Got the game last night but just now really playing for an extended period today.

I have been catching a TON of the same pokemon. Once I look and see which is the best, what do you do with all the extras? Also, I have seen some pokemon that are "huge", what does this mean?

Huge and small Poke'mon grant bonus EXP. Even more so if they are "Extra Small" or "Extra Large". In my experience, the huge Poke'mon give the most EXP.

What's the consensus on how wild encounters are initiated?

I want traditional wild Pokémon battles in the mainline games, but the way you see the wild Pokémon on the map and walk into them to initiate is an amazing change for the series IMO.

Tried to catch clefairy in the tunnel and he stayed on the left of my screen the hold time and wouldn't move. Then he ran. You can't even aim to the left.

Small PSA I guess.

Assuming these is only one of your fossil of choice in the game do not evolve your fossil.

Instead do the following to complete your dex:
Find someone who has the opposite fossil
Trade
Both players evolve the fossil
Trade back

In previous games, my team was always a few Pokemon until I reach the point where I had all the 6 Pokemon I intended to put into my main team.

In these games, I feel like my team is like 10-15 Pokemon and I am only at Vermillion City. I am using so much more Pokemon than in previous games and it is refreshing.

How do you trade online with a friend? We both keep getting random people.

We both have our friend codes too

So uh... dumb question, but when should I be doing the Silph Co Headquarters? I have three gym badges so far and for some reason the difficulty spiked. I haven't played Gen 1 since Fire Red so I can't really remember the order, but now I'm wondering if I'm supposed to be here yet.

Or maybe I just suck.

I really like this game, but I have played it three times before...and that does limit how much I can enjoy it.

Also I still think mandatory trainers need to go. I want to see trainers that wonder around, and I can choose to fight them because the rewards are good enough. But constantly interrupting me whilst walking is a pain.

You absolute madman. You are the bravest Pokémon Trainer I have ever met in my life.

I believe you "skipped" a huge part of the game. Including 2 gym battles and a handful of routes.

Oh fuck. I haven't even beaten the Celadon gym yet.

Yet I still beat... that person (don't want to spoil) that you have to beat before going into Silph Co, and I've been able to beat most of the Team Rocket Grunts found throughout, so I just figured there was a difficulty spike.

I just went and did a lot of grinding, too, thinking that I was under-leveled.

Yeah, we need somebody like Mitsuru Kirijo just walking around the overworld

Gonna stock up all my candies and have myself the most OP Farfetch'd

I have this icon on-screen that's my starter 'mon (Eevee) holding a Joycon and swaying back & forth. Anyone know what that's for?
Seeing one of the rarer Pokemon in the wild you really want, and rushing to get it is exhilarating. I never even considered that pre release. Random battles usually just made me grumpy. Expanding on that, possibly with bigger play areas, open fields, seems to be a good way to take the series
This will sound crazy but I want to see stealth shit in a Pokémon game. I wanna be able to sneak up on 'mons, set traps for them, throw stuff near them to lure them/scare/track them, before entering the catching phase.

But I don't think the main draw for Pokémon would allow that. It'd probably get in the way of how the game systems do exp and stuff, because it adds another phase that likely wouldn't give you anything.

Question! How did you catch your Abras? The moment I get close, they just teleport!

Not like I want an Alakazam anyway.

Boy, why did they make trading with friends so obtuse lol. These dumb codes are frustrating. Pokemon X/Y nailed with it PSS.

Has anyone got the ball to work with Pokemon Go? When my ball isn't connected to the Switch and I press the stick, all it does is blink red. Battery is full so i have no idea what this means. Super annoying.
Do you have a smartwatch connected to your phone? I saw some people say that they had to disconnect their smartwatch, pair the Pokéball to the phone, and then re-pair the watch to the phone.

Does anyone know if the fossils are still one per game?

If so getting that dex complete is going to require some coordination.
If you have a phone you can play Go on, I -think- Omanyte might be a rare spawn right now. Saw one or two of them the other day.

No one said the game wouldnt be sucessful. People just said they don't like the gameplay changes I hope the success of this doesn't ruin future games
As has been stated before, it seems GameFreak has no trouble fucking shit up regarding Pokémon mainline titles even before Let's Go happened, at least going by what people say about the last few games, so don't worry, Let's Go success isn't responsible for GF fucking things up, at least it is not the main culprit.

There's just a difficulty spike, yeah. You are where you should be (but beat Erika fast just cuz lol). If you try to go to Fuschia you'd find that most of the trainers on the way are even harder lol (I'm in that section myself).

First impressions are the graphics are clean and nice

... but why is this not 60fps?? Technically it should be quite easy to do. Was the 3ds pokemons also just 30fps?

The 3DS games were capped at 30, but they had dips at times, particularly during battles. So far, Let's Go is holding that 30 much better than the 3DS games did.
