great game, but I don't really want a port, and it's too fresh for a remake. Full sequel would be the absolute best case scenario.

I actually didn't beat it, but I loved it and would buy it again for sure. Wouldn't want dual analogue controls though, they just wouldn't work, and Era would hate the lack of options.

I adored it and everything about the world and characters so yeah. It feels like Square Enix completely disowned it though. Not so much as a reference to Layle in any game since as far as I know. I'd kill for a mainline FF that takes place in the CC world.

Town adjacent to Silent Hill
I tried to play this, but this was one of the few Wii games where I simply couldn't get a good grasp on its motion controls. After a couple of sessions of struggling, I just gave up. A shame, since some of my friends think I would really like it if I could adapt to the controls. I do like the Crystal Chronicles franchise though. If not this one, I wouldn't mind if they just started doing new stuff with the brand again.

I liked it but not enough to keep it. After playing it I always felt that the core of the game had potential but the developers didn't actually know what they were going for until the end of development and it was too late to refine anything by then. The game is a reasonably fun mess that could have been something special if they had actually had a plan.

Possibly? I do remember liking the game, and I'm pretty sure I finished it, but somehow I can only remember the early parts of the game. I'd have to work out whether that was because the end sucked or not. I'd be open to revisiting those memories, though.

I still shed a tear from time to time about how this gem of a game was sent to die on the market :(

Deserves a second chance.

Definitely not. Everything I read I about it at the time makes it seem mediocre as hell. There are better ways of spending my time.

The game itself wasn't very good but the protagonist was like a cooler Zidane. Wish they would use him again.

Uh, he or Crystal Bearers have been referenced in more than a few games?

Lovely game with an excellent story but with a extremely bad motion controls.
I would change the battle mechanics and remove the waggle and we will be fine.

I have great memories about this game but I fear replaying it today wouldn't quite match them.

I think I'd rather keep it in a corner of my mind unless they tweak it in a major way.
