Like how his Destiny 'press sneak' confused people for years with what people were getting for destiny dlc free in the future. Considering how people up to that point knew DLC as the 'expansions' not as 'events
' this had repercussions for years on people impressions. Even where Destiny 2 launched people were confused about why there was paid DLC. It all started here. If he had waited for the press release below which is
better worded then a lot of this could have been avoided. By then, as the internet works and gaming press does, dozens of articles based off this spread making the misinformation even worse.

This is all part of a new plan that could start as early as this month, according to two people familiar with Destiny's development. Rather than sell big expansion packs like they did last year, Bungie is planning on giving out quests and missions for free, sources say. This will likely involve big drops every few months until the fall of 2016 but could also include trickles of smaller stuff throughout the year.
"Destiny is getting microtransactions, sources tell us. Don't freak out too much, though: We hear this paid DLC will be limited to cosmetic items like emotes and sparrow skins. And the developers at Bungie will be doling out free content every few months until next fall."

"Ok here's some fun inside baseball. The story behind this story, if you will. So at around 5pm I emailed an Activision PR rep to give them a courtesy heads up that I'd heard from sources about this news — both the cosmetic microtransactions and free DLC. I asked if they'd like to comment and told them we'd be publishing at 8pm. Then I wrote up the story and left the office at 6:25 or so, planning to post it when I got home.
At 6:30ish, as I was walking to the subway, I got a call from Activision saying Bungie would be publishing the microtransaction news on their own. So I turned around and fucking sprinted back to the office. Got on my laptop and hit publish, at pretty much exactly the same time Bungie did. Good times!
I can't fault Bungie for wanting to post their own news, of course. But maybe next time I get a scoop they don't need so much time to comment..."

EDIT: Commenting on the snippets of mine above I am not in favor of one person over the other. Everyone sees things differently. But it is ironic that one person that jumps the gun constantly is calling someone else out for 'misinformation' which is as best debatable by looking at the Fallout engine thread.
